Chapter 240 Horseback Riding

After everyone finished breakfast, they brought some sunscreen equipment and headed out. The Mountain Paradise was about 3 kilometers away from the resort. It was also a project developed by Nicholas's company, which was still in the trial run phase and still needs to be officially opened. Because it was a weekday, there were few people, and they could play almost every activity without having to wait in line.

Quentin Garcia and Hannah Garcia had a great time, playing every project they could. They were a bit disappointed when they were told to leave some projects for the adults, as they weren't tall enough. Hank bought them each a toy from a small shop, and the two kids played with their toys on the lawn, running around.

Patrick and Daniel, two children, couldn't stop playing. They screamed in excitement while playing go-karts, swinging in the air, and strolling in the air. Willow and Madison didn't dare to join the swing in the air. Apart from father-in-law and mother-in-law, who didn't meet the requirements due to their age, Quentin Garcia and Hannah Garcia, who didn't meet the height and age requirements, and Willow and Madison, who were afraid to participate, everyone else was quite bold and experienced it.

They had lunch inside the amusement park, and the food was delicious and clean. After lunch, the two kids insisted on going horseback riding. Everyone went to the horse stable together. Madison didn't know how to ride, so Matthew took her. Hank took Hannah Garcia, and Quentin Garcia followed his grandfather. Everyone else rode their horses without needing any help. Willow had ridden a few times before, but she wasn't very familiar with it, so a staff member helped her with the reins at the front, slowly walking at the end. She looked up at the sky and was glad that the sun wasn't too strong today; otherwise, everyone would have gotten sunburned. She used her arm to shield herself from the sunlight and felt someone riding a horse approaching. She turned her head and saw Mitchell's horse.

"What's wrong? Don't you dare ride by yourself?" Mitchell asked proactively.

"Hello, Mitchell," Willow greeted and then nervously explained, "I haven't ridden for a while, so I'm taking a leisurely walk."

"Do you want me to accompany you?" Mitchell's smile was exceptionally radiant in the sunlight. Willow felt a moment of dizziness. After realizing she had been staring, she quickly came back to her senses and turned her head, saying, "No, I'll just walk slowly."

"Then let me walk with you," Mitchell also slowed down and walked alongside Willow. Willow noticed that the cut on his lip hadn't healed yet, making her extremely guilty. Finally, she took the initiative to apologize, "Mitchell, is your lip alright? I was drunk that night. I'm sorry."

"Do you need to take responsibility for it?" Mitchell suddenly asked seriously. Willow was startled and didn't know how to respond. Mitchell then burst into laughter, "Hahaha, Mitchell was just joking. Look how scared you were, worrying about taking responsibility for me." Willow moved her mouth, about to explain that it wasn't necessary, but then she heard Mitchell say, "It's fine, look, it's scabbed over." Willow looked up and saw that it seemed much better than yesterday. It was not swollen anymore, but the cut was still healing.

Two people were chatting when they heard the sound of galloping hooves behind them. Soon, Ella caught up with them on her horse. The three rode side by side, Ella wearing tight jeans and a short-sleeved white T-shirt, which couldn't hide her great figure. It was clear that she was skilled at horseback riding, a sport she often played. Willow felt impressed by her ability to ride a horseback.

Ella tugged the reins and slowed down, walking on the other side of Mitchell. "Why are you two so slow? What are you chatting about? You seem so happy."

Mitchell glanced at Willow and replied, "We're tired, just taking a break."

Willow explained, "I'm not very good at riding, so I'm slow."

Despite wearing a hat, Ella was sweating heavily. "I'll take a break, too, and walk with you guys to rest."

With Ella's addition, Mitchell and Willow didn't continue the slightly awkward conversation they had before. Willow particularly felt more uncomfortable now, as if she had interfered with someone's love life.

On the way, Ella found topics to chat about, mostly her experiences abroad or professional matters. Mitchell didn't talk much, mainly listening to her, occasionally adding a few words. Willow couldn't understand what she was saying, so she didn't speak much. Watching Ella and Mitchell interact, she surprisingly found their dynamic quite harmonious. Did Mitchell actually like this kind of dominant personality? He clearly didn't want to talk but was still putting up with her temper. Love really does make one tolerant of the other person.

The more Willow thought about it, the more bored she felt. Finally, when they reached the rest area, she stopped and said, "Mitchell, you guys can keep riding. I can't. I'll rest by the side." Before Mitchell and the others could react, she dismounted right away. The staff led the horse away to rest, and Willow walked toward the shaded area and found a chair to sit and relax.

Mitchell watched Willow walk toward the rest area and opened his mouth to say something, but eventually didn't say anything. Ella smiled mischievously. "Willow doesn't seem to like horseback riding, does she? She doesn't seem interested. How about we do another round? This Horizon City horse ranch is pretty hard to find. Today was quite satisfying to ride."

Mitchell glanced again at Willow, already sitting in a chair in the rest area, her face flushed from the sun. Doesn't she like horseback riding? He clearly remembered the last time they went out together. She was so happy while riding a horse!

Ella looked at Mitchell, who was only looking toward the rest area without saying a word. Her eyes darted around, "How about we have a competition? If I win, give me five more points for our collaboration project." Mitchell raised an eyebrow, "And if you lose?"

Ella grabbed the reins and slapped the horse's butt, starting without saying a word, shouting, "We'll talk about it if I lose." Mitchell also quickened his pace to catch up. Little did she know, he was actually quite skilled. Although she had observed him at the racetrack earlier, she hadn't realized he was such a good horse rider. She considered herself quite good because she enjoyed riding and had frequently done so while abroad.

And yet, she still lost!
