Chapter 473 Holding Her in a Meeting
A sleek sports car pulled up in front of the company building.
Andrew had been waiting at the entrance and took a few steps forward when he saw it.
His intuition told him that the person inside was definitely Luann.
Definitely, the car door opened and a slender figure gracefully stepped out.
She wore simple, clean white sneakers and a light gray trench coat.
Her hair was loosely tied up in a bun, giving her a youthful and vibrant look.
Anyone who didn't know better would think Luann was just an eighteen-year-old college student.
Andrew was momentarily stunned by Luann's pure and beautiful face.
Even though he had seen photos of Luann, he marveled internally that she was ten, no, a hundred times more beautiful in person.
Andrew rapidly stepped forward and gave Luann a slight smile, saying, "Mrs. Curtis."
Luann tilted her head slightly and greeted, "Hello."
"I am Mr. Curtis's assistant, Andrew. Mr. Curtis specifically instructed me to wait for you here. Please follow me upstairs." Andrew voiced.
"Alright, Andrew," Luann replied.
Although it was already 6:30, the employees in the entire building were still diligently working.
Seeing this, Luann asked, "Is this considered overtime?"
She never liked making employees work overtime because it would lower their efficiency the next day and could even cause dissatisfaction.
So, her company always had a strict policy of leaving work on time.
Should any newcomers attempt to linger in an effort to impress, they would be swiftly ushered away by the vigilant security guards on patrol.
Andrew explained, "We never advocate for forced overtime; they are all voluntary."
"After 6 PM, we provide some food every half hour."
"The cafeteria reopens, offering Chinese, Korean, Japanese, and Western cuisines."
"The company shuttle bus runs every fifteen minutes instead of every hour, until 11 PM."
"If someone works overtime more than ten times a month, we increase their salary by forty percent." Andrew constantly explained.
As he spoke, dedicated staff began distributing gift packs.
Luann reached out to get one. Inside, she found several snacks, including chips and dried fruits, a small dessert cake, two fruit plates, a cup of coffee, and a cup of milk tea.
Just eating these could fill you up.
In essence, they were providing dinner, transportation, and overtime pay. Naturally, many people wanted to stay. This was quite a clever strategy.
The two stopped at the conference room door.
Andrew was about to push the door open but was stopped by Luann.
"I'll wait for him here." Luann cooed.
They were discussing important matters inside. Although she and Myron were a couple, she felt it was best to avoid any potential business secrets.
After all, she had married Myron to investigate the Curtis Family. Some things were better left unknown.
Andrew nodded and tentatively asked, "Then I'll go back to the meeting. Will you be alright here alone?"
"Absolutely," Luann said.
With a clear answer, Andrew felt relieved and entered the conference room.
Luann sat on the sofa, took out her phone, and started browsing to pass the time.
"Mr. Curtis, the last bid failure caused significant losses to our company. This time..." The executive uttered.
Myron looked at the approaching Andrew and calmly asked, "Where is she?"
"Mrs. Curtis said she would wait outside," Andrew replied.
Myron frowned slightly and suddenly said, "Meeting adjourned."
Everyone looked at each other in confusion.
Myron stood up and quickly walked out.
He saw Luann by the window. She curled up on the sofa, playing with her phone.
Hearing the commotion, she looked at him in confusion.
"Why are you out so soon?"
His long, distinct fingers spread out in front of her.
Myron's voice was low, "Come with me inside."
Luann instinctively leaned back a bit, "No, I'll wait here. You guys continue your meeting. If I get hungry, I'll find something to eat myself."
A hint of displeasure flashed in Myron's eyes.
He bent slightly, wrapped his long arm around Luann's slender waist, and effortlessly lifted her from the sofa.
"Hey, Myron, hey!" Luann yelled
Myron, without a word, brought Luann into the conference room.
Many eyes turned to them, curiously examining Luann, 'Oh? So this is Myron's wife?'
Luann sighed softly and greeted everyone gracefully.
Myron returned to his seat.
Luann awkwardly touched her earlobe and cast a pleading look at Andrew.
So, where should she sit now?
All the seats were taken.
Andrew silently looked away, pretending not to see.
"Luann," Myron croaked, "come here."
Luann obediently walked over.
The next second, she was pulled onto his lap.
"Myron." Luann's face instantly turned red, shocked by Myron's actions.
However, Myron seemed to enjoy this interaction very much.
He wrapped one arm around Luann's waist and placed the other on the table, encircling her small frame and preventing her from moving.
"Meeting continues," Myron said.
Luann pouted helplessly and mused, 'Well, This is Myron's territory. Enjoy himself this time.'
The executives were bewildered by Myron's actions. They looked at each other, took a moment to regain their composure, and continued the meeting.
At first, Luann sat up straight to ease the awkwardness.
Eventually, she relaxed, resting her head on Myron's shoulder, pretending to be invisible.
After what felt like an eternity, the meeting finally ended.
Luann immediately jumped off Myron's lap.
She asked gleefully, "Legs numb?"
However, Myron stood up effortlessly.
"You're not heavy. Why would they be numb?"
Luann snorted softly, feeling a small sense of joy inside, "Shall we go eat?"
"Sure." Myron agreed.
"I am keen to visit your cafeteria. Shall we go together?" Luann whispered.
"Okay." Myron nodded.
But just as they reached the company cafeteria, Luann received a call from Sunflower.
"Boss, our spokesperson Ms. Rivera suddenly fainted during a shoot today and was taken to the hospital."
Luann was slightly surprised, "When did this happen? Why am I only hearing about it now?"
"We didn't think it was serious at first, just low blood sugar or something. But Mr. Miller said her condition wasn't suitable for continuing the shoot. Ms. Rivera now wants to terminate the contract. Do you want to come over personally?" The subordinate explained.
Luann frowned with concern, "Yeah, I'll be there right away. Wait for me."
