Chapter 468 Too Arrogant

Sharon gazed at the television, her ears attuned, intermittently catching fragments of Eddy's incessant chatter.

She sighed and pondered, 'Eddy rarely set foot in the kitchen at home. Though he could prepare a handful of dishes, none were worth mentioning. 'And now he's giving Myron instructions? One has the temerity to speak, and the other the audacity to listen.'

"Dinner's ready." A voice made everyone stand up in unison.

Mira swallowed. She had actually smelled the aroma a long time ago but had been polite enough not to get up.

Everyone took their seats.

Luann was sandwiched between Myron and Adolph.

"Dig in," Luann said with a smile.

The two men beside her immediately started serving her food.

"Sweetheart, have some greens to get your vitamins." Myron voiced firstly

"Luann, you love shrimp, right? Get your protein." Adolph said next.

Luann froze awkwardly.

Even Elodie and Mira across the table were watching the scene with amused looks.

Luann forced a smile, "No need to be so polite, I can serve myself."

Adolph smiled warmly, "Which one do you want to eat first?"

Luann could clearly hear her own nervous heartbeat and reflected, 'What's Adolph up to? If it were Williams, this scene might make sense. But Adolph is the one who doted on her the most. Why is he causing such a scene?'

Luann gritted her teeth, wrapped the greens around the shrimp, and put it all in her mouth.

Luann felt a bit overwhelmed by the saltiness.

"Is it good?"

"Is it good?" Adolph chattered.

Luann faked a smile, "It's especially good."

Mira eagerly took a bite, only to find it very salty.

But seeing that Luann didn't say anything, Mira didn't dare to speak up, either.

"Do you make these greens?" Luann looked at Myron. She could immediately tell who had cooked the dish.

Myron felt a bit guilty and didn't dare to look at her, "Yeah, it's me."

Luann gave him a thumbs up and complimented, "Pretty good."

"But you don't have to work so hard next time. Leave it to the chef." Luann continued.

Myron nodded, touched by her concern.

Luann sighed in relief, 'Thank goodness. If he cooked a few more times, I'd be half-dead. Haven't he done well before? It isn't gourmet, but at least it is decent. Why is today's dish such a failure?'

Adolph ate a piece of overcooked greens and didn't hold back.

"Myron, did your hand slip and dump a whole box of salt in here?" Adolph said.

As soon as he said that, he got a hard nudge in the waist.

Adolph pretended not to grasp Luann's meaning, saying, "Luann, why do you hit me? I'm just telling the truth. You have to point it out to correct it, right?"

Myron's expression changed slightly. He quickly took a bite and found that Adolph was right. His eyes dimmed a bit.

Eddy's guidance was worse than his own efforts.

"Well, it's okay. I think it's pretty good. I like it this way," Luann defended him.

Adolph pouted as well and didn't criticize anymore.

However, during the meal, except for Luann occasionally ate some of Myron's dishes, everyone else ate Adolph's cooking.

Even Myron couldn't help but eat more. It was truly delicious.

The gap was too big to bridge.

At least it wasn't Williams who could cook.

He didn't need to feel threatened.

Adolph stood up and said, "Everyone's done eating, so I'll clean up the dishes."

Luann said, "We don't have a dishwasher at home. There are so many dishes. Let's wash them together."

"It's okay, I can handle it alone," Adolph uttered, glancing at Myron. It seemed he was waiting for Myron to volunteer.

Myron didn't disappoint him. He parted his lips slightly, "Then you clean up alone. We've been on a plane all day and are tired."

Adolph was stunned and thought, 'Isn't he supposed to take this opportunity to make up for the bad dish in front of Luann?'

Myron didn't give Adolph any chance to resist. He grabbed his suitcase and went upstairs to find a room.

Elodie sensed the tension and took Mira with her.

Only Adolph was left to clean up the dishes.

He sighed from time to time.

Only Luann stood motionless.

Adolph was moved to tears.

"Luann is the best, staying to keep me company."

Luann spoke directly, "Why are you giving Myron a hard time?"

Adolph was incredulous, "How am I giving him a hard time? I'm full of goodwill towards him."

"Adolph, do you think I'm stupid? You're deliberately making Myron look bad." Luann retorted.

"Who told him to marry you?"

"Can't I give him a little test?" Adolph shrugged.

"Besides, if you're already this concerned, what will you do when he meets Jones? Won't you faint from anger?"

"You know Jones's temperament," Adolph explained.

Luann frowned slightly. She walked into the house with annoyance.

The bed was already made.

The sheets were white and neat, and the bedding was soft.

Myron gently smoothed her hair and smiled, "Want some hot milk? I saw some in the fridge."

"Okay," Luann replied.

Myron went downstairs unhurriedly.

He took a carton of milk from the fridge and a cup from the cabinet.

Standing next to Adolph, he slowly poured the milk.

Adolph glanced at him from the corner of his eye from time to time.

The milk was poured, and he put the cup in the microwave to heat it.

"Looks like you're fully prepared to meet the Miller family," Adolph said slowly.

Myron nodded slightly.

"The member of the Miller family isn't as easygoing as I am. You better be ready," Adolph chuckled.

Myron stood there, with his back straight and his figure tall.

His dark eyes moved from the cup to Adolph's face.

"Please pass that message to the Miller family as well."

Adolph snorted, "Pretty arrogant, huh?"

But he did have the right to be arrogant.

The microwave beeped, signaling the end of its cycle.

Myron opened it and took out the cup.

He turned his face, the soft light outlining his chiseled features.

"Your ribs healed?" Myron asked.

Adolph's smile stiffened, "What are you talking about?"

"Didn't you boast about your keen insight in front of me before?" Myron's thin lips curved slightly, a cold arc barely visible. "Why pretend not to recognize me now?"

Adolph was smart.
