Chapter 326 My Parents Invite You Home for Dinner
"Almost forgot the main thing. My dad and mom sincerely invite you to come over for dinner tomorrow," Daniel said formally. "Originally, they called Mitchell, but no one answered. My mom was afraid you might feel embarrassed, so she asked me to call you."
Willow was dumbfounded. Mitchell had just mentioned this during the day, and she had just declined him. They had agreed to wait a while before officially visiting each other. Did they already know about her and Mitchell?
"Daniel, do Uncle and Aunt already know?" Willow asked.
"They just found out today. Mitchell hasn't even told my parents about you two dating. My mom asked me today why Mitchell hasn't been coming home lately, and I accidentally blurted it out. Are you planning to secretly live together?" Daniel asked somewhat nervously.
Willow chuckled softly, "No, Mitchell actually asked me this morning if I wanted to go back with him. I was a bit nervous. We had agreed to wait a while before going back together." Willow explained the morning's events to Daniel.
"Please, my dad and mom are thrilled about this news. They're probably overjoyed and couldn't wait, ready to call and scold Mitchell. He didn't inform them right away, and even I got criticized. How would I know if Mitchell didn't say anything?" Daniel reassured Willow, telling her not to worry as everything should be fine on her parents' end.
"I'll tell Mitchell later," Willow said.
"Are you two really together now?" Daniel exclaimed. Just now, he was just guessing, not expecting to be right!
"I won't tell you. Bye," Willow quickly hung up the phone. Right after hanging up, she unexpectedly received a message from Daniel on Facebook. "Oh my, am I going to be an auntie soon?" Willow was taken aback.
At that moment, Mitchell came out of the room in pajamas after showering, seeing Willow sitting on the couch staring at her phone. "What's wrong? Whose call?" Willow snapped out of it, turned to Mitchell, and said, "It's Daniel."
"What's up with Daniel now?" Mitchell thought something was wrong with Daniel.
Clutching her phone, Willow softly said, "Mitchell, Daniel said..."
"What did Daniel say?" Mitchell sat next to her, holding her hand, offering silent comfort. Seeing her troubled expression, he thought Daniel had told her something unpleasant.
"Daniel said Uncle and Aunt know about us and want us to come over for dinner tomorrow," Willow turned to face Mitchell, telling him directly.
Mitchell breathed a sigh of relief, smiling, "If you don't want to go so soon, I'll call and let them know." He thought it was something serious, making his Willow so uneasy and nervous.
"That wouldn't be good," Willow said softly, feeling unsure even as she spoke.
"What's not good about it? They've seen you before. Whether you go early or late, it's all the same." Mitchell wrapped his long arm around Willow. "I'll call them in a bit to explain. We've waited so many years to officially date."
After a moment of contemplation, Willow finally said softly, "Mitchell, let's go back together tomorrow." Father Jonah and Mother Jonah had watched her grow up since she was a child, treating her no different from Daniel. Why was she nervous? Besides, both Mitchell and Daniel were there; this should be the best in-law meeting.
Mitchell looked at Willow as if she had made a big decision, smiling, "Have you really decided?" Willow raised her head, looked at Mitchell squarely, nodded vigorously, and said seriously, "I've decided." She even smiled with determination. Mitchell smiled back, "Okay, let's go home together tomorrow."
They still slept on the same bed that night, but Mitchell brought another blanket and covered himself separately. In Mitchell's mind, he wanted to save the most beautiful night for their wedding day, which he felt wasn't too far off.
Hank only stayed in Horizon City for two days because his vacation was over, and he had to return to Emerald Isle City for work. During his two days in Horizon City, he didn't go anywhere. Just stayed at the villa, playing with Quentin and Hannah. Hank genuinely liked the two of them, acting like a child himself. Quentin brought out all his toy guns because he found Hank to be so knowledgeable about various gun models, abandoning his toy cars as his favorite and ranking toy guns first. Hannah always teamed up with Hank in games and always won, making her very happy whenever she won.
After resolving everything in Rome this time, Matthew gradually immersed himself in work and also began preparing for something very important, something he had always wanted to do, in secret. With Hank's help in looking after the children for two days, Madison focused on her work, and her efficiency was particularly high. She drew four or five design drafts in two days, shocking Rachel when she received them. She immediately called Madison and jokingly said, "Madison, at this rate, our company will soon grow and prosper. It's impossible to catch up with Matthew, but you have a good chance of becoming a wealthy lady."
"I hadn't thought about that. Hank came to Horizon City these two days to help take care of Quentin and Hannah, so I had some free time. My efficiency is a bit higher than usual," Madison explained with a smile.
"How come Hank came over?" Rachel asked, not having heard about it before.
"He went to Rome with Matthew before, sorted things out there, and since he had two days off, he came over. He's been playing with Quentin and Hannah all day, having a blast," Madison said with a smile.
"Hank is really nice," Rachel praised Hank.
"I haven't been to the studio in a long time and haven't seen you. How are you and Nicholas? When are you both coming over for dinner?" Last time, they didn't invite Rachel and Nicholas to their gathering because Mitchell was treating, and it was Patrick's setup. Now, they were inviting them over for a nice meal.
"We're doing fine." Rachel blushed a bit when Nicholas was mentioned. "He's been busy with a project's preliminary cooperation lately. Next week, we'll go see Quentin and Hannah together."
"Great, I'll cook for you guys."
After arranging the dinner, the two ended the call.
