Chapter 331 Give It Back to Me

Mike slammed his hand on the table. It seemed that he was fury.

The water in the cup shook, causing a small spill.

It took a moment for the water to settle.
"Luann! What kind of beastly words are you saying!"

Luann pointed her finger at Mike.

She spoke to Juliet, "Listen , he was full of vigor. Does he look sick ?"

Juliet immediately gave Mike a look.

Mike got into character quickly, covering his mouth and coughing violently, his shoulders trembling.

Fuming with anger, he exclaimed, "Well! What a good daughter I have!"

Juliet pressed her red lips together, her voice filled with deep sorrow. She said, "Luann, I understand that you spent eighteen years away from us, and it's natural for our relationship to be strained. But no matter what, we share the same blood."

"But we share the same blood."

"Even if Dad has neglected some of his duties as a father, can't you be a bit more forgiving?"

Luann took a slow sip of water and said, "I have already shown you the greatest tolerance by allowing you to continue acting here."

Juliet's brow furrowed. She hadn't expected Luann to be so unyielding.

However, Juliet knew well that a few words alone wouldn't easily get money from Luann.

Juliet took out a result sheet from her bag and said, "Luann, whether we are lying or not, see for yourself!"

"If you don't believe it, you can confront the hospital!"

Luann picked it up and glanced at it casually. She was indeed half-believing and half-doubting.

"He was really sick?"

Juliet hesitated, seeming to be extremely upset, yet reluctant to speak harshly

"Who would joke about their own health! Of course, it's real!" Juliet said.

Luann responded with a sound.

Juliet couldn't believe her ears and said, "Your reply is so simple!"

"So, what do you need? Money?" Luann said indifferently.

With their intentions laid bare, Mike felt a tinge of embarrassment, his face turning slightly red.

"You know, the Weaver family's situation is dire now, and even the normal operation of the company is struggling."

Luann smiled faintly, "I can give you money, but I have one condition."

"You say it!"

"Return the Weaver family to me."

As soon as Luann finished speaking, Mike's face changed instantly.

"What did you say?"He said,

Luann asked in confusion, "Is your illness affecting your hearing too? Can't you hear clearly?"

"Luann, your demand is too much! Are you trying to push us to the brink?" Mike seemed unwilling to hand it over.

"Didn't you say it yourself? The company can't operate anymore. What's the use of holding onto it? You might as well give it back to me. After all, it was originally left to me by Mom, wasn't it? You can't just keep it to yourself."

Mike genuinely coughed. "You already have so much money. Why are you still eyeing my small business!"

"Ranked at the top of the global art market for ten consecutive years, your wealth must be overflowing!"
Luann smiled. "No, it's hundreds of billions."

Mike was stunned.

He took a sharp breath.

Mike thought he was exaggerating. Even the renowned Curtis family couldn't match Luann's current level.

Luann kindly reminded, "That's just the price of the paintings."

Mike finally realized something was wrong.

"Luann, what exactly do you want to do?" Luann lifted her chin slightly, her dark and translucent eyes reflecting an enigmatic coldness under the illumination of the light."

Mike felt a chill in his heart, causing him to hesitate in continuing the conversation.
Instead, he changed the subject. "How much are you willing to pay to buy the Weaver family?"

"One million," Luann said indifferently.

Mike was furious, his eyes wide, his cheeks puffed up with anger. He said,"One million? Are you kidding me!"

Luann's smile didn't waver. "You know better than I do the current situation of the Weaver family."

"One million is already a favor to you." Mike gritted his teeth, "Even if I have to let the Weaver family rot in my hands, I will never give it to you!"

"Fine," Luann said calmly, "Do as you wish. The Weaver family is of no use to me now anyway." It was just a memory of her mother.

Since she had tried to negotiate nicely with Mike, but he refused. So he couldn't blame her for using other means to take it back later.

Luann stood up, and Juliet grabbed her, saying, "Luann."
Luann nonchalantly shook off her hand, her voice lazy, "Don't worry. I won't let Dad go bankrupt. But I need a couple of days to arrange the money, don't I?"

Juliet's eyes lit up, "Then I'll wait for your good news."

"Bye-bye."

After Luann left, Juliet finally breathed a sigh of relief.

Mike was a bit incredulous and said, "Will she really give us money?"

Juliet could only comfort him, "Luann doesn't seem like the type to break her word. Let's wait a couple of days! If it doesn't work out, Dad, you can go to the Curtis family! After all, we are relatives with the Curtis family."

Mike nodded, "You're right."

He sighed, "Originally, all of this should have been yours. I never thought it would all fall into Luann's hands."

"It's really unfair! You missed out on such an excellent man."

Juliet bit her lip.

Every time she thought about Myron's face and his tall, handsome figure, her heart fluttered.
Especially since he was so wealthy and protective of his wife back then.

Every move he made deeply touched her.

If she had married Myron back then, she wouldn't be under the control of Dawn Talent Agency and James now.

She would be comfortably lying in the Curtis family mansion, served by servants, buying whatever she wanted. And she would have no worries about money.

"Dad," Juliet said, "I don't blame you. It's Luann who was too cunning, getting involved with Myron ahead of time."

"Yes," Mike said with a bit of melancholy.

'If Juliet were the one standing next to Myron today, he would have all the money he wanted.

Unlike Luann, who wouldn't give him a penny even if he begged. So stingy!'Mike said.

"Dad, don't think too much. Let's eat something."

"Alright." After dinner, Mike was a bit restless.

He left the villa and sat for a while on a stone bench in the back garden.

"Luann's intention to return to the Weaver family is definitely not that simple."

"Could she really know that I was the one behind that car accident years ago?"Mike muttered.
