Chapter 317 No Badmouthing
Eddy took Holly to another restaurant for a meal.
After indulging in the food, Holly slumped in her seat, feeling too full to move.
"Come on, let's go shopping and buy some things," Eddy said, grabbing her hand.
Holly burped, "I can't eat anymore."
"We're not eating., we're buying other things."
"I don't need anything. What's there to buy?" Holly pouted.
"Just come along. Isn't it nice to have someone spend money on you?" Eddy insisted.
Holly sighed and sat up, "Alright."
At the mall, Eddy, uncharacteristically, walked into a store without asking Holly what she liked and waved his hand ,saying grandly,"Wrap up the most expensive items in your store."
"Wrap up the most expensive items in your store."
Holly raised an eyebrow, "Wow, you're really loaded, huh?"
"Absolutely."
It wouldn't have been a big deal since Eddy had money, but by the time they entered the tenth store, Holly couldn't hold back anymore.
"Eddy, even if I change outfits every day, I won't be able to wear them all in a year!"
Eddy misunderstood her, "No worries, we'll buy new styles next year."
"No, I mean it's too much," Holly said, grabbing his raising hand .
"Women must like various clothes, right? Or do you want something else? Bags, jewelry or watches, what do you want?"
Holly looked at him seriously, "Is your brain okay?"
While they were talking, they walked into a cosmetics store.
Eddy said, "The most expensive ones, ten sets."
Holly looked puzzled.
Eddy gazed at her, thinking he was being incredibly romantic, and said, "I can't allow anyone to talk about you like that. From now on, you can always choose the most expensive things. Don't think about saving money for me, got it?"
"What?" Holly finally realized.
"As for those cheap cosmetics and clothes, just throw them away," Eddy said grandly.
Holly finally understood that Eddy was upset because of Ann's casual mocking remark!
She chuckled softly, thinking, 'Eddy is quite adorable.'
"What are you laughing at?" Eddy easily pinched her face with one big hand, "Remember every word I said, no arguing."
Holly mumbled, "Got it, got it."
However, she wasn't using any cheap stuff. It was something many people couldn't even buy if they wanted to!
After a crazy shopping spree, Holly's house was filled to the brim, and she had to temporarily ask Luann to bring a few maids to help organize everything.
When Luann arrived with the maids, she found there was hardly any room to step inside.
"Did you win the lottery?"
Holly shrugged lightly and replied, "I'm just loved and cherished by Eddy."
Luann laughed, "Eddy bought all this for you? He's quite generous, but it's already fall, so these clothes won't be wearable for long."
"No worries, he said it's better to have more than less."
Luann nodded and sat on the sofa.
Holly leaned in, "Luann, don't you think my skin has improved a lot?"
Luann stared at her face for a while, "That skincare set you've been using for half a year seems to work well."
Holly lifted her chin slightly, pride in her voice.
"Of course, we designed it ourselves!"
"You don't know, Ann saw me using it today and thought it was a cheap brand. She mocked me all day long."
Luann understood Holly's point and said calmly, "The feedback from other company testers has been great too. And the certification has been approved. It will be on the market soon."
"Release it under your name alone,ok" Luann said.
Holly was stunned.
"Huh? But we did this together..."
"You put in more effort than I did," Luann interrupted her. "Besides, do we really need to be so clear-cut between us?"
Holly giggled and threw herself into Luann's arms.
"I love you so much, Luann!"
Luann patted her hair and said, "Didn't Eddy stay with you?"
"No, he left right after dropping me off. Who knows where he went."
In the quiet private room of the café, the air was tinged with a bit of bitterness. The cup in front of him was already empty. Ann pushed the door open and entered, smiling gently at Eddy.
"I never expected you to come looking for me in person. I thought I could only see you through Uncle Alan," Eddy said, avoiding eye contact and showing reluctance to speak.
"Then you should know why I came to see you, right?"
"Except matters concerning Holly, I doubt you'd never want to have any other dealings with me," Ann said as she gracefully sat down, the hem of her white dress touching the clean floor.
"In that case, I'll get straight to the point," Eddy said, lifting his gaze to fix her with a sharp look. "I hope you stop bothering Holly."
Ann's fingers trembled slightly, but her smile didn't waver.
"I don't understand what you mean. I've never intended to trouble Holly from the beginning."
"On the contrary, you're the one dating Holly while not refusing to meet with me."
"So, can I assume you're trying to have it both ways?"
Eddy let out a cold laugh.
"I'm not interested in that. I only agreed to meet because of my dad..."
"No matter who it's because of," Ann interrupted him, "that's your Nash family business."
"Uncle Alan has come to see me several times. As a junior, it's hard for me to refuse."
"Besides, our families have always had a good relationship. Otherwise, they wouldn't have considered arranging our marriage."
Eddy narrowed his eyes, staring at her for a long moment before he laughed.
"Very well."
"It seems today's conversation is meaningless."
Eddy stood up to leave.
Ann let out a soft sigh, frustration evident on her face.
Ten minutes later, the door to the private room was pushed open.
"What's the deal with that first place?"
A woman wearing a baseball cap, sunglasses, and a mask walked in, wrapped up tightly.
Grace took off her things and tossed them on the table, full of annoyance and surprise.
God knows how shocked she was when she found out that Myron got second place and that Luann was Avoida!
Ann shook her head lightly. "I don't know. I don't have much interaction with Miss Su."
Grace sat down opposite her, her demeanor incredibly tense.
"This Luann really has some skills. I'll have to be more careful in the future!"
Ann asked knowingly, "Is she very unlikeable?"
Just mentioning the name seemed to make Grace uncomfortable.
"Of course, I can't stand her arrogant attitude!"
"You have no idea how overbearing she is in the Curtis family, as if she were the head of the Curtis family!"
Ann took out her phone, "No wonder she's so arrogant, even at the award ceremony..."
She paused and sighed.
"Forget it."
"I'd better not to say , or it'll seem like I'm badmouthing her behind her back."
