Chapter 324 Sleeping Together
After getting into the taxi, Mitchell leaned on Willow's shoulder with his eyes closed. Willow couldn't tell if he was asleep, but she couldn't calm down because Mitchell's words tonight had been lingering in her mind.
When they arrived at the apartment building, Willow gently nudged Mitchell. He opened his eyes, looking a bit dizzy. Willow softly said, "Mitchell, we're home." Mitchell obediently nodded, then opened the car door and stumbled out on his own. Startled, Willow quickly paid the fare, jumped out of the car, and went to support him. Mitchell hugged her shoulder, tilted his head toward Willow, grinned foolishly, and said, "I'm fine."
"All right, let's go upstairs," Willow said. She helped Mitchell into the apartment building. Then they took the elevator up. Since Mitchell had given her a key earlier, she took it out and opened the door directly.
She remembered that morning when Mitchell came to pick her up for work. He suddenly handed her a key when they arrived at the company's garage. She was a bit puzzled and asked, "Is this for me? What key is this?" Mitchell smiled and said, "It's the key to my apartment." Willow held the key tightly in her hand, afraid of losing it, feeling joy spreading inside her.
After helping Mitchell into the room, she laid him on the bed. She wiped his face with a towel, took off his coat, and noticed he was still wearing his suit pants with the belt fastened. She hesitated, wondering if he would be uncomfortable sleeping like that.
Blushing, Willow reached for Mitchell's belt buckle, struggling to undo it. After finally managing to open it, she almost cheered, saying, "I finally got it!" She was about to proceed to remove Mitchell's trousers.
As her hand touched his belt and she was about to pull it out, the person lying on the bed suddenly spoke hoarsely, "What are you doing?" Startled, Willow sat back on her heels and said, "I'm helping you take off your pants." Realizing the ambiguity of her words, she quickly added, "I'm worried you might be uncomfortable sleeping in pants, so I thought of helping you."
Although Mitchell was drunk, he was not completely out of it. He felt Willow wiping his face and undressing him. Then he suddenly quieted down. When he opened his eyes, he saw her head close to his abdomen, feeling a rush of heat. Not sure what she was doing, he quickly interrupted her.
Mitchell cleared his throat lightly to hide his embarrassment and said, "I'll do it myself." He pulled the blanket over himself, then took off his pants from under the covers. Willow realized her actions might have been inappropriate, even though they were already a couple. "Mitchell, you should rest. I'll go outside," she said, grabbing a blanket to sleep on the couch.
Mitchell grabbed her hand, and they both tumbled onto the bed. "You sleep on the bed. I'll take the couch," Mitchell said, taking the small blanket from her. Remembering the last time he slept on the couch with half his body hanging off, Willow couldn't imagine how he would fit. She decided to hold onto Mitchell's arm and whispered, "Let's sleep together."
Mitchell was taken aback, but seeing Willow turned away from him, he lay back down and said softly, "Let's sleep." Unable to see Mitchell's expression, Willow felt nervous and stayed still, listening to his breathing behind her, surrounded by his scent. She recalled it wasn't the first time they shared a bed; the last time was a memorable experience during a power outage when they all huddled together.
Lost in her thoughts, Willow fell asleep unknowingly. Mitchell heard her steady breathing, covered her with the blanket, and, feeling dizzy from the alcohol, gradually drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, they both woke up almost simultaneously. Willow found herself sprawled on top of Mitchell, one leg across his abdomen, her head resting on his arm. She stared at Mitchell's face up close. He smiled gently and said, "Morning."
Startled by his charming smile so early in the morning, Willow replied dazedly, "Morning, Mitchell." She got up and rushed to the bathroom, looking at her flushed face in the mirror. She splashed cold water on her face, realizing how close they were in bed, which surprised her.
After freshening up, Willow came out of the bathroom to find Mitchell already changed. He handed her a bag, and she asked, "What's this?" Mitchell explained, "It's a change of clothes I bought last time. Try it on." Willow took the bag to the bathroom, opened it, and found a modest and stylish black dress from a luxury brand suitable for work or casual wear. She was amazed by the expensive clothing. Underneath, there was another bag containing freshly washed underwear. Blushing even more, Willow couldn't believe Mitchell had prepared even the underwear for her.
After changing, Willow came out, and Mitchell went to freshen up. Since it was the weekend and they had no rush to go to the office, they leisurely got ready and went downstairs to a breakfast place. As they walked back toward the apartment, Mitchell casually asked, "Willow, when are you coming home with me?"
