Chapter 400 Having Another Baby
Tonight, Matthew was exceptionally gentle, and Madison felt like she was floating on clouds, drifting here and there.
At the last moment, he seemed to be holding back with great effort, and in a hoarse voice, he whispered in Madison's ear, "Honey, how about we have another baby?"
Madison, in a daze, was slightly taken aback when she heard this, then she smiled and nodded. "Okay."
In fact, both of them loved children. Madison, who grew up with her grandfather, especially cherished the lively atmosphere. Matthew, having lost his parents early, grew up with a few good friends. Because of these friends, he felt that having siblings to support each other and grow up together was a wonderful thing. Moreover, he felt guilty for not being there during Quentin and Hannah's pregnancy and birth. So, both of them were quite looking forward to having another baby.
The two vacationed in Lindell Harbor for a week, thoroughly enjoying their time together, putting aside work and kids. This week was just for the two of them. It was Madison's first time in Lindell Harbor, but she truly fell in love with it. From light blue to deep blue, the city fulfilled all her fantasies about the color blue.
During their wedding, no photographs were released, no lavish motorcade paraded, and no additional ceremonial activities were organized. They both agreed to have a simple but intimate wedding that they liked, so there were no reporters. This time, while on their honeymoon, Madison took the initiative to post a set of photos from Lindell Harbor on Facebook. Shortly after posting, she received many comments, showing that everyone had been eagerly waiting. The netizens immediately recognized that the couple were on their honeymoon and inundated the comments section, asking for more photos.
Madison found these netizens to be incredibly adorable. After some thought, she posted two photos from their wedding day on Facebook. One was a photo of her and Matthew exchanging rings on stage, and the other was a picture of them kissing. Both photos were beautiful, exuding warmth and love.
The netizens, thrilled with the extra photos, especially the employees of JK Group, who had received a big surprise on the wedding day, left congratulatory comments with joy.
Although Matthew and Madison were away, Quentin and Hannah were very happy staying with Gerald and Nancy. Hank also didn't return to Emerald Isle City. After taking over the company, although there were many tasks, it was much easier compared to his previous job, so he stayed in Emerald Isle City, acting as a driver, picking up and dropping off the kids from school. On Friday, Hannah, the clever one, said to him after school, "Uncle Hank, our homeroom teacher is single. Can you be in love with her?"
"Hannah, don't you like me anymore?" Hank asked, pretending to be pitiful.
"No, I like you, Uncle Hank, but I also like my teacher. That's why I want you two to get married," Hannah said innocently from the back seat.
"But if I get married, I won't have time to pick you up and play with you," Hank said, feigning regret.
"Uncle Hank, then you better not get married," Hannah said, tilting her head and thinking seriously for a long time before coming to this conclusion. Hank burst into laughter upon hearing this.
After Madison and Matthew returned from their honeymoon, Hank went back to Emerald Isle City first, while Gerald and Nancy stayed an extra week before returning. They, having spent a week personally taking care of the two kids, were reluctant to leave, so they stayed in Horizon City for another week.
Madison and Matthew shared their plans to have another baby with Gerald, Nancy, and William. They were overjoyed, especially William, who immediately suggested they move to Nelson Mansion. He insisted that Madison shouldn't have to cook or clean and that there would be someone to prepare meals for them. He also offered to help take care of the two kids.
Nancy and Gerald were equally excited. Nancy even considered moving to Horizon City to take care of Madison. Madison knew they would be happy, but she didn't expect them to be this excited. She wasn't even pregnant yet, but they were just in the planning stages. It felt like she was already incapacitated. After much persuasion, Madison and Matthew finally managed to calm them down.
To calm William down, they decided that once Madison was actually pregnant, they would move back to Nelson Mansion. Madison enjoyed the lively atmosphere, so she didn't mind. They planned for Matthew to pick up and drop off the kids, and if he were too busy, they would arrange for a driver to send Madison to pick up the kids. Nancy was reassured to return to Emerald Isle City, as there were still elderly grandparents to take care of, and Madison wasn't pregnant yet.
Gerald and Nancy booked a flight for Saturday, and the two kids went to the airport to see them off. Hannah clung to Nancy's arm, reluctant to let go. She had already cried once at home and, with red eyes, pleaded with Nancy at the airport to come back soon. Quentin, though not as tearful as Hannah, also held onto Gerald's hand, unwilling to let go. Gerald and Nancy almost didn't leave because their hearts melted seeing the kids like this.
In the end, Matthew picked up Hannah and comforted her while Madison held Quentin's hand. The two kids reluctantly waved goodbye to Gerald and Nancy.
Madison confirmed her pregnancy in the second month after their honeymoon, realizing it must have happened during the trip.
It started when Madison noticed her period was a week late. Since her period was usually very regular, she had a hunch. She messaged Matthew on Facebook about her suspicion, and he immediately rushed home from work. As soon as he got home, without saying a word, he picked up Madison and insisted on going to the hospital. Seeing him so flustered, Madison wrapped her arms around his neck and quickly stopped him, saying, "Put me down first. There's no rush to go to the hospital. Let's test it ourselves first. It's too early, so the doctor might not be able to detect it yet."
Matthew stopped in his tracks and asked seriously, "Really?"
Madison nodded firmly. "Yes."
"Then let's test it now. Do we have a pregnancy test at home?" he said, eagerly pulling Madison to go test.
"It's more accurate to test in the morning. Testing now might not be reliable," Madison said, pulling him to sit on the couch and soothingly added, "Don't be nervous. We'll test tomorrow morning, and if it's positive, we'll go to the hospital."
Matthew wrapped his arms around Madison, holding her close. After a moment, he murmured, "Honey, I'm really nervous."
