Chapter 440 Night Visit to the Hospital Room

Wilber stared blankly at the phone, the busy tone drilling into his head. He finally got it—he was totally screwed. And through this mess, he saw Juliet for who she really was. All that sweetness and kindness were an act.

Juliet had been using him the whole time they were together. Maybe she never even liked him. If it weren't for Myron, he and Juliet might've just stayed distant in-laws forever.

Wilber let out a bitter laugh. "Juliet was right. I did this to myself." He chose to cheat on Luann, pushing her away and creating this whole mess. He was mostly to blame.

There was a knock at the door, and Micah walked in, looking like he hadn't slept all night.

Micah sat down in front of Wilber, rubbing his aching head, clearly struggling to think straight.

"Dad," Wilber started, biting his lip hard, "I'm sorry."

Not only had he raised someone else's kid for nothing, but he also gave away a third of the Gilbert family's business. It was a massive blow. In just one night, half of Micah's accounts were wiped out.

"You should apologize to your mother," Micah said, disappointment in his voice. "Ever since you thought she killed your child, she hasn't slept well."

"It's all my fault. I can't believe I didn't trust Mom because of that awful woman." Wilber clenched his fists in frustration, hitting his own head over and over.

He'd been so blinded by Juliet. He even bragged to Luann that he wasn't stupid. Now, he felt like the biggest fool. Everyone else saw through Juliet, but he stupidly believed she loved him.

Juliet only cared about money and power. Wilber's mind started to clear. He even recalled what Mike had told him back then, realizing how ruthless Juliet had been, even towards her own father.

"Learn from this," Micah said, patting Wilber's shoulder.

A deep hatred flashed in Wilber's eyes. "I'm not letting this go. Why should Juliet get away with this?"

"Wilber," Micah sighed deeply, "you brought this on yourself. Don't make things worse."

He clenched his fists tightly and a sharp glint flashed in his eyes. "I know what I'm doing. Even if Luann doesn't help me, I'll find someone else."

Outside the hospital, Juliet looked up, counting the rooms with lights just turned off. She took off her sunglasses, revealing a bruised eye.

Two burly men behind her, clearly trained, spoke in low voices, "Ms. Weaver, now's the best time."

Juliet responded calmly and led the men upstairs. In the quiet corridor, only the sharp sound of her high heels echoed.

Soon, they reached Mike's hospital room. After a light knock, the door was opened by a somewhat surprised caregiver. "Who are you?"

"I'm Mike's daughter," Juliet said with a gentle smile, her voice soft.

The caregiver immediately understood. "You must be Juliet. Please, come in."

One of the burly men followed Juliet inside, while the other stood by the elevator, keeping watch. As the door closed, the burly man stepped forward, grabbed the caregiver by the collar, and slammed his head against the wall. With a thud, the caregiver rolled his eyes and fainted.

Juliet looked towards the bed. Mike had just finished an IV, still in pain, unable to sleep. His eyes were wide open, cheeks sunken, his body emaciated, just skin and bones.

"Dad," Juliet said with a faint smile, her words dripping with coldness. "Looks like Luann didn't take good care of you. I thought you'd be comfortable here, but you're so miserable."

Mike's body twitched slightly, barely able to move. His cracked lips could only make faint sounds, unable to form complete words.

"Dad, I'm here today to discuss something important with you." Juliet grabbed a document and placed it in front of him. "Since you're going to die sooner or later, you might as well make a will in advance to divide the remaining assets of the Weaver family."

Brianna had sold the villa to invest all the money into the company, indicating the company was now completely bankrupt. So Juliet had to claim what was rightfully hers.

"Dad, could you sign this?" Juliet asked with a sweet smile.

Mike saw clearly what the will stated. After his death, all his assets, including the company, properties, and cars, would go solely to Juliet.

Mike immediately became agitated, trying to tell Juliet that it was his original plan. However, due to prolonged treatment, his body was extremely weak, making it incredibly difficult to even speak. "I... "

Juliet waited for a long time, not understanding what Mike wanted to say. She frowned in disgust, misunderstanding him. "Are you thinking of leaving the assets to someone else? My mom has completely abandoned you. She's already on Luann's side. As for Luann, you don't want everything you've worked so hard for to go back to the Wright family, do you? Leaving it to me is the best choice. If you don't have the strength to sign, I'll help."

Juliet extended her hand. The burly man immediately handed over an ink pad. Clearly, they were prepared.

Juliet grabbed Mike's hand, full of needle marks and bulging veins, pressed it into the ink pad, and then firmly stamped it on the will. Seeing the bright red handprint, she smiled with satisfaction.

At this moment, a low voice came from outside the door, "Ms. Weaver, Mr. Gilbert seems to be here."
