Chapter 422 Dinner Date with Danielle
When Danielle arrived at the company, Willow shut down her computer and drove her car from the garage to the first floor.
Danielle got into the car and set the restaurant's address in the GPS.
Following the navigation, Willow drove for about half an hour and arrived at the dining spot, which appeared to be a very ordinary restaurant from the outside.
It was a standalone building with a courtyard.
Willow parked the car and, feeling a bit puzzled, followed Danielle out of the car. She asked uncertainly, "Danielle, are you sure this is the place? The GPS isn't wrong, right?"
"No mistake, this is it," Danielle said, pulling her inside.
As they walked, she added, "I came here once with Patrick. The food is really good. Don't be fooled by the exterior; the inside is actually quite nice. Not luxurious, but very clean."
"When did you and Patrick sneak out for good food without me?" Willow pouted.
"You're always hanging out with Mitchell. Do you even have time to come out with us?" Danielle said, leading her into the restaurant and finding a table for two.
"That's not true," Willow said, lowering her head in embarrassment.
"Yes. Think about how rarely we go shopping together. Remember when you promised to go on a trip with me using that money we got from my brother? But you never had the time," Danielle said, quickly placing their order and handing the menu back to the waiter.
"You still bring up last time! You secretly sent photos to Mitchell without me knowing!" Willow's face turned red as she recalled the uniform party before Madison's wedding.
She found out later that Danielle had sent photos to Mitchell and made a lot of money. Danielle had excitedly promised to take her on a trip, but when she learned where the travel fund came from, she was stunned.
Later, she secretly checked Mitchell's phone, hoping to delete the photos, but couldn't find them. She had no idea where Mitchell had stored them.
Seeing her puffed-up cheeks, Danielle quickly poured her a Coke to appease her. "Oh, come on, I figured my brother had already seen them, so why not make some money for us to go on a trip? I promise, it won't happen again. Trust me."
"There definitely won't be a next time!" Willow said, taking a big gulp of Coke.
"No more, I swear," Danielle said, raising her left hand as if taking an oath, making Willow laugh.
Just then, the waiter started bringing out the dishes. Seeing the table full of food, Willow couldn't help but say, "It smells so good. I'm starving just from the smell."
"Go ahead, dig in. Try it. When I came here with Patrick, I thought it was delicious. Their ingredients are really fresh," Danielle said enthusiastically.
The two of them started eating heartily.
With a mouthful of chicken, Danielle mumbled, "Isn't it great? When my brother called and asked me to take you out for dinner, this place was the first that came to mind."
Willow was stunned. "When did Mitchell ask you to take me out for dinner?"
"Just last night. I was already asleep when my brother called, repeatedly reminding me to take you out for dinner tonight. What did you do to make him so worried?" Danielle said, eating non-stop.
Willow lowered her head, her ears turning red, feeling warm inside. She shyly said, "Last night, I was lazy and made some plain pasta for dinner. When Mitchell called, I was eating, and it got soggy, so I didn't finish it."
"So if I hadn't asked you out for dinner today, you would have made plain pasta again, right?" Danielle continued to ask.
"I was planning to have hamburgers downstairs after I got home," Willow replied.
Cooking for one was difficult, and she didn't feel like having a big meal alone, so she had to settle for something simple.
Danielle gave her a thumbs up.
"Impressive. My brother knows you so well. Eat more; after all, it's on him," she said with a smile.
They finished dinner around 8:00 p.m., both very happy and full, having nearly finished all the dishes. Normally, they would take a walk before heading back, but Willow had an early flight to Emerald Isle City for a wedding the next morning, and Danielle had work to do, so they drove straight back.
With Mitchell not around, Danielle stayed with Willow at his apartment.
As soon as they entered, she flopped onto the living room sofa, hugging a throw pillow to her chest, and said happily, "I feel a bit excited. This is my first time staying over at my brother's place."
She looked around, noticing how much the apartment had changed since Willow moved in with Mitchell. She had visited a few times before, and the place used to be filled with simple black, white, and gray furniture and curtains, with very few items, making it look even more monotonous and cold than a hotel room.
Now, it was different. She immediately noticed two orange throw pillows on the sofa, the gray carpet had been replaced, and there were vibrant flowers in a vase on the dining table, along with some cute decorations and assembled Lego sets. Overall, it looked like a home now, bright and colorful. Walking in, she felt a warm and cozy atmosphere, which lifted her spirits.
Since both of them had to get up early the next day, they went straight to shower and then to bed.
Willow had specially changed the bed sheets and duvet cover to clean ones.
Lying in bed together, Danielle seemed a bit excited and kept chatting with Willow.
Mitchell didn't call that night, so Willow sent him a goodnight message on Facebook before going to bed.
Danielle suddenly brought up Cheryl. "Why have I been so unlucky lately, always running into Cheryl? I saw her again on set today, smiling so happily. I need to find some time to go pray; this is too much bad luck."
Willow laughed at her words. "Running into her often means you two are fated."
"Well, if it is, it's definitely a cursed fate," Danielle said angrily.
