Chapter 70 Sophisticated Maneuvers

Seeing Alisha ignore everyone and leave, the atmosphere at the dining table instantly dropped.

Luann stood up to pick the food she liked, and when she came back, she overheard them gossiping without restraint.

"What's up with her? She brought us here but slept soundly."

"Yeah, after such a long flight, I don't want to stay in the hotel for the next few days!"

"This is my first time going abroad, and I heard the whole trip is reimbursed. Let's not waste such a great opportunity! Otherwise, this trip would have been pointless."

"Yeah, yeah, Alisha doesn't care. Her husband makes so much money, going abroad is just a common occurrence for her."

"Alisha travels twice a year, always showing off in her social media circle. It's nauseating."

"Alright, enough. Luann will be back soon."

"So what if she hears us? Their relationship with Alisha isn't good anyway. And who knows, what we're saying might be just what she wants to hear."

"Well, to be honest, I wouldn't have sucked up to her if it weren't for Alisha being the manager."

"Same here."

Luann took another round and finally returned to her seat.

Everyone's attention was focused on her.

"Luann, I heard that pianists have several performances each year. You've performed abroad since you were young. Is your English good?"

"Yeah, Luann, have you been to America too? Are there any interesting places you could recommend?"

“After we finish eating, can you take all of us for a stroll?”

Luann calmly took a sip of water and remained unfazed.

“No, I don’t want to waste my efforts pleasing hypocritical women.”

Someone asked with confusion, "What...what do you mean?"

Luann picked up a tissue, casually wiped the corners of her mouth, and met their gazes.

“It means I have no interest in being with two-faced gossips.”

The faces of several women turned pale instantly!

Luann stood up and glanced at the men.

"Oh, right, the same goes for you all."

Having gained some favors from others, they turned back around and ruthlessly stepped on them.

Luann didn't want to associate with such people.

Everyone clenched their fists tightly, gritting their teeth.

“What arrogance! Who said we are willing to talk to her!”

"I understand why Mr. Gilbert cheated on her. What man would like a woman like her?"

“That’s right. She deserves to be cheated on!”

Back in her room, just as Luann laid down on the bed, her phone rang.

Alvin sent her an online racing invitation.

[Fill out the form and sign up now! Limited spots available, don’t miss out!]

Luann opened it and saw that all the racers listed were people she had never seen before and couldn't recognize their names.

She filled in the information, submitted it, and replied.

[Application successful.]

[OK!]

Luann turned on her side, opened Myron's chat box, and naturally sent a message.

“What are you up to?”

The phone screen lit up instantly.

One of the employees standing at the projector was passionately discussing the latest six-month report and the plan for the next half year. Myron's indifferent gaze glanced over the screen. The next second, his gaze froze.

Then, he raised his hand and made a pause gesture.

He picked up his phone and tapped on the screen repeatedly, typing out a string of words only to delete them and continue typing. He completely ignored the astonished looks from the higher-ups when they looked at him.

"What's happening... Doesn't the president never answer calls or texts during meetings?"
"Maybe there's an urgent matter."

Eddy, sitting beside Myron, lazily yawned, his narrow peach blossom eyes taking in the entire process. He shook his head speechlessly, never expecting to one day witness Myron in such a flustered state. After agonizing for a while, Myron finally settled on four words.

“Didn’t do anything.”

But before he could send it, he heard a suppressed chuckle in his ear. Myron's gaze swept past coldly, his gentle eyebrows and eyes instantly turning icy.

"Dude, that's not how you talk to people. If you reply like that, the other person will definitely reply with a 'good,' and that will be the end of it."

Myron snorted coldly, full of confidence and not believing his judgment.

“I don’t need you to teach me.”

Eddy shrugged lightly, raising his hand slightly.

“Then, please go ahead.”

Myron pressed send.

Five seconds later, Luann replied.

"Alright."

Myron’s handsome eyebrows twisted into a knot in an instant!

"Pfft..."

Eddy clenched his fists and brought them to his lips, holding back his almost uncontrollable laughter.

Myron held his phone in a daze, wanting to reply but not knowing how to respond.

The employees who were unaware of the situation exchanged glances, holding their breath and afraid to provoke the already dark-faced Myron.

Myron took a deep breath, his tone even colder than before.

“Dismissed.”

"He nodded and walked out.

“Eddy, come here,”

Eddy casually rose and walked over at a leisurely pace.

“Beauty, it’s holding you up.”

The two entered the office one after the other.

Myron sat on the sofa, sitting up straight, occasionally tapping his fingers on his knee, revealing his emotions.

Eddy, on the other hand, remained calm, picking up a magazine and casually flipping through it.

As expected, Myron couldn’t hold back anymore.

"What do you think, how should I talk to her now?"

Eddy glanced up, “Didn’t you not trust me? Why are you asking me then?”

Myron's face turned cold, his thin lips tightly pursed, and his long eyelashes cast a dense shadow.

“Alright, since you’re begging me like this, I might as well share my experience with you.”

"Conversations are a back-and-forth, there needs to be questions before answers."

"If you only answer, but don't ask, how can you take the initiative in the conversation?"

Myron furrowed his brows, his dark eyes showing a hint of confusion, probably not understanding.

Eddy took his phone directly.

"Okay, let me give you a demonstration."

He opened the chat with Luann and typed a line:

【I was just busy discussing something with a friend, afraid I wouldn't have time to reply to your message. Now I'm finally done, have you eaten?】

Luann: 【I just ate recently.】
【Hmm, that's good. Rest early tonight to adjust to the time difference. I've been to a restaurant with great food these past few days, should I recommend it to you if you're close by?】

Luann: 【Sure, thank you.】

Eddy immediately sent the address to Luann.

Luann looked at the address, it was only about two kilometers away from the hotel, not far.
【I'll go tomorrow.】

Eddy continued operating Myron's phone.

【I've made a reservation for you, table three. Just give your name when you arrive, and all the expenses will be on me.】

Luann sent an expression of confusion, 【Okay, got it.】

Eddy threw the phone back to Myron.

"See that? That's what I call high-level operation!"
