Chapter 427 Being Chased to Be Introduced to Dates

The next day, the wedding went off without a hitch. Mitchell, standing in as a groomsman, wore his usual work suit. He stood quietly in the farthest corner, not saying a word, merely serving as a number to fill the group.

However, his eyes were glued to Willow from start to finish.

Today, she wore a bridesmaid dress and had makeup on, making her look a bit more mature than her usual baby-faced self.

Once the ceremony began, they all stood to the side of the stage, watching the groom recount his love story with the bride.

Willow and her roommates couldn't help but tear up. They had witnessed all the struggles the newlyweds had overcome to reach this moment.

During one of the ceremony segments, a groomsman went on stage to sing a song. Everyone in the audience joined in. The group sing-along was the highlight of the wedding ceremony, and Amanda stood on stage, crying her eyes out.

The bridesmaids and groomsmen had their own table, and they started eating only after the ceremony ended.

Amanda and Rex joined them after seeing off the guests. As they were eating, an elderly lady approached. The groom went to greet her; she was likely a relative from his side of the family.

The elderly lady held the groom's hand, her eyes twinkling as she looked at Mitchell and said, "Rex, this groomsman looks quite nice, very handsome. I have a granddaughter about his age who works as a doctor at Emerald Isle City Hospital. Can you introduce them?"

Her voice was loud enough for everyone at the table to hear. She started pulling Rex towards Mitchell.

Rex quickly stopped her, saying, "Grandma, he has a girlfriend. Look, she's sitting right next to him. She's Amanda's college roommate and also a bridesmaid."

"Does he have a girlfriend? Oh dear, too late..." The elderly lady muttered in disappointment as she slowly walked away.

Not long after, a middle-aged woman approached with a young girl who looked shy and kept her head down. The woman pulled her towards the groom and bride, whispering.

Willow and Amanda, sitting nearby, overheard their conversation.

Willow couldn't believe that the woman was also interested in Mitchell, bringing her daughter along to introduce her.

She regretted having Mitchell serve as a groomsman. Seeing the girl occasionally sneak glances at him, Willow's possessiveness flared up.

She pouted, wishing she could cover Mitchell's handsome face with a mask.

Mitchell, sitting next to her, was focused on peeling shrimp and picking out fish bones for her, completely unaware that he had become the center of attention.

Amanda, hearing the woman's request, stood up and said with a smile, "He already has a girlfriend. Didn't you see him peeling shrimp for her? He hasn't even had a chance to eat himself."

"Yeah, he came with his girlfriend to the wedding and is just helping out as a groomsman," Rex added in explanation.

The middle-aged woman followed Amanda's gaze and finally noticed Willow, making Willow feel extremely awkward.

The woman, probably not expecting this outcome, awkwardly said, "Oh, I see. Sorry, I thought the young man was single."

"If such a high-quality guy were single, the rest of us would have a hard time finding a date," Lisa chimed in, laughing straightforwardly.

"Indeed." The girl behind her, feeling embarrassed, quickly pulled her mother away.

Mitchell didn't say a word the entire time, focusing on picking out fish bones and placing the fish in Willow's plate. He gently reminded her, "Be careful while eating."

Her earlier discomfort seemed to fade as she enjoyed being taken care of.

However, she couldn't help but think that having such a handsome boyfriend was also a bit of a hassle.

Seeing that she finally stopped pouting and started eating the fish he had prepared, Mitchell leaned in and whispered in her ear, "Next time we go out, I'll stick a note on my back that says 'Property of Willow,' okay?"

Willow burst out laughing and said, "Sure."

"Alright, I'll have all my clothes embroidered with those words when we get back," Mitchell said seriously while peeling more shrimp.

Willow quickly responded, "I was just kidding. I'm not that possessive."

She pouted even more.

Mitchell placed the peeled shrimp in her bowl, turned to look at her, and said with a smile, "Honey, you can be possessive."

All of her frustration seemed to vanish. Their intimate whispering caught everyone's attention, and no one else approached to introduce a date.

Everyone had a bit to drink that night.

Lisa got completely drunk, and Karen had to help her back to her room.

Mitchell and Willow didn't drink much.

After the event, they held hands and took the elevator back to their room.

Willow had planned to stay a few more days, so she hadn't bought a return ticket. After washing up and lying in bed, she asked, "Mitchell, you still need to go back to Maple City, right?"

She guessed he still had unfinished business there.

"Yeah, I need to go back," Mitchell replied, confirming her guess.

This time, she didn't feel disappointed and said with a smile, "Then have a good meal with them tomorrow and head back quickly. Don't delay your work."

Lying side by side, Mitchell held her hand, turned to look at her, and asked with a smile, "Willow, do you want to go to Maple City?"

Willow turned to look at him, stunned.

"Do you want to go to Maple City with me?" he asked seriously again.

"Can I... go with you?" Willow asked, a bit unsure.

"Of course you can. So... do you want to go with me?" Mitchell asked once more.

Willow's eyes sparkled, and she looked at him with a serious expression. "I want to go with you."
