Chapter 74 Ruthless

Listening to the secretary's translation, everyone present was dumbfounded. According to what Luann had just said.

"Well, it's actually owned by my family."

But it was not true.

Poor Luann turned out to really have the rights to those two roads! This earth-shattering news was like throwing a huge stone into a calm lake, causing massive ripples! The most embarrassed of all was Alisha.

She couldn't even spare a thought as to why Luann had such power. She only knew that she had staged a foolish play. Luann looked at the foreign liquors on the table.

'Your employees seem quite enthusiastic, wanting to have a drink with me as soon as we met,' he said. Josh felt his eyelids twitch. He and Luann were friends but also had a hierarchical relationship.

This matter had escalated to a point where it could still be salvaged. If her two brothers were to find out about it, it would not be so easily resolved. Josh made a quick decision. 'Oh? Is that so?'

His gaze swept across Dylan's work badge hanging from his chest. 'Dylan, I never realized you enjoyed drinking so much.' 'Well, in that case, you should have a drink with us,' Dylan said, trembling as he looked at the bottles of alcohol.

He would have to drink them all... His life would have to be entrusted to this today! 'V-vi-vice... vice president... I-I...' Dylan stuttered, approaching him as Josh spoke in a voice only they could hear.

'Do you want the liquor?' 'Or your life?' Dylan shivered, without saying a word, and picked up a bottle. Glug— The sound of swallowing water was audible. As the alcohol entered his mouth, the wounds all felt like they were stung with salt. The drink that hadn't been swallowed yet trickled down his mouth and dropped onto the ground.

Luann glanced casually at the floor. Josh immediately scolded, 'Are you mocking me? The spilled alcohol, you're licking it off the ground!'

Luann lazily leaned against the table, a faint smile on his lips. The smile was elegant, but it sent chills down everyone's spine. It wasn't until this very moment that they truly realized that Luann had a background, and it was not as simple as what they saw and heard.

Despite the many people crowded both outside and inside the office, it was extremely quiet, with only Dylan's pained gulping audible. Just then, mischievous alcohol slipped into Dylan's windpipe, causing him to cough, and his bottle fell to the ground.

The splendid-colored liquor spread on the pristine white tiles. Dylan's eyes widened like copper bells, empty and hollow. And in a split second, he received a hard kick on his bum. He fell awkwardly, almost touching the broken glass shards with his eyes. 'Drink it all, not a single drop left!' Josh emphasized each word.

Dylan pushed himself up with both hands, trembling arms and gasping breaths. This was a battle of dignity within his heart. 'What the hell are you hesitating for! Do you want me to feed you myself?' Josh angrily shouted. Dylan slowly lowered his head. Everyone closed their eyes, unable to bear watching anymore. Alisha tightly bit her lip, gripping the person next to her...

Carlton murmured softly, "Luann is really ruthless..."

"Dylan might have been disrespectful in his words, but he shouldn't be insulted like this..."

"After this incident, how can he continue in this industry..."

Carlton's throat grumbled, although he didn't say a word, it was clear that he had the same thoughts.

The alcohol on the ground slowly disappeared.

Dylan picked up a new bottle and continued pouring.

Time seemed to stretch for an eternity.

Dylan stopped.

His stomach churned, and he couldn't help but vomit.

A foul smell filled the air.

The vomit was mixed with blood.

Alisha exclaimed, "Blood... he's vomiting blood!"

Drinking until he vomits blood, obviously his stomach is severely injured.

Alisha couldn't hold back anymore.

"Luann, we came here this time to discuss cooperation!"

"I know, Dylan treated you unfairly here."

"But... there's no need to be so heartless to him!"

A soft mist covered Luann's beautiful almond eyes, her watery gaze shining dark and bright.

Casually tucking a strand of hair behind her ear, she tilted her head slightly.

A mix of innocence and allure.

"Helping count money after being sold?"

Alisha didn't understand.

Luann walked up to the exhausted Dylan and kicked his knee.

"Don't you plan to talk about what happened in the bar?"

Dylan held his stomach in pain, his whole body slumped like a deflated ball.

Alisha puzzled, "What do you mean?"

Luann leaned her slim waist against the table.

"If it wasn't for me, you'd probably be lying on Dylan's bed right now."

"That foreigner who pulled you yesterday, his VIP room was 303."

"They put a lot of drugs in the drinks in that room."

Alisha's teeth chattered. She knew. If it wasn't for Luann's intervention yesterday, something might have really happened to her.

"But... this has... nothing to do with Dylan..."

Luann interrupted her.

"Maybe you don't understand well. Every VIP suite in the bar you went to offers year-round service, only available to cardholders and not open to the public."

"And this year, Dylan is the user of suite 303."

All of this was summarized and sent to her by the backstage staff of the bar after she returned to the hotel yesterday. Alisha's figure swayed. She almost fell.

"If you want to protect someone who has ill intentions towards you, then be my guest."

Luann shrugged, indifferent.

After hearing these words, Carlton cursed out several obscenities.

"Damn it, and here I thought of you as a good brother!"

"After so many years, I can't believe you still have your eyes on my wife. I'll kill you!"

Grinding his teeth, he kicked Dylan repeatedly. Alisha stood still, tears silently streaming down her face. Luann took a step towards the exit.

"I'm hungry, Josh. Take me out for a meal."

"Sure, sure!"

Josh happily followed along, like an obedient puppy. Leaving behind the bewildered people in the office.

Once Carlton vented enough, he tightly embraced Alisha, patiently and gently comforting her by her ear.

As for Dylan, he had long been knocked unconscious by Carlton's attack and was taken to the hospital.

"I'm sorry, Alisha, it's my fault. I was careless. I should've noticed this scoundrel's ill intentions towards you earlier, especially since he had feelings for you for so many years. "I neglected it, causing you to almost get into trouble. We will never contact him again, we'll return to our country tomorrow!"
