Chapter 382 Announcing the Wedding Date
After the family of four returned to Horizon City, Matthew made a high-profile announcement of the wedding date. The good news was simultaneously posted on the JK Group's official website and his personal Facebook.
Since the last cyberbullying, he and Madison unexpectedly gained quite a few fans, attracting more attention than some celebrities. Because neither of them frequently used Facebook, fans eagerly awaited any updates from them. Even a casual post on Facebook would cause a minor stir. Madison occasionally shared some daily life updates, but Matthew's Facebook had yet to be updated since the official announcement. Many fans directly left comments on Madison's Facebook page, asking her to tell Matthew to take some time to update his Facebook page and to keep it in sync with Madison.
Madison jokingly showed Matthew the fans' comments, and he just smiled without saying anything. This time, when announcing the wedding date, he specifically emphasized: [Madison conveyed the message from you. So, here's the update.] He then posted a clear photo of their wedding invitation, showing the wedding date.
As soon as the Facebook post went live, it quickly caused a sensation. Besides a flood of congratulations, many netizens also praised Matthew.
[Mr. Nelson is really efficient. He said there would be a wedding, and here it is.]
[Yeah, can you livestream the wedding? I'd love to watch it.]
[Same here; please livestream it. I want to see it.]
[Did Mr. Nelson design this invitation himself? It looks like a hand-drawn portrait.]
Matthew personally replied to this comment with a simple and direct "Yes." Fans went wild over the words, expressing that he was truly an ideal husband.
Live streaming the wedding was out of the question. Madison had said that a simple and warm wedding would be perfect, without extravagance or waste. Matthew silently noted this and decided to follow Madison's wishes.
Since the wedding announcement, Madison had become increasingly busy. The studio's business was booming, with Rachel mainly handling the operations. However, the orders were not urgent; they specialized in custom designs, which naturally had long production cycles, especially the design phase. Orders were already scheduled for the next year, and Madison had to draw design drafts almost every night.
Seeing her work so hard, Matthew was naturally unhappy. Madison always said it was fine. Moreover, she genuinely loved designing. Matthew wanted to suggest she stop working, but he didn't say it out loud. Instead, he proposed incorporating the studio under the JK Group. After all, Madison was now the boss of JK Group, so it would still be hers. This way, management would be easier, with shared resources and personnel.
Madison seriously considered it and said she would find time to discuss it with Rachel, as they had originally founded the studio together. Matthew wasn't in a hurry; he just wanted Madison to have an easier time.
After returning from Emerald Isle City, while the two little ones were still on break, Matthew and Madison took them to Nelson Mansion and then gathered everyone for a meal. This time, Matthew very formally chose a private room in the most upscale restaurant, mainly because everyone had helped a lot during the wedding preparations. Moreover, Victor, Mitchell, Liam, and Patrick were undoubtedly going to be the groomsmen for Matthew's wedding. Four bridesmaids were also chosen: Willow, Danielle, Ophelia, and Rachel. Nicholas was also present at the meal, and he didn't mind at all that his girlfriend was a bridesmaid while he wasn't a groomsman.
The wedding was set for thirty tables. Although it wasn't a grand affair, just listing the guests easily filled thirty tables. It was a rare occasion for everyone to gather for a meal. They chatted and ate late into the night, reluctant to part ways. Danielle suggested throwing a bachelorette party for Madison, but Madison laughed and shook her head, saying she was far from single with kids this big.
"Madison, we need to have a sense of ceremony. I'll plan it, and you need to attend. But only women can join. No men allowed," Danielle said enthusiastically, already eager to get started. Planning events was her forte, after all. Willow, Ophelia, and Rachel all raised their hands in agreement, insisting that a bachelorette party was a must.
Matthew found it amusing. Hearing that men weren't allowed, he smiled and said to Danielle, "Danielle, it sounds like you're planning a ladies-only party, How about our bachelor Patrick here?"
Danielle clapped her hands and decided to change the name. "Matthew is right. Let's call it a ladies-only party. I'll notify everyone once I've planned everything."
Patrick jumped up immediately. "Danielle, you're clearly trying to exclude me from the fun."
"Patrick, not this time. Let us have fun. I'll make sure to include you in the next event," Danielle said, squeezing next to Patrick in a conciliatory manner. She was firm about not letting any men join her party.
Seeing everyone so enthusiastic, Madison didn't say anything more. She was suddenly quite looking forward to seeing what kind of party Danielle would plan.
After the dinner, Madison and Matthew returned to Nelson Mansion. Since it was late, everyone was already asleep. They quietly went upstairs to their room. William had been overjoyed lately, constantly asking Matthew if things needed for the wedding had been bought or prepared. He was tirelessly busy, making sure everything was in order.
The next morning, the couple took their two kids and headed to Madison's hometown to pay respects to her grandfather and share the good news about their wedding. Although the house was regularly cleaned, it wasn't suitable for staying with two kids, as it needed more essentials. So, they stayed at a local bed and breakfast owned by Unity's family that night. Unity and his family warmly welcomed them and prepared a large dinner with many farm-fresh dishes.
Quentin and Hannah played in the yard, getting mud all over their clothes and faces. They were making the most of the last two days before school started, playing to their hearts' content. With all the physical activity, they ate a lot at dinner. Madison was surprised to see Hannah, who usually ate very little at home, asking for more food. Although she didn't take much, it was enough to astonish both Madison and Matthew. Hannah even finished her meal with a bowl of soup.
After finishing, she licked her lips and asked Madison and Matthew, "Mom, Dad, can we have this soup again when we get home?"
Because of Hannah's question, Unity insisted on giving them two cleaned and ready-to-cook chickens to take home when they left.
