Chapter 409 Exchanging Secrets

At 8 PM on Friday, Willow and Mitchell had finished dinner and were lying in bed, each occupying one end, engrossed in each other's secrets.

Mitchell held his black sketchbook from college. The first half was filled with his drawings, but he was carefully flipping through the pages from the middle, which contained Willow's journal entries starting from her senior year of high school. There were words and drawings, all commemorating her teenage years. Naturally, Mitchell was mentioned almost every day.

Willow, on the other hand, held the tin box that Danielle had accidentally seen before. It contained her photos and some cards, with handwriting from both her and Mitchell.

Both of them were thoroughly enjoying themselves. They didn't expect that their love to each other to have been hidden for many years.

The tin box didn't hold much, so Willow finished looking through Mitchell's secrets first. Mitchell was reading intently, turning the pages very slowly, lingering on each one for a long time. Willow put the box away and quietly moved to Mitchell's end, planning to pounce on his back. She intended to scare him, but Mitchell, as if he knew she was coming, suddenly turned over and wrapped her in his arms, pinning her beneath him.

Both of them were smiling, their eyes twinkling like stars.

"How did you know I was coming?" Willow asked, her eyes curved in a smile.

"Take a guess," Mitchell said with a smirk, not giving anything away. In truth, he was so familiar with her that he could sense her approach.

Willow shook her head. "I really don't know."

"Did you finish looking through the box?" Mitchell asked, closing his notebook and placing it on the bedside table.

"Yes." Willow nodded lightly, her face blushing involuntarily, feeling a bit embarrassed.

Besides a few photos of her profile, there was a small ID photo, and the rest were notes she had secretly written before, with childish handwriting and some poems about 'crushes' she had copied down. However, she hadn't mentioned Mitchell's name, so he didn't know she had secretly liked him. There were also quite a few of Mitchell's notes, with his strong and beautiful handwriting, expressing his feelings at the time in very reserved poetry. Compared to the content in her notebook, it was vastly different.

So she regretted it, thinking she shouldn't have exchanged secrets with Mitchell. It was so embarrassing.

Seeing her suddenly blushing face, Mitchell lowered his head, gave her a light peck, and then smiled and asked, "Do you have anything to say after reading it?"

"No... nothing." Willow turned her head away, refusing to look at him. She thought about not telling him anything.

"But I have a lot to say. I haven't finished reading yet, so I'll tell you slowly after I do. I'll keep the notebook for now," Mitchell said with a smile, clearly in a very good mood.

Willow struggled to grab the notebook Mitchell had placed on the bedside table. "You can only read it tonight. It's invalid after that."

Mitchell grabbed her hands, his eyes darkening, and said in a husky voice, "Then we won't sleep tonight."

Before Willow could react, Mitchell lowered his head and captured her soft, rosy lips, silencing her. His kisses were gentle and fragmented, leaving her breathless and dizzy as if she were lost in a fog. His warm, soft lips slowly moved to her earlobe, suddenly taking it into his mouth and nibbling it lightly.

Willow felt the change in his body and slowly closed her eyes, unable to suppress the sounds from her mouth. She gradually became limp, unable to muster any strength, leaving her at his mercy, not to mention grabbing the notebook.

Every place Mitchell touched made her feel a sensation akin to a spark igniting a roaring blaze, engulfing her in fervent heat. It seemed that he intended to stay up all night.

Mitchell kept calling her "honey" by her ear, but Willow, in her daze, didn't respond. Mitchell stopped his actions, and Willow opened her eyes in confusion to see him looking at her with a pitiful expression. He softly called again, "Honey, why aren't you calling me?"

Willow hesitated for a moment and then softly called, "Mitchell."

Mitchell still didn't move, continuing to tease Willow, biting her ear and saying, "That's not right. You need to be punished." He then bit her shoulder lightly, causing Willow to shiver and shrink away.

She couldn't think straight, 'Don't I always call him that? What is wrong?'

Seeing her discomfort, Mitchell couldn't bear to tease her any longer, and his face was also full of restraint. Finally, in a husky voice, he whispered in her ear, "Honey, call me hubby."

Willow's face turned bright red, and finally, in a soft voice, she said, "Hub...by..."

Once she said it the first time, it didn't seem so embarrassing anymore. Willow continued in a sweet, soft voice, "Hubby."

To Mitchell, her voice was like music to his ears, and he seemed instantly stimulated.

As dawn approached, Willow belatedly realized that Mitchell never lied. When he said they wouldn't sleep, they really didn't sleep. But she was so tired.

Lying in bed, Willow felt the sunlight streaming in from outside. After a while, the room darkened again as the curtains were drawn.

In her daze, she realized Mitchell had bathed her and changed her clothes. She fell into a deep sleep, even though she had planned to visit Madison today. Her body wouldn't cooperate, aching all over, and she was unable to get up. One last thought flashed through her mind: never provoke Mitchell casually again.

Mitchell, with a look of adoration, tucked her in, gently closed the door, and called Matthew, saying they would visit Madison later. After the call, he returned to the room and lay down next to Willow. Although he hadn't slept much during the night, he couldn't fall asleep. He picked up the notebook from the bedside, turned on the lamp, and continued reading.

Those innocent and straightforward words were like an uncontrollable accelerator for him. Even though it took so many years to see them, they were all the more precious, and reading them still made his heart race.
