Chapter 258 Disturbance

<Chapter>Chapter 258 Disturbance </Chapter>

Being able to stay at Holly's place overnight was the biggest progress Eddy had made in a long time.

He happily lay on the couch, watching Holly settle Little Yellow and head upstairs.
Little yellow stood up, unwillingly attempting to climb the stairs.

But because the stairs were too high and its legs were too short, it flopped around for a while without being able to jump up.

Eddy squinted his eyes and muttered, "What a dumb dog."

Little Yellow's ears twitched and it turned its head back as if understanding what he was saying, and it raised its nose in disdain towards him.

"Tsk, don't want to hear a few words I say to you?"

Holly, hearing the noise from the stairs, turned around in surprise and looked.
She couldn't help feeling speechless.

This Eddy was acting too familiar, even bothering a little dog.
Little yellow hummed in its throat, seemingly quite dissatisfied.

It quickly ran to Eddy's side, forcefully scratching at the edge of the couch but couldn't jump up.
Eddy looked at it, amusement evident on his face.

However, this expression seemed like a provocation to Little Yellow.

It took a few steps back, exerted all its strength, and jumped onto a short stool next to the carpet, then crawled up from the stool onto the coffee table with a slight tilt, and finally leaped, landing askew on the couch.

Little Yellow straightened its body and stopped being restless, instead happily stepping on Eddy's leg and slowly climbing up.

It was very small in size, so stepping on him didn't have much weight.
Soon, it reached Eddy's waist.

Then it lifted its leg.
Eddy swiftly turned over.

Little yellow proudly lifted its chin, squinting its grape-like eyes contentedly and sticking out its tongue, as if responding to Eddy's earlier scolding.

Eddy's mouth twitched and he grabbed its nape, throwing it down.
He controlled his strength well, and with the carpet as cushioning, Little Yellow wasn't harmed at all. Instead, it leisurely spun in circles on the carpet.

"If it weren't for Holly liking you, I would definitely have to deal with you," Eddy said, looking at the damaged sofa, knowing that their dream night was probably shattered.

"Go find Holly, she definitely won't blame Little Yellow," he suggested.

"But by that time, I might still be the one getting scolded," Eddy pondered for a moment, grabbing a thin blanket and heading upstairs to sit outside Holly's door.

When the sun was high, Holly finally got up.

With tousled hair, she intended to go downstairs to fetch something for Little Yellow to eat before returning to freshen up.

However, as soon as she opened the door, a figure toppled over.

"Oh my god!" Holly was startled and quickly took two steps back, realizing it was Eddy, a little annoyed.

"What are you doing?" she asked. "Scaring people first thing in the morning?"

With sleepy eyes, Eddy opened his gaze, looking somewhat pitiful. "No, I slept here all night," he said.

Frowning, Holly asked, "Are you crazy? You had a sofa to sleep on, why sleep at my door?"

"Little Yellow peed on the sofa and took over my spot, I had no choice," Eddy said innocently, his face full of innocence.

Holly's mouth twitched.

Seriously? The first time she let Little Yellow inside, he ruined her sofa.

"Even if what you said is true, couldn't you find a guest room to sleep in? My house is big, it's not like there’s only this one room," Holly suggested.

Head bowed, Eddy became more and more aggrieved as he spoke. "I can feel that you don't want me here."

"So, without your permission, I won't intrude," he added.

Holly opened her mouth but couldn't find the right words. She looked at the redness in Eddy's eyes and knew he hadn't slept well.

Helplessly, she covered her forehead. "Forget it, just go get some rest."

"Perfect timing, I'll go get something for Little Yellow to eat and buy our lunch," Eddy nodded, walking towards the room very self-consciously.

Originally, Holly wanted him to sleep in the guest room, but as she remembered his appearance sitting outside the door all night, the words on the tip of her tongue went through several changes before she swallowed them back down.

After preparing Little Yellow's dog food, Holly returned to the room and saw that Eddy was already fast asleep. She then went into the bathroom to take a shower.

Downstairs, a soft sound of a door being locked could be heard.

Luann walked in from outside.

Not being able to contact Holly for a long time made her worry, so she took the opportunity during lunchtime to come and check on her.

A clear bark sounded.

Luann looked over and saw Little Yellow happily standing on the sofa, vigorously wagging his tail.

She froze.

Last time she came, there wasn't a puppy, and Holly doesn't keep dogs, does she?
Little Yellow jumped off the couch and walked over to Luann, sniffing around her and then rubbing against her feet affectionately.

Luann bent down and gently petted it before heading upstairs.

The bedroom door was not closed.

Luann pushed the door open.

"Holly, why haven't you been answering my calls these past few days?" Her words came to a sudden halt.

She saw Eddy on the bed, lazily turning his head towards her with a pair of smiling eyes staring at her.

Most importantly, the guy wasn't wearing any clothes, with a blanket covering his waist.

The sound of running water continued from the bathroom.

Luann glanced at Eddy, then at the bathroom, and immediately understood.

"Sorry for interrupting," Luann said, conscious of leaving.

Eddy waved his hand, "No need to see me out."

Luann hurriedly went downstairs.

She rushed out of the villa without any hesitation and got into the car.

Myron, who was waiting quietly in the car, looked at her curiously, "Why did you come out so soon?"

"Eddy is in there," Luann cleared her throat.

Myron raised an eyebrow.

Did Eddy really get Holly so quickly?

"Let's go then."

Myron started the car, "Alright, back to the office."

"Mhm."

After dropping Luann off at the office, Myron went off to do other things.

Luann sat in her chair, swinging back and forth, her mind seemingly elsewhere.

Joshua was not far from her, occasionally glancing at her.

"Hey, it's pretty obvious that you're slacking off, isn't it?"

Luann said lightly, "Do you have a problem with that?"

Joshua paused, shaking his head vigorously.

No.

Although he hated Luann, he had to admit that this woman had an extremely perverse talent for efficiency in her work.

Knock knock knock--

Someone knocked on the door.

An employee walked in and handed her a contract.

"Director, the chairman wants you to personally discuss this collaboration."

"Alright."

Luann reached out and took it, realizing that the deal was quite substantial.

She stood up and glanced at Joshua.

"Do you want to come with me?"

The employee hesitated for a moment and hurriedly said, "Director, the chairman instructed that this collaboration is crucial, so it would be best if you go alone."

Upon hearing this, Joshua became displeased and snatched the document from Luann's hand.

"I've been the director for so many years, I've dealt with all sorts of projects. Is there a need to be so guarded against me?"

"Forget it, you go on your own then!"
