Chapter 14 Young Curtis learns to cook
Listening to the words of the people around her, Juliet Weaver's smile gradually deepened.
She raised her chin slightly, looking provocatively at Luann Weaver.
Luann Weaver took out the contract from her canvas bag and waved it in front of Juliet Weaver.
Juliet Weaver's hand reached out, but before she could speak, she heard Luann Weaver ask.
"Do you really want it?"
Juliet Weaver remained silent.
"If you want something, you should show a bit of humility when asking for it." Luann Weaver tapped her fingers lightly on the table, creating a crisp sound.
Juliet Weaver's expression instantly changed, "Sister, what do you mean by this? Keeping this contract is useless!"
"I'll give you three seconds." Luann Weaver said coldly.
Juliet Weaver gritted her teeth fiercely, completely shocked that this woman would be so shameless and dare to shout at her in front of so many people!
Luann Weaver didn't waste any more words with her and confidently threw the contract into the paper shredder.
"Ah!"
Juliet Weaver exclaimed.
"Luann Weaver!"
She glared at Luann Weaver angrily, unable to believe that this woman actually had the heart to do something so heartless!
That contract was something she had almost sacrificed herself for just to obtain yesterday!
The most important thing now was, how was she supposed to explain to Wilber Gilbert!
People around exclaimed one after another, "Oh my goodness... a multimillion-dollar project just thrown away like that by Luann Weaver?"
"She has really gone crazy! Let's see how Mr. Gilbert will deal with her!"
Luann Weaver lifted her cup and stood up.
She casually walked toward the door passing by Juliet Weaver, her shoulder bumped into her.
"Move aside."
Juliet Weaver staggered, weakly falling to the ground.
Luann Weaver scoffed.
For such petty tactics from Juliet Weaver, she was already disdainful to pay attention to.
Others immediately helped Juliet Weaver up.
"Miss Weaver, are you alright? How could your sister treat you like this?"
"That's right, she's really crossing the line. She doesn't have any sisterly qualities at all!"
Juliet Weaver forced a smile, her voice bitter: "Forget it, my sister has been living in the countryside for so long, she has some habits that can't be changed in just a few years."
"Think about it... it's quite pitiful, I won't bother with her."
Everyone sighed: "Miss Weaver, you are truly too kind!"
Juliet Weaver gently shook her head, offering everyone some milky tea and fruit juice from an app on her phone, winning over the hearts of the group.
After dealing with these people, Juliet Weaver finally went upstairs.
As soon as she entered the office, she began to cry.
"Wilber, I just went to ask my sister for the contract, but she not only refused to give it to me, she also threw it into the shredder."
Wilber Gilbert's gaze trembled, "What did you say? She destroyed that contract?!"
Yesterday, he dared to speak to Mr. Jeff like that, relying on the fact that they had signed the contract!
Now that the contract was destroyed, wouldn't that mean...
"Sob, Wilber..."
As Wilber Gilbert listened to Juliet Weaver's sobbing voice, his already anxious mood became even more intense.
He reluctantly comforted her: "Alright, you go and relax, I'll come find you later."
"Okay."
The entire day, Wilber Gilbert was filled with anger.
Finally, at the end of the workday, Wilber Gilbert seized the opportunity and pulled Luann Weaver to the side alley as soon as she stepped out of the company door.
"Why did you destroy that contract?"
"Don't you know what Juliet has sacrificed because of this?"
Luann Weaver looked at Wilber Gilbert's furious expression and lightly smiled.
"The contract I negotiated, I have the right to handle it."
Wilber Gilbert's face turned red, and he angrily shouted: "You're talking nonsense! If it weren't for Juliet, how could Mr. Jeff have signed it!"
Luann Weaver responded with a tone of realization, "Then just let her go find Mr. Jeff to sign another one."
"Luann Weaver!" Wilber Gilbert gritted his teeth, "I've been good to you for these past two years, haven't I? Even though we broke up in the end, there's no need for you to seek revenge like this! Are you only satisfied if you make our relationship so tense?"
"Not good to me?" Luann Weaver blinked her clear eyes and found it amusing.
"I, Luann Weaver, have been with you for two years and have never asked you for anything or spent a single penny of yours. I believe I don't owe you anything! Is this not what you call 'considerate'?" Luann Weaver looked at him sarcastically.
Wow, she didn't ask him to settle debts, but he brought up the past first!
The veins in Wilber Gilbert's neck bulged, unable to endure any longer.
"Yes!"
"Luann Weaver, do you even consider yourself a woman?"
"You don't show weakness or act cute, and you always dress like a sack! You'd rather stay eight yards away if I mention booking a hotel room!"
"What man can tolerate your behavior?"
"Do you fucking think I'm having a platonic love affair?"
"And also, you haven't spent my money?"
"You work in my company, didn't I give you a salary?"
Luann Weaver took out a card from her pocket and slapped it onto his face.
"Two thousand per month, totaling forty-eight thousand. Remember to deposit the excess money into my account."
Wilber Gilbert's anger burned within him as he looked at Luann Weaver, who was eager to distance herself and spoke sarcastic words.
"Indeed, you've found a wealthy man and now you're lavishly spending his money."
Luann Weaver smiled sweetly, "Yes, unlike you, so stingy, you've never even given me a gift."
Wilber Gilbert's mouth twitched violently, "Luann Weaver!"
"Oh dear, my car is here. Goodbye."
Luann Weaver waved at him and confidently got into the car.
With a bang, the door closed and she drove away.
"Where is Mr. Curtis?"
Luann Weaver turned her head and looked at the empty seat next to her.
"The young master is being dragged by the old lady to learn how to cook at home."
Luann Weaver exclaimed, thinking she must have misheard.
The driver repeated it, and only then did she react.
What's going on?
the Curtis family had so many servants that she couldn't count them all. Why would Myron Curtis, the young master, be cooking?
Could it be that the grandmother was bored at home and wanted some excitement?
Luann Weaver thought hard and felt that this was the only explanation that made sense.
"Please drive faster."
Getting off the car, Luann Weaver headed towards the living room.
She heard some commotion in the kitchen while changing clothes, but couldn't make out the words clearly.
"Oh dear! You should add sugar when it's almost cooked, but you added it too early!"
"Hurry up, stir it! The pot is burning!"
"You're so stupid! Don't ever mention being my grandson when you go out!"
Myron Curtis stood in front of the stove with a dark face, wearing a Doraemon apron, holding a spatula in one hand, looking quite comical.
"Let's just give up."
Myron Curtis wanted to go on strike, but was grabbed by the wrist by the old lady.
"Myron Curtis, do you want to cause a commotion? Look at yourself in the mirror, your face is so ugly..."
"You stay at home every day, living off others and waiting to die! Look at yourself, you take no pride in your appearance, and no job."
"It was not easy for me to find a wife for you, and if I don't put effort into teaching you how to cook, what will I do if your wife runs away with someone else!"
