Chapter 100 Car Washed White
On the empty desk, there was only the blue brocade box placed.
Luann's mind was in a whirl, her gaze fixed on it for a long time.
Loud footsteps came from downstairs.
Bang!
Holly rushed in, panting heavily and swallowing hard with a dry throat.
She stopped beside the desk, extending her sweaty hand and slowly opening it.
"It's the same..."
During her recent trip to the United States, she had forgotten to give Adolph the cufflinks that Luann had entrusted to her.
She had been thinking about when to send them over when Luann called her.
"So... so you mean, the person who took your first time at the hotel that night was actually your current husband, Myron?"
Holly was amazed.
Luann looked at the identical pair of cufflinks and deeply sighed before nodding.
"Oh my..."
Holly found it hard to believe.
"This is too incredible!"
"It's even rarer than winning five million in the lottery!"
"Luann, does Myron really not know that it was you that night?"
"If he knew, why didn't he tell you?"
"And, has he investigated the hotel incident?"
"If he didn't know that it, was you, then he's incredibly irresponsible. He just left without taking any responsibility!"
Listening to Holly's barrage of questions, Luann felt her head spinning.
"I don't know either now."
"Well, I'll go ask!" Holly, full of courage, took a step forward to leave.
When she reached the door, she turned back hesitantly.
"Why didn't you stop me?"
"Your husband is so terrifying; wouldn't he kill me if I went over?"
Luann patted the seat next to her.
Holly obediently sat down.
"Luann, what are you thinking?"
"Actually, let's look at it from a positive perspective. At least that man is your husband now, which makes sense both emotionally and logically."
After saying that, she paused.
Muttering softly, "It's not right; it's still you who's getting the short end."
"This guy is so ugly, ahh!"
Luann touched her forehead with her hand, "When he comes back, I plan to ask him."
"Okay." Holly held her hand but found it uncomfortably cold.
While feeling heartbroken, she mentally berated Wilber, that scumbag!
If not for him, Luann would have been framed by Juliet and ended up in Myron's bed, wouldn't she?
She had initially thought that teaching him a lesson today would be enough, but now it seemed that even a hundred dismemberments wouldn't be enough!
A flicker of anger sparkled in Holly's beautiful eyes, sometimes bright, sometimes dim.
...
After a busy afternoon, he could finally lie down in bed and rest properly.
Wilber collapsed on it and casually took out two stomach pills from the bedside table, swallowing them.
Just as he was dozing off, the buzzing vibration woke him up.
Annoyed, he turned over and his expression changed when he saw the displayed name above.
"Miss Holly!"
"What are you doing?" Holly's sweet voice sounded like honey, dispelling Wilber's weariness.
"Just finished handling a project for the company."
"Mr. Gilbert, you are truly hardworking, still busy with work at this late hour. Such a model worker."
Holly giggled, "I really hope to find a boyfriend like you in the future. After all, men who work seriously are the most handsome."
Wilber felt a bit embarrassed by the compliments.
"Miss Holly, you flatter me."
"For the hardworking Mr. Gilbert, how about going out for a cup of tea to relax? I know a nice place with not many people."
When Wilber heard the last four words, his forehead throbbed fiercely.
As a man, he naturally sensed the woman's implication.
He immediately got up.
"Send me the address, I'll come over right away."
"I'm already at your doorstep, Mr. Gilbert. Don't rush, take your time."
Wilber hastily unbuckled his belt, taking it off while heading towards the bathroom.
In a hurry, he took a quick shower and washed his hair.
He sprayed hair gel and meticulously styled his hair in front of the mirror.
Finally, he picked up the perfume that Juliet had sent him and sprayed some on himself.
After doing all of this, he grabbed his phone and quickly left the villa.
"Mr. Gilbert."
Holly waved at Wilber, but sighed inwardly. This car got cleaned up nicely!
"Miss Holly, thank you for picking me up," Wilber said, forcing a warm smile despite his stomach discomfort.
He was skilled at wearing such an expression, giving himself a perfect mask. It was effortless for his elegant and refined appearance to capture a woman's heart.
"It's no trouble at all. It's an honor to see you dressed so handsomely," Holly flattered, though her gaze quickly shifted away from him.
Any random guy in a bar would look better than him!
Even that middle-aged man, Eddy, could outshine him by miles!
The car drove towards a secluded road, with fewer and fewer people on the way.
A café stood alone at this location, still open for business.
Inside, there were only a handful of customers.
"When I'm not in a good mood, I like to come here and have some desserts," Wilber said, stepping out of the car and surveying the surrounding narrow alleyways.
He couldn't help but remind, "Miss Holly, it's dangerous for a girl like you to come here."
"Alright," Holly smiled, her eyes half-closed, and she immediately hooked her arm through his.
Wilber's pupils contracted, excitement uncontrollably flickering in his eyes, and his facial expression almost faltered.
Once inside the café, the two of them sat by the window, chatting and eating.
Wilber had no appetite, so he watched her eat, listened to her speak, perfectly embodying the role of a boyfriend.
"Mr. Gilbert, won't you find me talkative?" Holly stirred her coffee, a slight smile on her face as she asked.
"No, I love listening to you talk," he replied earnestly.
"You are so kind. You accompany me shopping, have meals with me, and now you can even listen to my troubles. Sometimes, I envy Miss Juliet for having such an outstanding boyfriend like you," Holly said, partly shocked.
"Oh, I broke up with Juliet." Wilber quickly clarified, afraid that she might misunderstand.
"Is that so?" Holly's voice held a hint of surprise.
"But, does that mean I have a chance now?"
Wilber chuckled softly, revealing what he thought was an extremely charming smile.
"That question should be asked by me." Holly retorted.
When they left the café, it was already eleven o'clock at night.
The two of them walked into a quiet alley, preparing to get their car.
But at that moment, five or six burly figures appeared out of nowhere, surrounding them.
Their eyes leered at Holly.
"Not bad."
"Yeah, boss, this girl is fine!"
Holly, like a startled little rabbit, panicked and hid behind Wilber, grabbing onto his clothes tightly.
A protective instinct surged within Wilber. He straightened his back, his face stern, and shouted angrily, "Get lost!"
"Hahaha, the little brat dares to tell us to get lost?"
"You want to play the hero and save the beauty? You should weigh your own capabilities first!"
"I advise you to stay away and give us your woman."
"Otherwise, today you won't leave unscathed!"
