Chapter 343 Movie Date

"Is the pepper pot tasty?" Mitchell suddenly asked.
Willow was taken aback. "It's very delicious." Her silly appearance made Mitchell feel pleased, and he smiled. "Good, I cooked it." Then in a tone seeking praise, he claimed he made it himself.

Willow wasn't lying; the pepper pot was indeed delicious. Because she ate slowly, she could savor the taste. It was simmered over low heat for a long time, carrying the sweet fragrance of the ingredients. Mitchell even added shrimp, making it extremely rich and tasty.

"You’re really amazing." Willow generously praised with a smile, a single sentence making Mitchell a bit embarrassed, his ears turning slightly red.

"Go rest in bed." Mitchell urged Willow to rest, only when she was out of his sight could he attend to some work. If she was around, he wouldn't be able to focus all day.

Recently, Matthew hadn't been working overtime much. Whenever he had time, he took the two kids out to play, visiting the zoo, aquarium, and amusement park, and having a blast. Madison thought that this summer vacation must be the happiest one for the two little ones. She occasionally took time to visit the studio to discuss design drafts with Rachel. The studio had hired two new employees, a suggestion made by Madison because both she and Rachel had been quite busy, especially Rachel, who just started dating Nicholas and needed more time for dates. If Rachel stayed this busy, Nicholas might have to personally call her to get some time.

This time, Rachel didn't refuse the idea of hiring new staff. The two of them quickly agreed, and the studio soon welcomed two new employees, both girls. Madison and Rachel interviewed them together, and both young girls had quiet and good-natured personalities, which suited Madison's temperament.

They had recently resumed their old habit of spending a night or two at the Nelson Mansion every week with the two kids to accompany their grandfather. The old man was naturally delighted, and Valerie prepared a lot of delicious food for them to enjoy.

In the evening, the family of four had dinner at the Nelson Mansion. The kids’s grandfather took the kids, Quentin and Hannah out for a walk, and Madison was planning to take a bath and read a book in bed. Tonight's dinner was particularly early, not even six o'clock yet, leaving plenty of time in the evening.

As Madison entered the room, she saw Matthew standing in front of the mirror, buttoning up his shirt. She walked over, took over the task from him, and carefully buttoned up his shirt. "Are you going out? Do you have a social engagement tonight?" Dressing up so late must mean he had somewhere important to go.

Matthew looked into her eyes, his features softening as he gazed at her, but he remained silent.

Madison's hands continued their work, buttoning up his shirt and selecting a tie to match. After everything was neatly arranged, she noticed that he had styled his hair deliberately, and she couldn't help but praise him. "You look handsome. The person you're meeting tonight must be important." Otherwise, why would he pay such meticulous attention to his appearance?

Matthew smiled indulgently throughout, watching her button his shirt and tie his tie, feeling nothing but love. Hearing Madison's words, he smiled and nodded. "Yes, a very important person."

Madison was slightly taken aback by Matthew's response, feeling a hint of something unusual. Still, she didn't suspect anything beyond wondering who he was meeting and why he was dressing up so formally tonight. She hadn't seen him dress this way for work-related events before.

Feeling a twinge of jealousy, she asked, "Is it a man or a woman?"

Matthew continued to smile, his lips curved. "A woman."

Madison was completely stunned, her movements freezing in place. Seizing the moment while she was still in shock, Matthew took a black bag from the wardrobe and handed it to her, smiling as he asked, "My dear wife, would you honor me with your presence to watch a movie together tonight?"

Dumbfounded, Madison took the bag and opened it to find a custom-made dress inside. It was the first design she had ever made when she started learning fashion design, immature and lacking in technique, but it was the beginning of her dream. Although she hadn't turned that design into a finished product, she had kept it all this time, hoping to one day turn it into wearable clothing.

This finished dress bore a striking resemblance to the first dress on her design sketch, retaining ninety percent of its original features. Excited, Madison took out the dress, still not fully comprehending what was happening. "How did you get this?"

By now, Matthew had put on his suit jacket, and the tailored cut showcased his physique. Madison was completely captivated by his carefully groomed appearance.

It felt like they were back to when they first met, with that heart-pounding feeling of falling in love.

"I accidentally saw your design sketch and took the liberty of turning it into a finished product. I made a few modifications myself. Would you like to try it on?" Matthew was a bit cautious now, having peeked at Madison's design sketch without her knowledge.

Madison put on the dress, and it fit perfectly, exuding an air of elegance and sophistication. Matthew had added some waist pleats to give the dress a playful and cute touch, making her look much younger.

Spinning around, Madison asked, "Matthew, does it look good?"

Matthew's eyes darkened for a moment as if he had been infused with something impulsive. He walked up behind Madison, gently zipping up the dress, and in a husky voice, he said, "My wife looks good in anything, especially tonight." Madison felt his body change behind her and blushed, unable to move.

After holding her for a moment, Matthew let go of her and said hoarsely, "I'll wait for you downstairs." Once Matthew left the room, Madison's heart was still pounding uncontrollably.

Even though they were an old married couple, Madison could still easily be stirred into uncontrollable heartbeats.

She applied light makeup, tidied her hair, and then went downstairs to find Matthew. As she reached the top of the stairs, she saw Matthew standing in the living room, waiting for her, one hand in his pocket, exuding a lazy yet charming aura.

Dressed in the dress, Madison descended the stairs gracefully, walking towards Matthew in the living room. In just a short two minutes, Madison felt like she was walking down the aisle on her wedding day.

He stood there, and she walked towards him as if it were the entrance of a wedding ceremony.

Both of them looked at each other, their eyes filled with love and affection.
