Chapter 455 Weird Scene

Looking at Joshua's furious expression, Holly remained extremely calm. "Calm down. Why are you so agitated? Everyone around is watching you."

Only then did Joshua realize that he had spoken too loudly, attracting quite a bit of attention. He smiled awkwardly and sheepishly sat back down. "It's such a lousy idea. There's no way I'm doing it."

"How can you call it a lousy idea? It's acting," Holly said earnestly. She had already noticed that Joshua seemed to have some feelings for Luann.

She said, "If you don't get rid of Hill quickly, do you think Luann will have a good time? Having Hill around her is like having a ticking time bomb. If it really goes off one day, won't she be completely doomed? You live with Hill now, you know what he likes and dislikes. Just cater to his preferences and subtly hint at him. It's not like I'm asking you two to actually be together."

Joshua got goosebumps all over. He didn't mind other people's relationships like this, but he really couldn't accept it for himself.

Seeing Joshua's hesitation, Holly sighed deeply. "Luann has been so good to you, teaching you everything, and now at this critical moment, you can't even help a bit."

Joshua's eyelid twitched hard. "What do you mean? Are you calling me ungrateful?"

Holly shrugged. "I didn't say it. you did."

Joshua gritted his teeth. "I'm not that kind of person. It's just a guy and you think I can't handle him? Just wait and see."

Holly nodded repeatedly. "I can't wait to see you make Hill fall head over heels."

Joshua's mouth twitched, and after muttering "crazy," he got up somewhat flustered. "I'm leaving."

Holly reminded him, "Remember to pay the bill, thanks!"

After finishing the food on the table, Holly, with a full stomach, went to find Luann and Hill. She hummed a tune, hooked her arm around Luann's, and looked at Hill with a face full of pride. "I think the three of us make a great team. Hill, if you really get together with Joshua, don't forget my help!"

Hill asked in slight surprise, "What did you do?"

Holly vividly recounted everything that had just happened to Hill, making her laugh out loud.

Hill even patted Holly on the shoulder. "Not bad. As expected of my good friend."

Holly, bent over from Hill's forceful pat, quickly dodged her hand and burrowed into Luann's soft embrace.

Luann tilted her head and smiled lightly at Hill. "I guess I should congratulate you in advance?"

"We're not even together yet. What's the rush?" Hill's smile deepened. "Since that's the case, I won't go shopping with you. I've already bought my lipstick, so I'll head back first."

"Hey, do you have to be so eager?" Holly muttered, looking at Hill's back.

When Hill returned to the company, she indeed saw Joshua pacing back and forth in the distance. He was muttering something under his breath, seemingly talking to himself. She walked over without acknowledging Joshua and went straight to her seat.

Joshua immediately came over, his expression a bit strange. "Have you had your breakfast?"

Hill shook her head. Joshua handed her the breakfast he was holding.

" Don't get too hungry," As soon as Joshua started talking, goosebumps ran up his arms, but he forced himself to continue, "Don't you like that restaurant at the corner? I can take you there after work."

Hill asked knowingly, "Why are you being so nice to me today?"

Joshua was a bit displeased. "When am I not nice to you? Haven't I treated you well?"

"Sounds like I'm your kept lover," Hill teased.

Joshua fell silent. He was too embarrassed to know what to say.

"Well, you should get to work. I need to continue working too." Hill sat there properly, maintaining her beggar-like appearance.

Joshua wanted to say something but couldn't get a word out for a long time. He turned and left.

After work in the afternoon, he kept his promise and took Hill to dinner. It was unclear what he was worried about, but he kept drinking. By the time he got up, his steps were unsteady.

Hill asked, "Are you drunk?"

Joshua shook his head. "I'm not drunk. Watch me walk a straight line."

Hill quickly grabbed him before he could bump into a lamppost. "Alright, stop showing off. Get on." She stood in front of Joshua, half-squatting.

Joshua sneered, "Are you insulting me? I'm a 5-foot-10 man, and you think I need a small person like you to carry me? Besides, with my build, I'd crush you if I got on."

Hill tilted her head slightly, the soft light from the streetlamp outlining her defined jawline and long, fluttering eyelashes.

Joshua was momentarily stunned, thinking, 'How could a boy have such long and dense eyelashes?'

Hill, annoyed by his words, directly extended her arm and hooked it around Joshua's legs.

In the next second, the unprepared Joshua was lying on Hill's back.

"One, two, three, up," Hill said, easily lifting Joshua. Then, she took big strides forward.

Joshua was stunned. Luann and Holly, who had been secretly watching from a distance, were also stunned.

Holly rubbed her eyes hard. "Am I seeing things? This scene is so weird."

A woman carrying a man so effortlessly, it really looked odd. She knew Hill was strong and skilled, but not this strong.

Luann was also dumbfounded, coughing lightly. "Their way of interacting is indeed a bit unusual."

"We've been squatting here for so long, expecting some romantic scene, like a tender gaze, eyes meeting, and a gentle kiss," Holly said, imagining the scene, "But who would've thought it would be like this? Has Hill been pretending to be a man for so long that she really thinks she is one?"
