Chapter 523 Saw Willow

Mitchell walked to the center of the crowd with a frown, followed by a group of puzzled executives.

The sudden appearance of so many big shots made everyone nervous, and the place instantly became even quieter.

Mitchell immediately saw the brainless intern from earlier, with a swollen face. His frown deepened, not out of concern, but because this person was causing trouble again.

Then, he noticed an employee from the project department, often seen with Willow, standing there with a stern face. Her name was Elizabeth, an old employee.

These two were clearly the main characters of the incident.

Mitchell asked sternly, "What's going on?"

Savannah quickly spoke up, tears streaming down her face, looking pitiful. She said, "Mr. Jonah, it was Elizabeth who hit me."

Mitchell's frown deepened as he glanced at Savannah's swollen face, with a clear five-finger mark, then turned to Elizabeth.

Elizabeth immediately admitted frankly, "Mr. Jonah, I hit her. I'm willing to accept the company's punishment."

Seeing her admit it, Savannah's eyes showed a hint of undisguised smugness. She glanced at Elizabeth, thinking, 'Just wait to be kicked out by Mr. Jonah. Everyone here is a witness; they all saw you hit me. This slap won't be in vain.'

Savannah was confident that Elizabeth would be fired since she admitted to it and was willing to accept punishment.

Elizabeth had no intention of explaining herself. She thought that she did hit her, and everyone saw it. She couldn't deny it, nor could she distort the facts with poor acting like Savannah.

Willow, blocked at the back, couldn't see Mitchell's expression. She only heard Elizabeth admit to hitting someone and was willing to accept her punishment. She got anxious and planned to step forward to explain the situation and check the surveillance. Her intuition told her that Savannah did it on purpose.

The project manager coughed lightly and explained to Mitchell, "Mr. Jonah, there might be some misunderstanding. Savannah accidentally spilled coffee on Elizabeth's friend, and Elizabeth might have gotten anxious and hit her. How about I take them back to the office to clarify the situation and then report the handling result to you?"

He was somewhat biased towards Elizabeth, hoping to quickly downplay the incident.

Both were from the project team, and continuing the commotion here wouldn't look good.

Savannah was unhappy hearing this. She had worked hard to create this opportunity and even got slapped. How could she let it go? If they went back to the office, the manager would likely handle it peacefully. She couldn't let that happen.

She deliberately increased her sobbing. She said pitifully, "Mr. Jonah, I'm fine. I'll accept whatever the manager decides. But my face is swollen, and my head hurts. I might need to go to the hospital for a check-up."

Savannah exaggerated her injury and subtly implied that she might be unfairly treated because Elizabeth was an old employee. This statement thwarted the project manager's intention to downplay the incident.

Mitchell silently looked at Savannah, who had a deeply aggrieved expression but was secretly pleased.

Mitchell suddenly turned to Elizabeth and asked, "Is Willow here?"

This seemingly random question stunned everyone, except Elizabeth and the project manager, who immediately understood who Mitchell was referring to. The others didn't realize his wife was Willow, who was from the project department.

Elizabeth nodded slightly to Mitchell and glanced towards the back of the crowd, also looking for Willow.

Following her gaze, Mitchell could vaguely see half of Willow's head.

He quickly strode over, and the crowd automatically parted, forming a pathway.

At the end of the pathway, Willow stood there with a smile, looking at Mitchell walking towards her, though her clothes were stained with coffee, making her look a bit disheveled.

After confirming her location, Mitchell quickly walked over. He immediately noticed the coffee stains on the clothes she wore to lunch with him.

He had suspected that Elizabeth's friend who got splashed with coffee was Willow.

Mitchell circled Willow several times, holding her and anxiously asking, "Are you hurt? Do you feel uncomfortable anywhere?"

Willow shook her head. She was indeed scared just now, but her body was fine, and the baby was fine too. She didn't feel any discomfort.

By now, some old employees had recognized Willow as Mitchell's wife. Especially the big shots from the project department meeting earlier, they all recognized Willow.

Only some new interns didn't know her and were whispering to find out her identity. When they learned she was Mitchell's wife, they were all shocked.

Actually, the person who got splashed with coffee was Mitchell's wife.

The project manager was also shocked.

Who could tell him what was going on? How come no one mentioned that Willow was also in the café and got splashed with coffee?

The project manager whispered to Elizabeth, "Did Savannah splash coffee on Willow just now?"

Elizabeth looked at Savannah's pretentious face, still acting pitiful, and got angry. "Yes, otherwise, do you think I would want to hit her?"

The project manager nodded in understanding. He remarked, "Alright, this has thoroughly angered Mr. Jonah."

Savannah was still secretly pleased. She didn't hear the whispers, especially since the discussions were happening at a distance.

The executives around her wouldn't directly tell her that the person she splashed coffee on was Mitchell's wife.

Savannah was still waiting for Mitchell to announce Elizabeth's immediate dismissal.

She watched Mitchell quickly walk towards the pregnant woman she had splashed coffee on, feeling a moment of guilt, but quickly calmed down. As a leader, he should greet guests on his turf.

However, she felt Mitchell seemed very concerned about her.
