Chapter 65 Temporary Traveling
Luann, who sat in front of the computer, uninterested in getting involved, looked at Alisha's fake smile with a cold snort.
"You want to take the credit yourself, why drag others along?"
Alisha furrowed her eyebrows and earnestly reassured, "You've misunderstood. I don't want to take credit, everything I do is for the company."
"If I didn't see everyone's indifference, I wouldn't have taken the lead."
"Rest assured, if this endeavor truly resurrects the company, I will make sure to record the names of all the participating employees and report everything in detail to Mr. Gilbert."
"This is everyone's achievement, not mine alone."
One by one, the crowd nodded and supported her.
"Alisha, count me in!"
"I'm coming too. I just got my visa last month, so I'll treat it as a trip abroad to relax."
"Absolutely, no matter the final outcome, as long as we put in our effort, we can hold our heads high!"
Listening to everyone's enthusiastic remarks, Alisha felt a glimmer of hope.
She smiled at Luann and said, "Join us, won't you?"
Luann glanced at Alisha, unsure of what this person was plotting. However, she happened to have some matters to attend to abroad, and traveling with them would allow the company to cover her expenses, saving her money.
"Alright."
Alisha almost smiled. She heaved a sigh of relief, with a barely perceptible glimmer of excitement passing through his eyes.
Opening her notebook, she recorded the list of participants and created a group, adding each person one by one.
"For this trip, we have a total of ten people. I will inform you all about my plans later, so please actively provide feedback in the group."
"Don't worry, Alisha!"
"We'll listen to Alisha!"
Alisha, being in the position of a manager, often went on business trips, so she was quite experienced in traveling far and wide.
She acted swiftly and that very night, she uploaded a document in the group outlining the general process for this cooperation discussion.
Page was a foreign company specialized in providing materials.
【My husband knows the manager of Page Group and has already made arrangements. This time, we will go there to discuss prices and if everything goes smoothly, proceed with the formalities.】
Page...
Luann looked at these two characters and felt a sense of familiarity.
"What are you looking at? So captivated."
A cool hand landed on Luann's shoulder, startling her. She instinctively turned off the screen.
Myron stood behind her, looking down at her from a higher position, wiping his wet hair with a white towel.
"I have some business to attend to recently and need to go on a business trip."
Luann collected herself and replied with a smile.
Myron gave a faint "Hmm," and said, "Perfect, I'm also going abroad."
Luann blinked in confusion and curiously asked, "What are you going there for?"
"I have a friend over there. I'm going to visit him," Myron answered somewhat casually.
Luann nodded.
Myron turned around and sat on a chair, commanding, "Come here, help me blow-dry my hair."
Luann obediently walked over, picked up the hairdryer, and blew his hair gently.
It continued until the phone on the table started vibrating.
Myron slightly turned his head, avoiding Luann's hand, picked up the phone, and walked out.
Luann put down the hairdryer and entered the bathroom.
Outside the door.
Myron leaned against the cold wall, his slender fingers holding the phone, listening to the report on the other end of the line.
"CEO, the bidding time for three days later has been changed from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Five companies will be attending."
Myron let out a cold "Hmm" from his throat. His long eyelashes drooped, partly concealing his dark eyes as the pupils reflected the plan on the tablet.
"Why was the time suddenly changed?"
The bidding time had already been set two months ago, so why was it suddenly changed at this critical moment?
The companies participating in this bidding, which one of them didn't have to allocate precious time amidst their busy schedules?
"I heard it was because of someone's request for a delay in time, so..."
Myron's face grew slightly grim. "Understood. I will depart tomorrow."
The next morning, Myron woke up amidst a bustling noise. Opening his eyes slightly, he saw a busy woman walking around the room.
Luann was wearing a long nightgown and had almost finished packing, struggling to zip up the suitcase and lift it up. The nightgown kept riding up. In the process of getting up, she raised it a few inches. Revealing a faint and unusual skin color compared to others.
Without giving Myron a chance to take a closer look, Luann let out a sigh of relief.
“It’s finally done.”
Myron got up and asked coolly, "What are you doing?"
Luann snapped out of it, "I forgot to ask you yesterday when you were leaving. I woke up early this morning and had a chat with Grandma. That's when I found out you were leaving today, so I helped you tidy up your things and packed some clothes..."
Her fair skin had a hint of pink and sweat made her forehead slightly damp. Her rosy cheeks were as white as snow, and her pitch-black eyes seemed to be washed by spring water, exceptionally bright.
"Did I disturb your rest?"
Myron shook his head and got off the bed.
“No, thank you.”
"You're welcome."
After packing up, the servant helped Myron carry the suitcase downstairs.
The old lady grabbed Myron's hand and sighed. Her worried face turned pale.
"Tell me, why are you running abroad at this time?"
“Aren’t you afraid that if you leave, some other man will take advantage of the opportunity?”
"With such a beautiful wife not by your side, all you think about is going out all day long."
"Don't forget what Grandma has told you before. If Luann meets a better man, Grandma would be the first to support it!"
Luann, who was listening on the side, couldn't help but blush.
"Grandma, what are you saying..."
After Myron seriously listened to everything, he replied, "I'll come back as soon as possible."
"Be careful on the way."
The old lady waved goodbye with great reluctance until the car disappeared from her sight. She let out a long breath and returned to her room.
Luann, on the other hand, was getting ready to go to the company. But as soon as she reached the front gate of the villa, a blue sports car elegantly stopped in front of her.
Alvin stumbled out of the car and urgently grabbed Luann's shoulder, causing her to wobble like a spinning top, and he anxiously shouted.
"What about my brother? Where's my brother?"
“He went to the airport. What’s the matter?”
Alvin was like a deflated balloon, leaning against the car and muttering.
“It’s over, it’s over, it’s over, it’s over”…"
"This time, it's finished..."
Luann looked at his dejected appearance and knew something serious had happened.
“What happened? You can tell me, maybe I can help you.”
Alvin's face turned ashen.
"No one can help me now. I'm really done for this time!"
