Chapter 339 Paying Rent

His phone buzzed in his pocket, the sound piercing and distinct. Outside the door,

Outside the door, Eddy realized that Holly must be in trouble.

"She got married, but why didn't you tell me?" Williams asked word by word.

Holly remained silent for a moment, composing herself. "By the time I found out, it was already done. Informing you wouldn't have changed anything."
Williams let out a cold laugh, "You all kept it from me. Before you did, you must have known what would happen if you made me angry."

"If you really have the guts, go tell Luann these things yourself. Don't just venting your frustration in front of me."Holly said.

She had long realized that something was wrong with Williams.

Everyone knew about Luann and Myron's marriage.

It would be too easy for him to find out where Luann was living now.

Yet, he chose to come to her instead.
Clearly, he was indecisive.

And he wasn't sure about Luann's feelings for Myron and was afraid that acting rashly would really anger Luann.

Williams asked bluntly, "Does she love him?"

Holly hesitated for a moment and said,"She loves him very much."

Williams let go of his grip.

With that, Williams released his grip, leaving a faint red mark around Holly's neck.
"They've only known each other for a short time. Loving him very much doesn't make sense."

Holly shook her head helplessly and thought,'He's beyond help.Nothing anyone says will make a difference.'

Back in Unionia, both Adolph and her had dropped countless hints to Williams, but none of it had made a difference.
After finished speaking, he leaped from the window.

In an instant, he was gone.

Holly quickly took out her phone and sent a message to Luann.

[Williams came.]

After sending it, she walked to the door to let Eddy in.

Eddy looked tense, scanning her up and down, his gaze stopping at her neck.

"What happened?" he asked, his tone serious, pulling her out from behind him and cautiously inspecting the room.
Holly shook her head, "It's nothing. Don't worry."

Eddy knew something major must have happened just now.

But since Holly didn't want to talk about it, he wouldn't press her.

He just said, "It's too dangerous here. Move in with me."

Holly's mouth twitched and said, "Are you taking advantage of the situation?"

Eddy remained unfazed, "I'm offering help in a time of need."

Holly rolled her eyes and said, "Give me a break. We shouldn't contact each other for a while."

'If Williams really went crazy and did something, wouldn't Eddy be dragged into it too?' Holly thought.

"No way." Eddy refused flatly, "I'm staying with you."

Holly looked completely exasperated.

"Are you in a hurry to die?"

"If it's related to that, I'm even less comfortable leaving you alone."

Holly waved her hand.

"There's no need."

"Our cooperation ends here."

Eddy frowned, "What do you mean?"

"Since the Miller family is involved, I believe Myron will soon discover the truth," Holly explained, frustration evident in her voice. "There's no point in continuing our cooperation, and I'm no longer your girlfriend."
Eddy stared at her intently, "Are you serious?"

"Of course."

This matter had nothing to do with Eddy in the first place.

Eddy was silent for a moment, "Will you die?"

"No." Holly's tone was particularly firm.

'Williams absolutely wouldn't dare to act rashly against her.

After all, Luann was protecting her.' Holly thought.

"So if I die for you, will you remember me forever?" Eddy suddenly asked this question.

Holly looked at him as if he were an idiot.

She said,"Are you out of your mind?"

"Why would you die for someone else?"

Eddy's tone was light and carefree.

"Because I like you."

Holly was both embarrassed and annoyed.

"You! You're crazy!"

But deep down, she couldn't deny that she was moved by his words.
"Don't think I didn' you said all those things was to keep me out of danger." Eddy wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her into his embrace, "So can I take it that you care about me and are worried about me?"

Holly gritted her teeth and said, "You're too narcissistic and imaginative."

Eddy chuckled softly and leaned down to plant a light kiss on her reddened neck.

"I just want to tell you that you can try to rely on me."

Holly was slightly stunned.

She pushed him away forcefully.

"Alright, alright, I get it. It's late and I need to sleep."

Eddy waved the takeout in his hand, "Are you sure you won't let me in?"

"Come in."

Back in the living room, Holly sat on the couch, still feeling anxious.

She couldn't shake off the fear that Williams might burst in again.
She seemed distracted and out of sorts.

"I was serious just now. You can come to my place to sleep."Eddy said.

Holly shook her head, "No, Sarah is still here."

"Bring her along."

Holly still refused, "No, I can't sleep well in a different bed."

This time, Eddy didn't say anything more.

After finishing the takeout, he left.

Holly sat alone in the dark living room, her nerves stretched to the limit.

She was a bit scared.

She had no idea how much time had passed when the sharp sound of the doorbell suddenly rang out, cutting through the tense atmosphere like a small knife.
Holly's hair stood on end.

She got up to open the door.

She found that Eddy had come back, dragging a suitcase.

Holly looked puzzled, "What are you doing?"

"You said you can't sleep in a different bed. I can sleep anywhere." Eddy placed several stacks of money on the table, smiling with narrowed eyes, "Here's six months' rent. I'll renew when the time comes."

"You're too much."

Eddy ignored her words, carrying his suitcase upstairs.

"Wait, that's the master bedroom, my room."

"You sleep in the guest room!"

Eddy started putting his clothes in Holly's closet.

"Sorry, I paid for the master bedroom."

"Huh? What's this?"

Eddy's gaze swept over some clothes in the corner.

"Didn't know you were into cosplay?"

Holly said righteously, "Is that a problem?"

"Of course not." Eddy murmured, "It might come in handy for other activities in the future."

"What did you say?" His voice was so low that Holly didn't catch it.

Eddy shook his head, "Nothing, I want to take a shower and then sleep, okay?"

Holly waved her hand dismissively, "Go ahead."

At worst, she'd sleep in the guest room.

When Eddy came out, Holly was already gone.

Holly was in the next room, wrapped in a blanket, eyes closed.

But she couldn't fall asleep.

Holly did have trouble sleeping in a different bed, and Williams' intrusion made her very worried about Luann's safety.

Her phone buzzed twice, indicating a new message. It was a reply from Luann.
[Did he come to find you?]
