Chapter 377 Sisters Shopping
At noon, Mitchell called Willow into his office for lunch. By now, she was accustomed to striding in, and everyone was familiar with her comings and goings with Mitchell. Her colleagues in the sixteenth-floor secretary's office would smile and greet her, saying, "Willow, go find Mr. Jonah; he just brought lunch in, perfect timing." Willow smiled and nodded at others.
Entering the office, she indeed saw Mitchell unpacking the takeout lunch and placing it on the table. Everything was already arranged for her, sparing her any effort.
After finishing lunch, she took a bottle of fresh milk from the refrigerator, drank it, took a short nap in Mitchell's rest area, and then energetically went downstairs to continue working.
Just before leaving work, she received a call from Daniel, saying she had just returned to the company and wanted to go shopping and have dinner with Willow.
"Tonight you have to accompany me no matter what. How long has my brother been monopolizing your time? I've made such a big sacrifice, not disturbing you two for so long." Daniel coaxed and teased, insisting that Willow must be with her tonight. "If my brother doesn't let you go, I'll just rush to his office and take you away."
"Mitchell isn't that domineering." Willow softly defended.
"You see, how long have you been together? You're already starting to take his side after all this time together. Am I still your beloved Daniel?" Daniel pouted playfully at Willow.
"Alright, I'll be with you tonight. Of course, you are my beloved Daniel," Willow said with a smile.
After making plans with Daniel, Willow was about to call Mitchell to inform him. But before she could dial the number, she turned around and saw Mitchell standing behind her. It was already the end of the workday, and everyone had left. Willow put down her phone and happily ran toward Mitchell, asking, "Mitchell, when did you come down?"
"Just now." Mitchell also smiled, enjoying her affectionate approach. Holding his hand, she spoke softly and sweetly to him. He thought that no matter what she asked for, he would readily agree. He could give her anything.
"Daniel just called me. She's at the office and wants me to go shopping and have dinner. So, you should go home first tonight. If we shop too late, I'll go back to my place." Willow arranged everything considerately, even worrying about disturbing Mitchell if she returned too late, so she decided to stay at her apartment tonight, or she could go with Daniel, where they could chat and gossip.
Mitchell remained composed, nodding. "Alright, you go ahead. I'll go back and have dinner alone..." He emphasized the "have dinner alone." Then he added, "Call me when you're done shopping, I'll come pick you up." It was acceptable for him to have dinner alone, but leaving someone alone at home was not tolerable. He would make sure to pick her up no matter how late it was.
"YMake sure you eat. If it gets too late, don't worry about picking me up; we can just take a cab," Willow, oblivious to Mitchell's subtle cues, said casually.
"Alright, let's talk about it later tonight." Mitchell replied.
As Willow prepared to leave, she turned back, saying, "I'm leaving, Mitchell." Mitchell stood in place and waved at her. Although he waved back, his expression was somewhat forlorn. After taking a few steps, Willow suddenly turned back and ran toward him.
Mitchell was momentarily stunned. "What's wrong? Did you forget something?"
Standing in front of him, Willow smiled and tiptoed, quickly kissing him on the cheek. "I'm leaving, Mitchell." Then she swiftly ran toward the elevator. Mitchell stood there, looking in the direction she left, raising his hand to touch his face, feeling the sweetness in his heart.
As the elevator doors opened, Willow looked up and saw Daniel inside. Daniel took the initiative to say, "We really have a telepathic connection. I was just thinking of going to the fifteenth floor to find you. Why is your face so red, up to mischief?"
"No, no. I just ran too fast," Willow replied nervously, even pretending to fan herself as if she was hot.
Daniel linked her arm. "You told my brother, right? Don't go back tonight. Come with me. I've missed cuddling with you for so long."
Willow nodded, thinking she would just call Mitchell later to inform him.
The two of them happily went out. Daniel took Willow to have dinner first - a buffet. Although neither of them had a big appetite, Daniel liked the variety and the feeling of being able to eat as much as they wanted.
It was a lot of fun!
They spent two hours dining, both feeling a bit full at the end, each holding an ice cream in hand.
Then they leisurely strolled through the streets, digesting the heavy meal they had just eaten.
Shopping for girls seemed endless, as they seemed to want to enter every store, from jewelry stores to women's clothing stores to shoe stores.
Despite not necessarily purchasing anything, they enjoyed the process.
Eventually, they found themselves laden with bags after exploring numerous stores. Passing a lingerie store, Daniel pulled Willow inside, saying, "Let's take a peek."
"Come on. Let's take a look inside."
Willow was almost dragged in by her; she really didn't seem to need any lingerie. With great interest, Daniel tried on two sets recommended by the salesperson, feeling comfortable in both, so she bought them. Then, with a mischievous smile, she leaned over to Willow and asked, "Willow, don't you want to take a look? How about something sexy?" She said with a mischievous smile.
Willow, feeling embarrassed, glanced at her. "Daniel..."
Daniel raised her hands in surrender, indicating she was wrong, but then continued to suggest, "How about buying something for my brother? He would definitely be thrilled. Trust me."
"I could get him something else, like shirts or ties. I'll go take a look later." Willow didn't understand why she had to buy underwear; it was embarrassing.
"But those won't have the same allure as underwear," Daniel remarked bluntly. She picked up a set of black couple underwear and handed it to Willow. "How about this set? take a look."
Willow reluctantly took it, silently examining it. It was quite nice, and the fabric felt comfortable.
However, it seemed a bit small.
