Chapter 437 Humble Plea
The guy looked pretty good. Juliet gently pushed him away, whispering something in his ear.
She flashed a seductive smile, full of allure. Wilber knew that look all too well.
Juliet turned to open the car door, and as she bent over to get out, she got a playful slap on the butt. She pouted, "Oh, you're so bad."
Her voice was sickeningly sweet, making Wilber want to puke. The scene in front of him made one thing clear: Juliet was cheating.
The guy got out next, locked the car, and casually put his arm around Juliet's shoulder as they headed towards the villa.
Juliet snuggled into the guy's strong arms, her giggles echoing in the quiet night. They seemed in a hurry, not even bothering to close the door as they stumbled towards the sofa.
Wilber emerged from the shadows, trembling all over, his eyes bloodshot as he stared at them. He quickly scanned the area, grabbed a brick from beside the flower bed, and charged in. He hesitated for a moment before striking, then hit the guy on the back of the head.
There was a loud thud. The guy didn't even have a chance to turn around, his head slumping forward, all his weight falling on Juliet.
Juliet screamed in fright when she saw Wilber. "What are you doing? Why are you here? Are you trying to kill him with that brick?"
Wilber was breathing heavily, grabbing Juliet by the collar and yanking her out. Her clothes tore with his rough movements.
Wilber's voice trembled, filled with sorrow and anger. "Juliet, why did you do this? Haven't I been good to you? I gave you everything you wanted—shares, jewelry, designer bags. Why did you betray me?"
Wilber roared, his hair flying wildly as he shook his head. Juliet stayed calm, looking at him. She calmly leaned back on the sofa. She had anticipated this day, so she wasn't panicked at all. "Since you're asking me, let me ask you, why didn't you tell me that your genitals would never work again? I was always curious why you were so eager to marry me after I got pregnant. Wilber, did you plan to deprive me of a sex life for the rest of my life? Don't you think that's selfish?"
Wilber was stunned by Juliet's counterattack. "When did you find out?"
Juliet looked away. "Don't worry about when I found out. Just tell me if it's true."
Wilber lowered his head, eyes filled with unwillingness and humiliation. The brick in his hand fell to the ground with a thud, and he clenched his fists tightly. Even though his nails weren't long, they left marks on his palms.
After a moment, he had to admit it, "Yeah, I lied to you. But I've done everything I could to make you happy, including giving you those shares, right? Juliet, I've done all this. What more do you want?"
Juliet laughed softly and patted Wilber's shoulder. "One thing at a time. If Madeline hadn't pushed me down the stairs, I wouldn't have had a miscarriage. Those shares are just compensation for my lost child."
Wilber stared at Juliet in a daze. In his mind, he recalled his recent conversation with Luann. The document was still in his pocket.
He thought, 'Could it be that Juliet is really setting me up? But now, even knowing the truth, what can I do? Break up with Juliet? Lose the wife I spent so much money to marry?'
"You're right," Wilber conceded, taking a step back. For the sake of the future, he had to endure. "But Juliet, considering I haven't treated you badly, we've been together for over a year, and I paid a lot of medical bills for your dad, can you not divorce me?"
Juliet laughed at his words. "Still want to be a simp? Weren't you always indifferent to me? Didn't you tell Luann that I was messing around with you? Now that I've cuckolded you, you're still pathetically begging me?"
Wilber's jaw trembled. This was a great humiliation for him.
Juliet hummed thoughtfully, pondering how to deal with Wilber when the man he had knocked out woke up.
The guy struggled to sit up on the sofa, touching the back of his head. There was quite a bit of blood. "Who the hell did this?"
Juliet unceremoniously pointed at Wilber.
The guy asked in a deep voice, "Who is this guy?"
Wilber enunciated each word, "I'm her husband."
The guy glanced at Juliet, frowning. "What's going on?"
"Oh, don't be mad, this guy has some mental issues and can't have sex." Juliet leaned into the guy's arms.
The guy immediately understood. He glanced downwards, full of mockery.
Juliet waved at Wilber. "Come, apologize. He's the son of a famous director and is about to shoot his first film."
The guy said slowly, "Show me your sincerity."
Wilber's eyes dimmed, unable to believe it. He had thought his concession would make Juliet feel some remorse. But he didn't expect Juliet to become even more ruthless. "Juliet, how did you become such a selfish and greedy person? Just to get a role in some lousy film, you do such disgusting things. Our marriage is legally recognized. If you dare cheat, I will... I will..."
