Chapter 280 Mitchell's Spring Romance
Mitchell had just sent the Facebook message when Patrick's call came in. He frowned slightly but answered anyway. As soon as he picked up, he heard Patrick's excited, eager voice and immediately regretted reaching out.
"Mitchell, what's going on? Which girl caught your eye? What does she look like? Got a picture? Please tell me it's not that Laura." Patrick's mind raced, searching for any girls around Mitchell. Besides Laura, whom he had met before, he had no other clues.
Mitchell replied sullenly, "No."
Patrick sighed in relief. He didn't think Laura and Mitchell were a good match anyway. He had long seen that Mitchell wasn't really dating her.
"Then who is it?" Patrick persisted.
Mitchell had been hesitant, but now he just wanted to hang up. Annoyed, he asked, "Do you even know what young girls like?"
Patrick retorted confidently, "You're asking the wrong person. I've never dated or pursued a girl. How would I know what young girls like or how to chase them?"
Mitchell, gritting his teeth, said to Patrick, "Goodbye," and prepared to hang up. He had thought that since Patrick often hung out with Willow and Daniel, he might know something. But it turned out Patrick was only interested in food and playing games. He regretted sending him the Facebook message; Patrick was indeed unreliable.
Patrick hurriedly stopped him, "Wait, Mitchell. I might not know, but I can give you some advice. You could ask Matthew or Liam; they have experience." Patrick thought that if Matthew could win Madison back and Liam's girl, Ophelia, could be considered a young girl, asking them would surely yield some useful information.
Mitchell seriously considered Patrick's suggestion. Asking Matthew was out of the question; Matthew was Willow's cousin and had amnesia. It wouldn't be appropriate to bother him with this.
Liam, on the other hand, might be worth asking. He used to be surrounded by rumors, but ever since he got together with Ophelia, he seemed like a changed man. Plus, Ophelia often hung out with Willow and Daniel, so he might actually get some useful information.
After hanging up on Patrick, Mitchell thought for a moment and decided to text Liam: [Liam, how did you pursue Ophelia?]
Liam was lying on the couch at home with Ophelia, watching an old foreign romance film. The male lead was one of Ophelia's favorite actors. She had been busy with work lately, so it was rare for both of them to be home, enjoying this leisurely time.
Liam heard his phone vibrate. He picked it up from the table, opened Facebook, and nearly fell off the couch when he saw Mitchell's message.
Liam glanced at Ophelia, who was engrossed in the movie, and discreetly typed on his phone: [When did I ever pursue Ophelia? She was the one who pursued me.] He shamelessly boasted.
Mitchell looked at Liam's message and was speechless. None of them were reliable. He put down his phone, not wanting to deal with them anymore.
When Liam didn't receive a reply from Mitchell for a while, he sent another Facebook message: [Mithchell, who caught your eye? What does she look like? Send us a picture.] Liam, just as nosy as Patrick, was most concerned about finding out what the girl Mitchell liked looked like.
Mitchell felt he must be crazy to ask these two unreliable people about such things. He should have just looked it up online; it would have been more reliable.
Liam didn't mind Mitchell's cold attitude. He looked at Ophelia and seriously thought about what she liked. She seemed to enjoy watching movies and cooking during her free time, and she was quite frugal, almost thrifty, with no other particular hobbies.
Liam continued to send Facebook messages to Mitchell: [Young girls might enjoy watching movies and cooking. You could invite her to a movie. Our company recently invested in a romance film you could support; Ophelia has a role in it.]
Liam, following Ophelia's preferences, gave Mitchell some advice. After all, this was Mitchell's first time pursuing a girl, and he was too curious.
Liam: [Mitchell, do you want me to send you two movie tickets?]
Liam: [Do you want autographed photos of the lead actors? Young girls love that kind of stuff.]
Liam: [Mitchell, are you asleep?]
Liam sent a string of messages, but Mitchell didn't reply to any of them. Mitchell thought Liam and Patrick were just there for the fun of it and were completely unreliable; he had to rely on himself.
He held his phone and seriously typed into the search engine: [What do young girls like?] A bunch of random content popped up, none of it reliable. Mitchell silently put down his phone, folded his hands behind his head, and leaned against the headboard. Finally, he sent Liam a Facebook message: [Bring me the movie tickets tomorrow.]
Liam was already lying in bed after watching the movie with Ophelia, who was in the bathroom taking a shower. When Liam received Mitchell's message, he got excited and immediately called to arrange two tickets. Feeling like a hero, Liam proudly sought credit from Mitchell.
Liam: [Done, Mitchell. I'll have someone deliver them to you tomorrow.]
When Ophelia came out of the shower, she saw him staring at his phone with a big, happy smile on his face. As she dried her hair and walked to the bed, she couldn't help but tease, "What are you doing? Smiling so passionately and infatuated."
Liam saw Ophelia approaching and quickly wiped the smile off his face, retorting, "Am I? Impossible. Only you would be."
Ophelia ignored him and went back to the bathroom to blow-dry her hair. As soon as she closed the bathroom door, Liam immediately called Patrick.
"Patrick, did Mitchell contact you?" Liam asked with a grin.
"How did you know?" Patrick was puzzled.
"Mitchell asked me what young girls like. I've never dated, so how would I know? I told him to ask you." Patrick was still playing a game, the sound of keyboard clacking in the background. "So, what advice did you give Mitchell?" Patrick asked curiously.
"I gave him two movie tickets and told him to invite her to a movie, a romance film our company just released. It's really popular right now." Liam thought the movie idea was brilliant. "By the way, you should secretly follow them and see who Mitchell likes. I don't have time tomorrow."
So that was the real plan. Patrick got excited, saying, "Liam, you're a genius. You thought of everything. Leave it to me; I'll make sure to get some high-quality photos for you."
The two of them were eager to find out who had captured Mitchell's heart.
