Chapter 81 An Authentic Scene

Eddy stood on the busy street, watching the departing car with frustration.

"It's over, it's over, he's really angry this time..."

"Myron~"

"My my~"

"Ron ron~"

"Listen to me, let me explain~"

Eddy hailed a car and chased after them.

Myron incessantly checked the time displayed on his phone in the car. His handsome brows twisted with impatience as he urged.

"Drive faster!"

Half an hour later, Myron finally arrived at the small building.

He quickly got out of the car, placed the scarred patch of skin on his face, and strode inside.

With sharp eyes, he scanned the room, accurately spotting a little woman sitting on the floor unable to get up.

Luann leaned against the sofa with half her body, her right leg stretched out.

Her face was pale as paper, forehead covered in sweat, and the roots of her hair were dampened.

"Luann!"

Myron squatted in front of her and grasped her hand firmly.

It was cold to the bone.

"How are you?"

"Where does it hurt?"

A trace of surprise flashed in Luann's eyes.

"You came so quickly."

Myron's usually expressionless face showed a hint of panic at this moment, but he forced himself to stay composed and nodded.

"I happened to be nearby, so once I received your call, I immediately located you."

Luann nodded and pointed at her foot.

"I sprained my ankle."

Myron's pupils shrank suddenly. He looked up at the three-story height and immediately guessed the reason, thinking of what Eddy had said.

He quickly took off his suit jacket, draped it over Luann's delicate body, and fastened the buttons.

Then, he carried Luann in a princess hold.

"I'll take you to the hospital."

As they reached the doorstep, a taxi pulled up in front of them.

Eddy rolled down the window.

Waving.

"Ah, haha...what a coincidence..."

Myron's face remained cold, not even giving him a glance. He carried Luann into the car.

Eddy hastily changed cars to follow, leaving the backseat to the two of them.

Only after sitting down did Eddy immediately ask, turning his head.

"Is Miss Luann okay?"

Luann leaned back in pain against the seat, her right foot uncomfortable as it touched the ground. She replied perfunctorily.

"I'm fine."

Eddy breathed a sigh of relief.

Thank goodness the little rascal is fine.

Otherwise, Myron would have killed him.

“That’s good, that’s good. Let’s get in the car quickly.”

"Myron, we can still make it if we hurry."

Upon hearing this, Luann immediately said two sentences.

"If you have something urgent, you can go ahead."

"I can go to the hospital alone for a check-up and get the medication."

Myron's willingness to come and pick her up meant that he was already with too much respect and dignity.

After all, they were a married couple only in name.

Eddy's face was filled with joy, and he couldn't help but marvel at Luann's understanding.

"That's really..."

The word “good” hadn’t even come out yet.

Myron's cold expression darkened slightly, and his tone became domineering and unquestionable.

"I don't trust you going alone, let’s not forget your foot injury is severe and even walking is difficult."

Eddy's heart skipped a beat, feeling the faint chill and hostility emanating from Myron. His weak hand reached out towards the door lock.

If things didn't feel right, he could immediately jump out of the car and escape.

"Miss Luann...is injured?" Eddy asked cautiously.

Luann clenched her pearl-white teeth, her exquisite face filled with seriousness and anger.

When she first met Curtis, she didn't expect him to be like this!

"Yes."

Eddy's smile froze, a professional fake smile as he asked in a matter-of-fact manner, "What happened exactly, what's going on..."

Luann helplessly raised her hands.

"I also want to know what happened. Last night, Curtis, Vincenzo Norman's student, saw me and immediately grabbed me and locked me up here."

“I suspect he’s got some mental issues, he’s like a maniac!”

Thinking about this, Luann was still angry.

Myron's ink-dark eyes swiftly shifted to the side and coldly glanced at Eddy.

Eddy's mouth twitched, and he made faces at Myron.

As if saying—

Do you think the word "maniac" is only directed at me?

You're involved too!

Eddy's acting skills were superb, his fists clenched in anger as he defended Luann.

"This is unacceptable. This man has crossed the line!"

"But you didn't have to take such a risk by jumping out of the window, it's so dangerous."

"Thank goodness it was just a foot injury, if you accidentally fell, you could've lost your life."

Luann couldn't help but cover her forehead.

"I didn't want that either, but that guy never came back. There was nothing in the room, and I didn't even have a sip of water the whole night."

"It was only after I jumped down from the third floor and entered the living room that I found so much food on the table!"

Eddy spoke tentatively, his face expressionless.

As if he wasn't the one who locked Luann up.

"Perhaps that food was left by the maniac for you."

Luann looked at him as if he were an idiot.

“What kind of joke is that?”

"If he really wanted me to eat, did he need to lock me up?"

Just as she finished speaking, an untimely sound rung out.

Dong—

Eddy's gaze gradually lowered, settling on her flat belly.

"You didn't eat anything, did you?"

Luann just shook her head.

“It’s admirable.”

"Even if I starve, I won't eat anything he buys!"

Eddy: “...”

After a while, Myron didn't hear the person next to him speak.

Luann turned her head and found the person beside her emitting an inexplicably low oppressive aura.

Myron lowered his head slightly, and his fine bangs covered his expression, concealing the remorse in his usually cold eyes.

At that moment, the car made a turn.

The dazzling sunlight streamed in through the window, illuminating Myron, but couldn't dispel the endless coldness surrounding him.

His almost perfect profile glowed, and his straight posture exuded an indescribable air of elegance.

As if noticing someone's gaze, Myron glanced sideways, his long eyelashes trembling slightly.

In an instant, all the emotions in his dark eyes crumbled.

He sighed softly.

"I'm sorry."

Luann didn’t understand the meaning behind his words.

Myron turned his head away again.

His voice was somewhat ethereal.
"I'm late."

Luann unconsciously fidgeted with the cushion. “I should be the one thanking you.”

Myron didn't respond.

After a while, he asked the driver to stop in front of a burger joint.

He ordered several combo meals and brought them into the car.

Eddy extended his hand towards him.

"So considerate, I haven't eaten much for lunch..."

Eddy watched as the bags of food passed by in front of him, only to be placed next to Luann.
"Eat first, soothe your stomach."

“Thank you.”

Myron closed the door and lowered his head to glance at Luann's awkwardly placed foot.
“Turn around and put your legs on me.”

"Huh?"

Myron bent down, carefully holding her ankles, and let her put her legs on his lap.

"Isn't this inappropriate?"

She was still wearing shoes, which could mess his pants.

"It's fine."

Myron grabbed a pillow and placed it behind Luann's waist, allowing her to lean comfortably.

Throughout the entire process, his expression remained unchanged, his posture calm, as if such actions were not his first time.

Eddy stared in astonishment.

Usually, even when Eddy just leaned on Myron’s shoulder, he would be rejected.

But now he allowed Luann to place her feet on him?

And the person who just said they would rather starve than eat something bought by him was now devouring a burger.

Clearly, she was famished.
