Chapter 19 Close Friend, Holly Weiss
During dinner, the table was once again filled with the meticulously prepared Ten-Ingredient Nourishing Soup by the old lady.
Myron Curtis had two bowls by himself.
The old lady's chopsticks tapped his hand as she scolded, "You brat, one of those bowls is for Luann!"
Luann Weaver secretly glanced at Myron Curtis and coincidentally met his gaze.
Their eyes met and quickly retreated.
Luann Weaver lowered her head and ate a few bites of her meal.
"Don't bother with these useless things in the future." Myron Curtis said coldly.
"What do you mean useless? I specifically researched and consulted more than ten doctors for over half a year to ensure that there are no side effects on the body, and the soup is nourishing!"
Before Myron Curtis could say anything else, Luann Weaver quickly stretched her hand under the table and lightly tugged on him.
After finishing their meal, Luann Weaver went back to her room.
Myron Curtis, on the other hand, was called over by the old lady and given a severe scolding.
"You are really causing a ruckus!"
"You don't know how to appreciate having such a good wife by your side. What are you thinking all day long?"
"I am getting old, and I don't know how much longer these old bones can last. Can't you save me some worries?"
Myron Curtis wore a helpless expression, his ears were becoming calloused from hearing these words.
The old lady didn't care if he responded or not; she went on ranting about the same things day after day, and finally impatiently waved her hand for him to leave.
John, the butler, walked in from outside and placed a cup of reheated milk on the table.
"Madam, please don't worry about the young master."
"The young master still listens to your words. When you told him to marry, he immediately married."
"But having children is still too early."
"After all, Madam is still young. She just turned twenty-two last month."
The old lady sighed with regret.
"Do you think I don't know this?"
"But there's nothing I can do!"
"People outside spread rumors every day that my grandson likes men, in that aspect... that aspect... "
"We finally had some action on our wedding night, but now it's gone!"
John felt a bit awkward and coughed softly. "You have been paying attention to this matter..."
The old lady slapped her thigh.
"No, Old John, you go and contact the best doctor in the Upper West Side for me! My grandson's illness needs to be treated early!"
"Alright."
Inside the house, Luann Weaver had just finished bathing and was sitting at the table with a design drawing in front of her, already two thirds completed.
The voice of a video call disrupted her thoughts.
A beautiful face appeared on her phone.
She was wearing a pink outfit, with two ponytails tied on either side of her head, holding a large fan, and charmingly winked at Luann Weaver.
The corners of Luann Weaver's mouth twitched. "Are you doing cosplay?"
"Yes, yes! This is the wedding gift I'm giving you," the girl said with a sweet smile.
"Holly Weiss, you're so stingy." Luann Weaver sighed, "At least give me something substantial."
"Then tell me, what do you lack? Girls like clothes and jewelry, or maybe a diamond ring. You don't care about any of that." Holly Weiss rolled her eyes.
Luann Weaver lowered her eyes and said calmly, "I do actually care about jewelry."
Holly Weiss scoffed and looked disgusted.
"You've got to be kidding me!"
"It's only because of some competition lately. You bought it just to study the design style of your competitors."
"Others might not know, but how could I not be aware?"
Luann Weaver responded casually, "Hmm, hmm, you're the smartest."
Holly Weiss sneered and had a mischievous smile on her face.
"By the way, how's your relationship with your husband? Are you two harmonious in that aspect?"
Luann Weaver blushed and found it difficult to deal with this sister who liked to provoke her.
"It's okay, but between him and me... we haven't..."
"What? Really?" Holly Weiss showed a shocked expression as if she had seen a ghost. "There's still a man in this world who is not tempted by you? He must have some problem in bed!"
Luann Weaver looked surprised, "How do you know?"
Holly Weiss choked in her throat and coughed violently, her big eyes filled with astonishment.
"Oh my god, don't scare me! How are you going to live the rest of your life?"
Luann Weaver didn't mind all this, "I don't know, just take it step by step."
"Oh, you're quite miserable. During these last few days, I specifically looked up information about Myron Curtis. I heard he has some unique fetishes. Is it true?" Holly Weiss gossiped.
Luann Weaver glanced back at the cabinet and replied, "If you mean various types of sleepwear..."
"Forget about sleepwear!"
Luann Weaver stood up and scanned her phone.
On the other end, Holly Weiss suddenly screamed, "Oh my god! It's so exciting! The white one, the white one, put it on and let me see!"
"Dream on."
Holly Weiss pouted and acted aggrieved, "Waa waa waa, we grew up together since we were little, I've seen you running around naked in the backyard. What are you shy for?"
"Besides, our figures are similar. If it looks good on you, mail it to me!"
Luann Weaver hesitated, "That's not really appropriate..."
"What's inappropriate about it? It's a waste to keep it in your house anyway, especially since your husband is inadequate."
Luann Weaver's gaze wavered, but in the end, she took out that piece of sleepwear.
Before changing in the bathroom, she made sure to lock the door of the bedroom.
The gauzy style on Luann Weaver's body didn't have any seductiveness, but instead gave off a heavenly and ethereal vibe, making her look exceptionally beautiful.
Holly Weiss could only vaguely see the silhouette moving and couldn't see clearly, so she couldn't help but urge her.
"Where are you? Why are you taking so long?"
Luann Weaver shouted, "Coming," and just as she walked out of the bathroom, she heard the sound of the door clicking shut.
Myron Curtis walked in with his long legs.
The two locked eyes, and even the air stood still for three seconds.
"Ah!"
Luann Weaver panicked and tried to run back to the bathroom, but bumped into the door with a loud thud, causing her eyes to see stars from the pain.
Myron Curtis immediately approached and asked concernedly, "Are you okay?"
"I'm... I'm fine..."
"Who are you talking to? Your husband?" Holly Weiss's voice suddenly interrupted Luann Weaver.
Luann Weaver: "..."
"Sorry, I have something urgent here, let's not chat for now."
"Oh, and I forgot to tell you, I'll be coming to the upper west side next week, remember to pick me up from the airport!"
Click-click-click-
Myron Curtis asked, "Your friend?"
"Oh? Oh... yes, my friend."
Luann Weaver's long eyelashes trembled anxiously as she pushed past Myron Curtis and took a step forward.
But to her surprise, she slipped on the still-damp floor and uncontrollably fell forward.
"Be careful!"
Someone caught her, and she fell into their arms.
As Luann Weaver opened her eyes, she realized she was actually in his embrace, without a single injury.
"Are you... are you okay? Did you hit your head?"
Luann Weaver was a little worried as she reached out to touch his head, but he grabbed her wrist.
"I'm fine."
"Then... then..."
Before Luann Weaver could finish her sentence, she noticed something was off.
Before she could fully comprehend it, Myron Curtis had already sat up, still holding her in his arms.
Luann Weaver exclaimed, "Oh my goodness, why is you nose bleeding?!"
