Chapter 111 Tasting Toothpaste

Luann flipped through the contract. One was a 20% equity transfer certificate. The other was several properties owned by the Curtis family's company.

Compared to Diana's previous presentation of shares, they seemed insignificant.

If outsiders were to see these things, they would surely be dumbfounded and unable to speak from the shock.

20% of the shares!

This was something that even the members of the Curtis family would fight tooth and nail for, but couldn't get!

Luann didn't have much reaction to this, but she couldn't understand Old Mr. Curtis's actions.

"What's this for?" she asked.

"It's our first meeting, and I don't have anything good to give. Don't be deceived by the quantity, they're actually worth very little," Old Mr. Curtis said casually.

If someone who didn't know the situation heard this, they would probably be fooled by him.

"I don't understand the rest," Luann pretended, "but I do understand this equity transfer."

"You are now the Chairlady of the Curtis Group, and also the holder of the most company shares."

"If you give them to me, then won't you..." Luann started to say.

Old Mr. Curtis waved his hand casually.

"How many more days can this old body live? These worthless things will eventually be given away."

As he said this, his voice suddenly dropped in volume.

"I was just worrying about not being able to give them away..."

Giving them to Myron wasn't something he cared about at all.

Even the helm pendant, he found it ugly and didn't even glance at it.

Once he finally managed to give it to Myron, he found it in the trash an hour later.

Old Mr. Curtis had never felt so frustrated.

The family business that looked so glorious in the eyes of outsiders and the Curtis family members was nothing more than dirt in front of Myron.

Fine, fine.

Then it should be fine to give it to Luann, right? After all, she was chosen by Myron. It couldn't be wrong.

"Grandpa..."

"Enough!"

The old man's voice turned stern but not angry as his cane banged on the ground.

"If you say it again, I'll get mad."

Luann fell silent for a moment.

"Then I have one condition."

Old Mr. Curtis's eyelids twitched, thinking she was still unsatisfied.

"Go ahead."
Luann raised her calm gaze and said, "The position of Design Director doesn't require Joshua to approve. I want to compete with him fairly."

"?"

You must be joking! A young girl in her early twenties, who do you think you are?

"Cough, suit yourself."

That way, she doesn't need to convince Joshua.

"Thank you, grandpa."

Luann stood up.

The old man couldn't help but remind her again, "That necklace is very valuable, don't lose it, or I won't recognize you as my daughter-in-law."

"Okay."

As she entered the room, Myron sat on the small sofa, sinking half of his body into it.

He lazily glanced at her when he heard her voice. His gaze slightly focused.

"What are you holding in your hand?"

Luann raised it towards him, "Grandpa gave it to me."

The corner of Myron's mouth twitched. This old guy, he really gets into everything!

"It looks quite nice," Luann said.

Myron casually asked, "Do you like these things?"

"They're alright, but I'm a little sleepy. It's not early anymore, let's rest quickly."

"Mmm."

They got into bed, and Luann and Myron silently stayed on their respective sides, neither crossing any boundaries.

It's not that Myron didn't want to cross, but even if he did, it wouldn't make a difference. It would only make him feel unnecessarily frustrated.

Luann lay on her side, rarely experiencing insomnia.

It wasn't until her shoulder started to ache that she turned over and happened to meet Myron's deep and ambiguous gaze.

"You scared me..."

Myron remained silent, extending his slender index finger to lightly hold a strand of her hair, playing with it between his fingertips.

"Can't sleep?"

"Mmm, grandpa gave me a lot of things..."

"You deserve them."

Luann hesitated, wanting to say something but stopping herself, then Myron's fingertip tightened gradually, his ink-colored eyes filled with deep affection.

"Marrying me was meant to give you a good life."

"Whatever you like, whatever you want, just tell me."

Luann's heart skipped a beat. She tucked her hair back and turned over again.

"Mmm, let's sleep."

It was already bright outside.

Luann slowly woke up. She sat up, forcefully ruffling her messy hair, and slowly got out of bed.

"Myron?"

She called. No response.

Luann squinted, yawned, and walked towards the bathroom.

Pushing the door open, Myron was there, brushing his teeth.

"Oh, why didn't you turn on the light?"

As she was about to leave, her wrist was grabbed. The door slammed shut, blocking out most of the light.

Before Luann could react, a new electric toothbrush was shoved into her hand.

"Together."

"Oh..."

After both of them finished brushing their teeth and washing their faces in front of the spacious sink, Luann wanted to escape.

But she was pressed against the door.

"What scent is your toothpaste?"

Luann was full of question marks in her mind, her head against the door, unable to lean back any further.

"Aren't we using the same toothpaste?"

"No, yours seems to smell better, and I want to taste it a little."

"But..."

Before she could finish her sentence, a storm-like kiss swept her away.

Luann was overwhelmed by the passionate kiss, unable to resist but to surrender to the desire.

The doorbell rang before Myron regained his senses.

"Young master, young madam, it's time for breakfast."

Only then did Myron release Luann. She pressed her hand against his chest, her black eyes shimmering with moisture, slightly reddened around the edges.

Her voice carried a delicate nasal tone, and her clear eyes held a hint of grievance and accusation.

"You're cheating."

"Hmm?"

Myron bent down, his forehead against hers. They were close, breathing in sync.

"We haven't... been together yet... and you're kissing me?"

"We're husband and wife. What I did just now is something every couple does. It's not against the rules, right?"

Myron's explanation made sense as he pulled her by the shoulder, leading them downstairs.

On their way down, they saw Joshua standing in the living room, forbidding them from having breakfast.

He glared at the couple resentfully.

After filling their stomachs, they left the old house. Luann found an excuse to separate from Myron and went to find Holly.

Once they arrived, she took out the pendant and told her everything in detail. After listening, Holly promptly dialed Adolph's video call on her phone.

Luann immediately stopped her, saying, "Wait, it should be late at night on his side."

"It's only around ten o'clock, when did he start going to sleep so early?"

However, Holly called three or four times, and the last one was even hung up on. Holly could only pin her hopes on Luann.

"Luann, you call."

Luann smiled lightly and said, "Even if I call, it will be the same..."

Before she could finish her sentence, the call connected and Adolph's refined and elegant face appeared on the screen.

Holly shrugged and gave her a look that said, 'See, I told you so.'

"My dear Luann, come here and give me a kiss."

"Just now, that troublemaker Holly called me like crazy, but I didn't even bother with her!"

Holly peeked out from beside Luann, smiling insincerely, her lips curved.

"Could it be that you've forgotten about the incident where you ruined Big Brother's lab reagents last time?"

"..."

"The head of the Curtis Group inherited the pendant?"

"Luann, where did you get it from?"

"Is it a replica?"

"Or is it real?"

Luann said seriously, "It's real. Grandpa Curtis gave it to me personally."

"Why would he give it to you out of the blue? Did he find something? Did you reveal something?" Adolph suddenly became nervous.

Holly, on the other hand, said with great trust, "How could Luann have revealed anything? She has completed so many tasks over the years without a single failure."

"That's true..."

Adolph's tension seemed to ease a bit, thinking about Luann's abnormal level of perfection.

"I've heard that Grandpa Curtis really favors Myron and has been grooming him as the successor."

Holly firmly refuted, "That was in the past!"

"Now, Myron has no position in the Curtis Group and cannot shoulder any responsibilities."

"Even if Grandpa Curtis still wants him as the successor, he must consider the interests of the other members of the Curtis family, right?"

"I believe he wouldn't bring the Curtis family to ruin for his own selfish desires."

"That would be the act of a fool."

Adolph scoffed, "Even Kelan could see it, so it's obvious there's a problem."

Luann pursed her red lips, feeling overwhelmed.

Adolph immediately asked, "Luann, what are you thinking?"

"There's another possibility." Luann's voice was heavy.

"What is it?"

"Myron still has the qualifications to inherit the Curtis family Legacy. Perhaps there is a secret that only he and Grandpa know, not the outsiders."

Adolph looked at Luann's face, and the heavy weight in his heart resurfaced.

"Don't act impulsively. Myron is not an ordinary person. If he becomes desperate..."

Luann understood Adolph's concern and smiled brightly at him.

"Don't worry, brother."

Holly tilted her head, looked at Luann, then at Adolph.

"Hey, why are you guys making the atmosphere so tense?"

"I don't think things are as complicated as you think."

"Myron is crazy about Luann. If Luann offers herself to him and pleases him, she can ask anything in bed."

Luann's cheeks turned red, and she tightened her five fingers, delicate nails digging into her palm.

Adolph coughed lightly.

"What nonsense are you talking about? No filter in your mouth."

"Does a man as ugly as him deserve my sister's sacrifice?"

Holly rolled her eyes, without processing the words. 'It's not like I haven't given myself away before. What difference does one or two times make?'

Adolph's face darkened at a visible speed. Luann sensed something was wrong.

“Brother, I have something to do, let me hang up!”

Click—

Adolph angrily redialed, but Luann didn't answer.

“Luann!”

“Have you completely lost your mind and become indiscriminate with your choices?”

“My dear sister! I'm so worried about you! Myron, I want to peel your skin layer by layer with a surgical knife!”
