Chapter 536 Appearing on the Show
Financial programs typically didn't start by discussing two individuals directly, so the show started with a a standard interview.
The host's questions were very professional, and because of the show's strong professionalism, its ratings had always been high, comparable to entertainment programs.
Mitchell sat beside Willow, holding her hand confidently and calmly answering the host's questions.
After the professional questions were mostly covered, the latter part of the show shifted topics, with the host focusing on Willow.
Since they were introduced at the beginning, the live audience and viewers at home were eagerly waiting to hear about the couple's love story.
The host asked, "Mr. Jonah, we learned that you and Mrs. Jonah grew up together. Our audience is quite curious about your love story. Could you share it with us?"
Mitchell and Willow turned to look at each other and smiled knowingly.
Mitchell's smile caused quite a stir both on set and in the live stream.
The audience erupted in screams, and the live chat was filled with comments: [He's so hot!]
Mitchell had been on the show before, always serious, treating it like a task to be completed, and leaving as soon as the interview was over. He rarely smiled, even at the company, where he was polite but distant, making him seem unapproachable.
So, this smile surprised not only the audience and live stream viewers but even the professional host who had interviewed him several times.
The host, being closest, had the best view and was momentarily stunned by his smile.
Fortunately, her professionalism kicked in, and she quickly adjusted, joking, "This seat is really not friendly. I probably won't need dinner tonight, being fed by the Jonahs' sweet interactions."
The audience burst into laughter.
The host continued with the previous question, asking about their love story and who pursued whom first.
Mitchell answered first, "I pursued my wife first."
His gaze remained on Willow, and seeing a strand of her hair fall, he naturally tucked it behind her ear.
Willow, a bit embarrassed by his gesture, blushed and muttered, "Hey, I was totally the one who made the first move!
The host was taken aback and laughed. "Well, it seems both Mr. and Mrs. Jonah believe they were the one who started the chase."
Mitchell, after the host finished speaking, said, "I was indeed the one who confessed first."
Willow thought seriously and realized it was true, so she nodded in agreement, showing a sense of wifely obedience.
When discussing their mutual misunderstanding about each other's feelings, the host said, "Mr. Jonah and his wife were meant to be together. Otherwise, it would have been a shame to miss out on this fairy-tale romance."
Mitchell looked at Willow deeply, and she smiled back at him.
He turned to the camera and said, "There would be no missing out. If it wasn't her, there would be no one else."
The meaning was clear. If it wasn't Willow, he would remain alone forever.
Willow was inexplicably moved by Mitchell's words. She understood his meaning, feeling the same way.
Willow quickly added. "Me too."
They smiled at each other again.
The live stream reached its peak viewership at that moment.
The host felt she had seen all of Mitchell's smiles that night.
After the show aired, fans urged Mitchell and Willow to open Instagram accounts and share more with their fans.
Mitchell already had a verified account, so fans quickly found it.
The comments under his latest post, a repost of JK Group news, grew rapidly.
That night, Mitchell posted personal content for the first time, tagging Willow.
The picture showed a family of three holding hands, with the caption: [I love you forever.]
On the next day, Willow found that her Instagram followers had surged overnight and were still increasing by the minute. She had registered her account long ago, occasionally posting about her life, sometimes a scenic photo, a stray cat, or complaints about school and work. It was very real, trivial, and ordinary.
Mitchell had helped her set up the account when she started high school, and her username was simply "Willow", with a cute cartoon girl as the profile picture.
Willow didn't expect Mitchell to post and tag her. Seeing comments on her first post, she thought, 'Oh no. It's embarrassing. The old posts are so childish, especially those from my school days, which I find boring. But it is too late to delete anything now.'
Mitchell walked into the room to find Willow pouting on the bed.
"What's wrong? Who's been messing with you, honey?" he asked with a smile.
Willow looked up at him. "You bullied me."
Mitchell sat on the bed and patiently asked, "How did I bully you?"
"Why didn't you tell me you were going to post on Instagram and tag me? My account is full of random stuff, mostly from school. It's so childish," Willow said with some resentment.
'So that is it,' Mitchell thought.
He patted her head. "What's childish? Everyone is praising you, saying you're cute and genuine."
He had read many comments in the morning, almost all praising his wife, which reassured him.
Willow looked up and asked, "Really? Did you read them all?"
Mitchell nodded. "Yes."
Then, he kissed her pouting lips when she wasn't paying attention, making her playfully slap his shoulder.
"Where's Mikey?" Willow asked.
"Mom took him out to play," Mitchell replied.
Willow scrolled through the comments, laughing at the funny ones.
Mitchell held her hand, gently stroking it.
This was the essence of a peaceful life.
