Chapter 110 the Curtis family Pendant

Joshua thought he had misheard.

"What did you say?"

Grandpa repeated each word slowly and deliberately.

"I said."

"Apologize to Luann!"

Upon confirmation, Joshua exploded.

"What do you mean by this?"

Grandpa coldly stared at him.

"What do I mean? Don't you know what I mean?"

Joshua burned with anger, his fingers forcefully pressing, nearly breaking the ring on his little finger.

"Luann wants to take my position as the director!"

"Why does she deserve it?"

Grandpa's expression remained natural, speaking in a light and lively tone.

"Just because she's my newly wedded daughter-in-law."

"When you meet for the first time, don't you have to give a gift?"

"She asked for it, and I can’t say no."

Alvin sighed silently.

Makes sense.

Joshua's lips trembled, and his teeth clashed violently in anger, making it almost impossible for him to speak clearly.

"So, you're going to cut me off?"

"Myron is nothing but a failure who brings more harm than good! What can he do for the Curtis family? He can't even take care of himself! Why are you so biased towards him?"

The old man's face darkened, and he forcefully knocked his cane on the ground, creating a dull and oppressive sound.

"If you can see how miserable he has become, wouldn't he be even more pitiful if I weren't biased towards him?"

Joshua widened his eyes, momentarily stunned.

For a moment, he couldn't find any words to refute.

"You...you..."

Joshua's chest ached with anger as he glared fiercely at a completely unsurprised Myron and stormed out.

Alvin shouted, "Brother!"

"Don't bother with him! It's going to be a storm!" The old man coldly hummed and picked up his chopsticks. "Let's eat!"

The meal was consumed with everyone's minds elsewhere. After finally finishing, Diana and Watson found excuses to leave.

Alvin slipped away as well. Leaving only Luann and Myron.

"It's getting late. Stay here and rest for the night."

Luann nodded, "Okay."

The rooms had already been prepared by the servants. Luann took a shower, turned on the air conditioning, and sat on the edge of the bed, watching TV.

However, Myron had not returned yet.

Unable to help herself, she pushed open the door and saw a servant at the entrance. She inquired, "Where is the young master?"

"He was called to the study by the old man."

It had been so long...

The study was filled with the fragrance of agarwood, adorned with biographies of famous people and calligraphy scripts.

The gentle sound of water trickled, and a teapot was poured, filling delicate and costly tea cups. After filling a cup of tea, the old man pushed it towards Myron.

On his face, there was no trace of dignity or intimidation.

At this moment, he seemed like a kind old grandfather from the neighborhood. When he smiled, the wrinkles around his eyes were deep, with a hint of self-satisfaction.

"How was it?"

"I performed well just now, didn't I?"

"It was seamless, and quite convincing, wasn't it?"

Myron calmly took a sip and softly murmured.

"That's good, that's good, Myron, if you want to do something next time, just tell me directly. There's no need to make such a fuss. Look, you even went to the company and dismantled the elevator..."

A sharp and chilly gaze swept over.

The old man's tone suddenly changed.

"Dismantled...well done!"

It's just a pity for his old bones. He'll have to squeeze into the elevator with others when he goes to the company in the future.

"Don't worry, I'll have someone rebuild another elevator." Myron casually said.

The old man's finger circled around the cane, unsure of what trick Myron was playing.

"Alright, alright, anyway, this company will eventually be yours. You can make whatever changes you want."

Although Myron might not necessarily care.

"But I have an important question to ask you. Weren't you negotiating a bid abroad recently?"

"Why did that guy tell me that the bid failed?"

Myron flashes Luann's enchanting figure in his mind.

"I had something else to attend to, so I didn't go."

The corners of the old man's mouth twitched. He initially wanted to scold Myron, but considering Myron's current status, he could only nod.

"Young people these days, they lack martial integrity... I understand, I understand."

"Well then... Let Luann go to work at the company tomorrow."

"As for Joshua, I will prepare him mentally."

"Oh, right. Call Luann over."

"As a grandfather, I should give her a little gift for meeting her."

Myron gave him a look that said he's being reasonable and leaves.

Once he'd gone, the old man finally sighed. It was pitiful that at his age, he was still being suppressed by his own grandson.

Recalling the past, Myron started interning at the company and took on various challenging contract projects.

Those days were probably the most glorious for the entire Curtis Family. Unfortunately, the good times didn't last, as a sudden fire disrupted the beautiful situation.

Myron, who wasn't fond of being with people, became even more closed off and distrusting of those around him.

He didn't want to return to the Curtis family home anymore and instead made a name for himself overseas.

Once he got back on track, he brought Eddy along with him.

Only John, the butler, and he knew about this.

Oh, who knows if that fire was a blessing or a curse for him.

He has witnessed step by step Myron's departure from the Curtis family and the creation of an industry tenfold or hundredfold larger than the Curtis family.

Not to mention just a small design director.

If Myron's in a bad mood, he can simply acquire the Curtis family with a wave of his hand.

"Can't afford to provoke him!"

Just as the old man was lost in his thoughts, the sound of the door interrupted him. Immediately, he sat up straight, lowered his voice, and exuded authority.

"Come in."

Luann entered.

The old man scrutinized her.

What is this girl capable of that made Myron personally go to Curtis Group and help her secure this position?

Surely, she holds a significant place in Myron's heart.

That's good. Myron has never had someone close to him, accompanying him.

"Grandfather."

The old man nodded and took out a pile of things from the side, placing them in front of her.

"Now that you're the daughter-in-law of the Curtis family, there's something I want to give you."

"Accept it."

Luann looks at the two documents and a brocade box, not understanding, and opened them.

Inside the brocade box lay a pendant necklace that may not be eye-catching but was evidently an antique.

It had no distinguishing features, but was the delicate emerald in the middle that shimmered faintly.

However, Luann's pupils suddenly contracted. Her fingertips instinctively trembled.

She looked up in surprise, suppressing the shock in her heart and asked casually, "Grandpa, what's this?"

"A token of our first meeting." he replied.

A token?

Who would give the exclusive pendant of the Curtis family's helm as a token of their first meeting?

Outsiders might not know, but Luann, who had already obtained all the information about the Curtis family from her brother, definitely knew, didn't she?

Only the next helm of the Curtis family was qualified to receive this pendant.

What was this old man up to?
