Chapter 338 Sneaky

Willow returned to her desk and quickly took out her phone to message Mitchell on Instagram.

[Mitchell, oh no, a colleague saw us in the parking lot yesterday and even took a photo.]

Head down, Mitchell was working on some documents when he saw the Instagram message on his phone. He immediately opened it and replied.

[It's fine, your face wasn't in the photo, so no one should know it's you.]

[Did you see the photo too?]

[With so many people discussing it, it's hard not to know.] Mitchell replied on Instagram with a smile playing on his lips.

Willow sighed and sent a string of ellipses. The fact that a single photo could stir up such a strong reaction made her wonder what would happen if everyone knew she was the woman in the picture. The whole company would probably rush to the 15th floor to catch a glimpse of her.

[Let's not have lunch upstairs today.] Willow messaged on Instagram while discreetly checking if anyone was approaching her. She wasn't worried about being caught chatting on Instagram; she was more concerned about someone discovering she was talking to their 'Mr. Jonah'.

Mitchell frowned and replied: [Why not?]

[It's too risky at this point. It would be like confessing. Be good. I'll take you out for a nice meal tonight.] Willow coaxed. She had noticed that whenever she acted cute, Mitchell would always agree, but today, especially today, she couldn't risk going to see Mitchell.

Whenever Willow acted cute, Mitchell's temper vanished, and he would agree without hesitation, but he also took the opportunity to make a request.

Mitchell: [Let's buy groceries and cook tonight.]

Willow immediately agreed: [Okay.]

Mitchell continued to play the victim: [Then how about not going back home tonight?]

Blushing, Willow knew that sometimes she stayed over at Mitchell's apartment. They would share a bed two blankets, and there might be some intimate gestures, but Mitchell always stopped in time and went to take a cold shower. So, staying over was not out of the question.

Willow: [All right.]

Mitchell stood by the floor-to-ceiling window on the sixteenth floor, staring at the word 'all right' on his phone screen.

To calm Mitchell down, Willow buried herself in work. At lunchtime, Elizabeth invited her to have lunch together. They ordered takeout and ate in the pantry since the weather was nice, and everyone else in the office had gone out to eat. It was just the two of them in the pantry.

While eating, Elizabeth pulled out the morning's photo and studied it. Suddenly, she noticed something odd, "Willow, why do I remember you wearing the same color clothes yesterday?" Willow didn't understand what she meant, so she looked up with a puzzled expression and asked, "What color clothes?"

Elizabeth handed her phone over, "It's the shirt Mr. Jonah's girlfriend is wearing, this light blue one. I remember you wore a similar color yesterday." Willow panicked for a moment, but thankfully, she had changed her clothes today. From head to toe, she looked completely different from yesterday, "You must be mistaken. I wore yellow yesterday." Elizabeth stared at the photo thoughtfully, "Maybe I remembered wrong, but this figure looks so familiar, like someone I know." She then looked at Willow, "Don't you find it familiar? Could it be someone we know?"

Willow quickly locked her phone screen and changed the subject, "Stop looking. We definitely don't know her."

"Really? But it feels so familiar. Don't you think this figure looks familiar?" Elizabeth persisted, staring at Willow, convinced they must know the person.

Willow immediately shook her head vigorously, looking sincere, "I don't feel it." Then she couldn't help but shout in her mind, ‘The photo is so blurry, how can you still recognize her? I can't even recognize myself.’

Not getting Willow's confirmation, Elizabeth began to doubt her own perception. There were only a few female colleagues around her, and Willow seemed to be the only one who matched Mr. Jonah. Elizabeth stared at Willow while eating, then shook her head and muttered, "It can't be." How could Boss's girlfriend be sitting here eating takeout with her? She couldn't believe it. It definitely wasn't Willow.

At that moment, Willow kept her head down and continued eating, not daring to say another word. She even hesitated for a moment, wondering if she should just tell Elizabeth, as she probably wouldn't tell anyone else. But she had already denied it earlier and didn't know how to bring it up again, so she decided to remain silent for now.

When it was time to leave work, Willow didn't dare go to the parking garage. She asked Mitchell to drive the car to a location one block away from the office, where she would meet him by bike. Mitchell felt sorry for her and suggested she drive his car away, and he would ride the bike, ensuring they wouldn't be seen together.

[No need, Mitchell, you go ahead and drive over. I'll be there soon.] After posting on Instagram, Willow rushed to the first floor. Several shared bikes were neatly parked on the roadside, and she had ridden them occasionally before. It was convenient, just scan the code and go. After a ten-minute ride, she arrived at the designated spot, and Mitchell's car was already parked there. Willow parked her bike and ran toward the car.

After some exercise, she was a bit out of breath. Once in the car, Mitchell immediately handed her a bottle of mineral water, unscrewed the cap, and handed it to her, "Have some water first. Are you tired?" Looking at her slightly flushed face, eyes sparkling, reflecting his own image, after all these years, he finally had the chance to clearly see how much he liked her in her eyes.

Willow took the mineral water and took a few sips, smiling, "Not tired." Mitchell decided that from now on, he wouldn't drive his own car but would drive Willow's car so he could come find her on his bike.

The two of them drove straight back to Mitchell's apartment. There was a supermarket downstairs, making grocery shopping convenient. After parking the car in the garage, they held hands and went straight to the supermarket. Pushing the cart, they strolled around, picking out items. Mitchell knew Willow's preferences well, so the cart was filled with snacks and vegetables she loved.

Mitchell used to dislike grocery shopping, finding it a waste of time. He believed that ordering takeout on the phone was more efficient. However, for the first time today, he found grocery shopping quite enjoyable.
