Chapter 238 Memories

Willow coughed for quite a while before recovering. She desperately grabbed Daniel's hand and said, "You were just joking with me, right?"

Daniel laid back on the bed and explained what happened last night. "It's true. Everyone saw it. You were holding onto my brother's head and forcefully kissed him, even causing his lip to bleed." Willow stood there completely stunned and asked in disbelief, "I forcefully kissed Mitchell?" She couldn't believe she could do such a shocking thing. "It's impossible. I can't believe I did something like that."

Daniel watched Willow's strange expression on her face. She seemed frightened. Just yesterday, she was so brave. Why was she so scared now after waking up? "What are you worried about? It was just a kiss. It's not like he's lacking anything. Although his lip got cut, and it slightly affects his appearance, don't worry about it." Daniel waved his hand and reassured her with force.

Willow stood beside the bed and despondently asked, "How did I get back to the room last night?"

Daniel stared at the ceiling and answered truthfully, "My brother carried you back. I couldn't carry you. And you had already fallen asleep early. I didn't sleep until midnight." Daniel yawned as he spoke. "I'm so tired. It's still early. I'm going to sleep a little longer." After that, he turned over, pulled the blanket over himself, and prepared to continue sleeping.

Willow suddenly flopped onto her bed, burying her face in the pillow. "What am I going to do? There's no way out. How could I do something so shocking?" She cried out for a while, then suddenly rolled over and lay flat on her back, speaking with great seriousness. "Daniel, you can never let me drink again, absolutely not. Drinking gets in the way, you're right."

Daniel, with his blanket covering him, listened to her crying beside him, naturally unable to sleep. She turned over again and faced Willow. "My brother didn't come to you for compensation for medical expenses and losses. What the hell happened to you?"

Willow turned her head and looked at Daniel with sorrow. "I kissed him forcefully in front of Mitchell's girlfriend. Such behavior will be condemned by morality and conscience. It's not allowed! The law can't punish me, but morality will."

"It's not...it's not that serious. You...you were just drunk and not in your right mind. You didn't know what you were doing. Ignorance is bliss. Haven't you heard of it?" Daniel felt it was getting serious and quickly comforted her.

The two of them lay on the same bed. After all the turmoil, neither of them could sleep. Willow calculated in her mind how to face everyone later, especially seeing Mitchell making mistakes while drunk.

Daniel lay on the bed, thinking about Willow and his brother. Suddenly, he curiously asked, "Willow, you said my brother has someone he likes. Do you know who it is?"

Willow paused for a moment, remembering that she was only a junior in college that year. Although she was busy with her studies, she liked to go to JK Group now and then, pretending to ask for help with her homework so she could see Mitchell frequently. One day, she had no classes in the afternoon and went there with her backpack and textbook. The receptionist had seen her many times and recognized her. She took the elevator by herself, and just as she reached the door of Mitchell's office, she heard voices coming from inside. Willow quickly retracted her hand, relieved that she hadn't barged in and disturbed Mitchell's work. She remembered that she was about to wait in the nearby meeting room for a while when she heard someone say, "President Jonah, I accidentally saw a photo of your sister in your wallet."

Willow stood curiously outside the door, eavesdropping and thinking to herself how great of a brother Mitchell was for keeping Daniel's photo in his wallet. Then, she heard that cold voice say, "Not a sister, but the girl I like." This was the first time Willow heard Mitchell talk about a girl he liked, and she could even imagine the smile on his face and the adoring look in his eyes as he said those words. The conversation inside continued, with the person saying, "Hahaha, so that's it. I saw you in a school uniform, looking like a high school student. I thought you were President Jonah's sister and was thinking of introducing my daughter to you. But it seems like I'm too late."

Mitchell explained, "It was a photo taken when she was in school..."

Willow didn't bother listening to the rest of the conversation. She wasn't self-absorbed enough to think that the girl Mitchell liked was her. Besides, she knew for certain that Mitchell wouldn't have a photo of her in a school uniform because she didn't attend high school in Horizon City. After her parents retired, they traveled around before settling down in South City, so she attended high school there and only returned to Horizon City for college.

That day, she realized that during the three years she was away, Mitchell had found someone he liked.

Willow needed help remembering how she got downstairs or left the building. She only remembered that the receptionist asked her why she was leaving so early, and she made up an excuse about having something to do at school. She asked the receptionist to tell Mitchell she had gone back first and then headed to the school.

After that, she slowly reduced the number of times she went to see Mitchell, keeping her adolescent longing hidden in her heart. She thought that by not seeing him often, she might be able to forget. She spent the next week at school in a daze. Then, one day, Mitchell suddenly came to see her at school and asked why she hadn't been coming to him for help with homework. Willow panicked and made up an excuse about having a lot of classes recently and not having time to go. That day, Mitchell took her to a restaurant outside of school and asked about her academic and personal life, showing great care and attention.

Willow suddenly had a realization again that day. Luckily, she had never revealed her feelings, and they could still sit down and have a meal together and chat. Perhaps if she confessed, Mitchell would accept her, and they would be together, only to eventually break up and become the most familiar strangers. Wouldn't that be more regretful? Willow comforted herself with the thought that if it was just "Mitchell," then he could be "Mitchell" for a lifetime, which wouldn't be too bad. From then on, Willow buried her feelings deeper and deeper, with only Daniel knowing and not allowed to utter a word.

However, saying something is one thing. Doing it is another. So, when she heard him on a blind date with another girl and thought the girl was not bad, she couldn't help but feel sad. She even wondered if his willingness to go on blind dates meant he had given up on the girl in his wallet and if she had a chance. But when she saw him looking at her with cold eyes, she became scared.

She was afraid that if she said certain things, it would ruin their relationship.

She was afraid that she would eventually lose even Mitchell.
