Chapter 194 The Dea

The following morning, Princess Bella, accompanied by Matthew and a dozen of their personnel, headed to the council hall of the Mystical Scholars Society.

The building was discreet, solid, and dignified, blending seamlessly into its surroundings in a remote area next to a farm adorned with a sea of purple flowers, creating a picturesque scene.

Upon arrival, a few attendants welcomed Bella, Matthew, and their group at the entrance, ushering them into the grand council hall. Once seated, they were served tea.

Bella and Matthew sat with poise, taking in the magnificence and splendor of the hall, which resembled a palace. Soon, the other party arrived, and Matthew was surprised to see the man who had addressed him as 'Matthew' on the cruise. He appeared to be in good terms with the head of the Mystical Scholars Society, possibly indicating his membership. Though curious, Matthew chose not to inquire, silently observing the man.

Bella, unaware of the past interaction between Victor and Matthew, assumed Victor was another member of the Mystical Scholars Society.

To her surprise, the owner of the Mystical Scholars Society was quite young, appearing to be in his early thirties. Business commenced swiftly, with Bella laying out the diamonds on the table.

For the society, acquiring these diamonds was a routine affair, and the transaction proceeded smoothly.

As they prepared to depart, the Godfather of the Mystical Scholars Society interjected, proposing another deal. "Please wait a moment, Bella. How about we discuss another deal?" he suggested.

Intrigued, Bella agreed to listen.

The Godfather proposed taking their country's future diamond shipments in exchange for Matthew staying behind.

Bella was taken aback by the unexpected request. She refused to treat Matthew as a bargaining chip, asserting, "I'm sorry, he is our security, not a bargaining chip."

Observing Bella's unwavering stance, Victor noted her genuine concern for Matthew.

Victor intervened with a gentle smile, highlighting the value of maintaining a long-term relationship with the Mystical Scholars Society.

Bella weighed her options carefully, torn between her loyalty to Matthew and the benefits of securing a stable buyer for their diamonds. She tentatively inquired about Matthew's potential conflict with the society.
However, she worried that Matthew might have previously offended the Mystical Scholars Society and that sending him off with them would mean sending him into a lion's den.

"What are you going to do with him? Does he have a beef with you?" Bella asked tentatively.

The head of the Mystical Scholars Society gently smiled. "Rest easy, Bella. We're merely fulfilling someone's request to locate someone.

Relieved that it wasn't a matter of vendetta, Bella affirmed Matthew's freedom to choose. "Matthew is his own man; I'm not holding him against his will. He can go wherever he desires, depending on his choice." Bella stepped forward, extending her hand, "Pleasure doing business."

Upon leaving, Bella and Matthew retired to their hotel rooms. Bella, feeling conflicted, opened a bottle of wine, contemplating the difficult decision she faced. As a leader burdened with. She didn't want to let go of Zero, but she also knew she couldn't keep him. She was the nation's Bella, with the weight of immense responsibilities, she grappled with the conflicting desires of her heart and the needs of her nation. Ultimately, she resigned herself to the necessity of letting go of Matthew, recognizing that it was for the greater good to reunite him with his loved ones.

Returning to the hotel, Matthew didn't head directly to his room; instead, he took the elevator down to the 22nd floor. There, he found himself outside room 2203, hesitating at the door before finally deciding to knock. Just as he raised his hand, the door swung open from the inside.

Madison, taken aback by the unexpected visitor, greeted him with surprise, "Matthew, were you looking for me?"

A hint of embarrassment colored Matthew's cheeks as he nodded and cleared his throat, "Yeah, I was wondering if you'd like to go out and explore a bit."

Madison's face lit up with enthusiasm as she nodded eagerly, "Sure."

The two embarked on a leisurely exploration of the picturesque city. They visited Paradise Isle Square, stood beneath the chiming bell tower, and soaked in the sunlight, surrounded by the gentle flutter of pigeon wings. The Paradise Isle Cathedral gleamed in the sunlight, a magnificent sight to behold. They concluded their outing with a lavish seafood dinner. As night descended, the bustling nightlife of Lunaria gradually quieted, and the lights illuminating the city's handmade glasswork dimmed one by one.

In the quiet beauty of the night, Madison silently appreciated Lunaria's charm, wishing for time to slow down. She didn't know if Matthew shared her sentiment, but being by his side in that moment meant everything to her.

They wandered through the tranquil alleys, illuminated by streetlights, reluctant to return to the hotel.

With cautious hope, Madison ventured to ask, "Matthew, how have you been dealing with your amnesia?"

Matthew, seemingly accustomed to her addressing him as such, replied, "I've been on the cruise ship, recovering from an injury for a while."

Madison pressed further, "Have you ever thought about looking for your family?"

Matthew fell silent momentarily before revealing, "She gave me false memories. I always believed I was an orphan. It never crossed my mind until I met you guys."

Madison wanted to inquire about his belief in her and his willingness to return to Horizon City, but before she could articulate her thoughts, Matthew interrupted, "We're back."

They had arrived back at the hotel sooner than expected.

Upon reaching the hotel, Matthew escorted Madison to her room, where they unexpectedly encountered Victor and Dorian waiting at the door. Dorian's expression turned reproachful upon seeing Madison, "Where have you been? Do you have any idea how worried we were?" Victor chimed in, "Yeah, Madison, why couldn't we reach you on the phone? We were really concerned."

Madison checked her phone, only to realize it had died. She apologized sincerely, "I'm sorry for worrying you. My phone died."

Dorian's attention shifted upon noticing Matthew's presence, causing him to stutter, "You... both of you... why are you together?"
