Chapter 452 She Cheated

The car pulled up in front of a dessert shop. The two of them walked in and grabbed a seat by the window. It was pretty late, and the place was almost empty.

Elodie ordered a small cake and a coffee, but she just stared at them without touching either.

Luann raised an eyebrow. "Aren't you gonna eat?"

Elodie shook her head, her gaze fixed. "Eating will make me gain weight. I have a promotional shoot in Sunflower the day after tomorrow. My agent wants me to keep my figure."

She gently placed a hand on her flat stomach. "I gain weight so easily. One small cake and I'll be a pound heavier tomorrow."

Luann's eyes widened a bit. "Seriously?"

"Yep."

"Isn't it tough just watching and not eating? How about I help you out?" Luann grabbed a delicate silver fork, sliced a perfect piece of the chocolate mousse, and popped it into her mouth. The exquisite taste, sweet with a hint of bitterness, made her close her eyes in delight.

Elodie watched Luann with an expressionless face, but there was a flicker of envy in her eyes.

When Luann was about to dive into her third cake, Elodie finally couldn't hold back. "It's almost eleven. If you keep eating like that, you'll gain weight."

"Nope, I don't gain weight easily," Luann said with a grin.

Elodie looked envious. "Are you coming to the shoot? You're the fashion designer for Sunflower, right?"

Luann nodded. "Yeah."

"Why don't we go together then? The schedule is tight, and my agent won't be coming with me."

"Sure," Luann agreed.

"Give me your info, and I'll book the tickets later," Elodie said, pulling out her phone to make a note. It'd be hard to get seats together if they bought tickets separately.

"No worries," Luann waved her off.

Elodie insisted. "Don't be so polite. I suggested we go together, so I'll treat."

"I mean, I have two people to bring along too. Why not take a private jet? It's convenient and fast, and we can leave whenever," Luann said seriously.

Elodie was silent for a moment. She'd forgotten how wealthy Luann was.

"That works. Just let me know," Elodie said.

"Just tell me when you're leaving. My schedule's flexible, so it's up to you," Luann said, understanding the tight schedules artists have.

Hearing this, Elodie felt a bit touched and thought, 'Luann is really considerate and generous. No wonder Ernest has his eye on her.'

The phone on the table rang. Luann answered, and Alvin's angry voice came through, "Luann! You lied to me! Elodie isn't here!"

"She was, but you were too late. We already left. Don't believe me? Here," Luann handed the phone to Elodie.

Elodie cooperatively said, "Hello, this is Elodie."

The yelling on the other end of the line suddenly stopped, replaced by a low, deliberate voice. "Hello, Ms. Rivera, looking forward to our next meeting."

Elodie silently handed the phone back.

After hanging up, Alvin rolled his eyes, glancing at Emma, who was sprawled in his arms, drunk and smacking her lips. He gritted his teeth. "You've got some nerve, drinking this much. I'll tell Joshua when we get back and let him deal with you."

Since Joshua and Luann had gotten along well, even the relationship with Myron had improved.

Alvin felt more comfortable talking to Joshua now. Before, he would avoid him if he saw him.

Emma flushed and mumbled, smacking her lips, "Myron, someone wants to kiss Luann. Stop him, quick!"

Alvin paused, incredulously looking down. "Who wants to kiss Luann?"

No matter how Alvin shook her, Emma couldn't say another word.

Alvin let out a long sigh of relief. "Elodie? They're both girls, it's fine. Myron is broad-minded, he can handle it."

With that, Alvin hoisted Emma over his shoulder and walked to the car.

"I... I feel sick," Emma mumbled softly.

"Speak up, I can't hear you," Alvin said. But the next second, he heard a retching sound.

Alvin was on the verge of a breakdown. "This is the new outfit I wore just to see Elodie! Emma!"

At dawn, Luann got up, took a shower, and went downstairs for breakfast before heading to the office.

As soon as she got downstairs, she saw Hill wearing a worn-out tank top with a loose black and white checkered jacket over it and yawning listlessly.

"Hey there." Hill waved at Luann.

Luann smiled and walked over. "You're here early?"

"I always come to work on time." Hill pointed to the hat in front of her.

Luann squatted down to take a look, casually rummaging through it. "Looks like business hasn't been good lately, only two dollars?"

Hill's gaze was fixed on Luann's lips. "No lipstick today?"

Luann checked her reflection with her phone. "I ate a sandwich on the way. The lipstick came off." She reached into her bag but realized she hadn't brought her lipstick.

Hill stood up. "Let's go. I'll take you shopping."

Luann chuckled. "Feeling leisurely today?"

"Staying here every day is too boring. It's been a while since I went shopping. Let's have a good time, just us girls." Hill naturally put her arm around Luann.

Hill was tall and slender. Although her clothes were a bit worn, they weren't dirty, so she had a certain charm. However, not far from them, someone was watching this scene with a shocked expression.

"Damn, how did they end up hugging? I knew there was something fishy about Hill hanging around the main office and then following me to Aspire Securities. Turns out he was after Luann. Why isn't Luann resisting? Just letting Hill hug her like that?" Joshua's mind was in chaos, stunned by what he saw. He thought, 'Could it be that Luann is cheating with Hill?'
