Chapter 379 Are You Sure It's Me

After hanging up the phone, Danielle's eyes wandered, guilt creeping in as she approached Willow. Confronted by her earnest look, Danielle couldn't shake the feeling of wrongdoing. But then she thought that since Willow had liked Mitchell for such a long time, she was just creating an opportunity for them. Willow will definitely forgive her, and she felt somewhat justified in her actions.

Willow took the phone and asked with concern, "Danielle, what's wrong? Did Mitchell call you for something?"

"Oh, it's just our dear mother. Lately, we haven't visited much, and she keeps pestering. Mitchell asked me to head back and keep her company tonight, so..." Danielle unconsciously touched her nose, feeling really nervous about lying.

Upon hearing this, Willow immediately said, "Then you should go. We can reschedule another day; we have plenty of time."

"What about you? We agreed to have a sisterly chat until dawn tonight." Danielle was still regretful, blaming Mitchell for offering so much money!

"I'll just take a cab back home. It's very close to my apartment here, just a twenty-minute ride. You go back quickly; it's late, and your parents are probably already asleep," Willow urged, knowing it was convenient for her to go back, while Danielle would need an hour to get to Jonah Family by taxi.

"No need. You don't have to take a cab yourself. Mitchell just said he's coming to pick you up. He's probably on his way now." Danielle quickly brought up what Mitchell had instructed her.

"Is Mitchell coming over? I already told him not to bother coming to pick me up." Willow seemed puzzled.

"He's coming. How could he not come to pick up his girlfriend on such a late night? Just wait here; I've sent him the location, so he should be here soon. I'll head off now." Danielle instructed, as her ride had arrived, reminding Willow to wait for Mitchell.

After Danielle got into the car, she rolled down the window, waved goodbye to Willow, who stood obediently at the Mall Entrance Road, and reminded her to message when she got home. Feeling somewhat guilty, Danielle knew she had to give Willow twenty thousand out of the thirty thousand Mitchell had offered each month, or she wouldn't feel right about spending it.

Willow stood at the Mall Entrance Road with several bags beside her. Danielle had taken her share, leaving behind the ones she bought for Mitchell, totaling five or six bags. After seeing Danielle off, she planned to call Mitchell again. Danielle had said he had left, but she didn't know where he had gone.

As Willow took out her phone, a car pulled up by the roadside in front of her. Looking up, she saw Mitchell in the driver's seat, wearing gray homewear. He leant on the rolled-down window with a smile on his face, looking at her. Her face immediately lit up with a sweet smile, "Mitchell, you're here so soon."

In fact, Mitchell had left promptly when Willow called him, already on the road. Since Danielle and she usually frequented just a couple of places, it was easy to guess where they might be shopping. That was why he had picked up Willow so quickly.

Mitchell got out of the car, walked over to Willow, and picked up the bags beside her. With a hint of gentleness in his voice, he asked, "What did you buy?"

"Clothes and shoes. I bought some for you too," Willow happily replied as she got into the car with Mitchell. Shopping was the best way to relieve stress; who wouldn't enjoy it?

"I have gifts too." Mitchell sat in the driver's seat, his gray homewear sleeves half-rolled up, hands casually resting on the steering wheel. Willow glanced over and noticed the faint veins on his pale arms. She quickly turned her head. "Yes, I bought shirts and ties."

She didn't mention the underwear; she would quietly stash them in the closet when she got home.

Listening to Willow saying she bought clothes for him, Mitchell was genuinely surprised and pleased. He unconsciously pressed the accelerator, eager to get home and unwrap the gifts.

The car fell into a comfortable silence. Willow casually asked, "Mitchell, have you had dinner?"

"I had pasta." Mitchell nodded, smiling all the way. He had cooked some pasta for himself after work, but with Willow not around, he didn't feel like cooking.

"If you're busy, you don't have to come pick me up specially. I can just take a cab back to my apartment; everything is there, and it's convenient." Willow knew Mitchell usually had to work extra hours at night, so she didn't want him to go through the trouble of running around.

"I'm not busy tonight." Mitchell continued to smile slightly.

"Okay, I just don't want you to be too tired," Willow said softly, lowering her head.

The car had already stopped; they had arrived home.

Mitchell reached out and ruffled Willow's hair, looking at her with a doting expression. He smiled as he staring at her, asking, "Don't you want me to work so hard?"

Willow raised her head, met Mitchell's gaze, and with her big blinking eyes, she earnestly nodded. "Yes, I don't."

Mitchell paused for a moment and then slowly said, "Then come live with me for the rest of your life." In the quiet night, in the quiet parking lot, his voice was enchanting.

Willow was stunned, her voice soft and slow. "Aren't we already living together?" She hadn't been back to her apartment for a long time, planning to go back tonight, but Mitchell had come to pick her up, disrupting her plans.

Mitchell suddenly grinned and replied, "Alright, then let's take a day off tomorrow and move all your stuff over to my place."

"Huh?" Willow was taken aback.

"What's wrong? If we're living together, shouldn't you move all your stuff here?" Mitchell continued with a smile.

"Okay." Willow thought about it and realized Mitchell was right. Although she often stayed at Mitchell's place now, she hadn't moved all her belongings there. Sometimes it was inconvenient. But...

Willow looked at Mitchell with her deep black eyes, her expression unusually serious and earnest. She asked, "Mitchell, are you sure it's me?"

'Is it really me that Mitchell wants to spend the rest of his life with?' she wondered.
