Chapter 301 Concealing Intentions
This time's competition was surprisingly shocking.
When the officials released the pictures of the top fifty winners' works this year, everyone was frantically to save them.
[Avoida's work is as excellent as ever! Flawless!]
[I heard Avoida will also attend the awards ceremony this year, is it true? I'm anxious, please tell me!]
[This is such a big deal. The officials should have announced it.]
[The second place Ethan's sales seem to be not much different from Avoida's. It's the first time I've seen this person, does anyone know him?]
[Great news! The list of attendees for the awards ceremony is out! Avoida is really on it! I’m so excited, what should I do!]
[Is it still possible to buy tickets now?]
[The high ticket prices and travel costs were too expensive. I'll just watch the live stream online.]
[It hold the same effect when watching the live stream ! I bet the camera will focus a lot on Avoida.]
When yawning Emma came across this message, she bounced off the bed.
She danced with joy, extremely happy.
"Luann said it's true! Avoida is actually going to attend this year!"
In a hurry, Emma pulled out the luggage she had already packed under the bed and rushed downstairs.
Fortunately, there was no one in the living room except for the maid. Before leaving, Emma said to Mario, "I'll be staying at a friend's house for the next couple of days, don't disturb me!"
"Alright."
Excited, Emma got into the car and headed straight to the airport.
Ticket collection, boarding, finding a seat, all done in one go.
Emma prepared her eye mask, took out some snacks, ready for a long plane journey.
However, just five minutes before the plane was about to take off, the last person to board hurriedly came in, settled in next to her after arranging his belongings.
"Emma?"
Upon hearing this familiar voice, Emma looked up from her phone.
" Lionel, , why are you here too..."
Pausing, Emma realized something.
"Are you also going to the awards ceremony venue?"
Dressed in a crisp white shirt, Lionel had a tall and clean figure, with a gentle smile.
"Yes, I'm looking forward to this year's event."
Unable to resist, Emma reached out her hand towards Lionel, seemingly celebrating their mutual agreement.
Lionel hesitated for a moment before shaking her hand.
Emma's palm was small, delicate, and slightly cool to the touch.
After the flight attendant completed the safety demonstration, Lionel spoke up, "Please get a blanket and a cup of hot water."
"Of course, sir, please wait a moment."
The flight attendant quickly brought them over, and Lionel gently spread the blanket over Emma.
"Lionel, what's this for?"
"The air conditioning on the plane is quite strong, and the journey is long, so be careful not to catch a cold." Lionel smiled lightly, adjusted the water to a moderate temperature, and handed it to Emma, "Take it easy on the water."
Without much thought, Emma replied, "Thank you!"
By the time the plane landed, it was already pitch black outside.
"I've already booked a hotel, would you like to stay with me?" After Lionel finished speaking, he felt a bit awkward, "I mean, we can stay at the same hotel for mutual support."
"Sure."
"I'll help you with your luggage." Lionel grabbed Emma's suitcase, carrying only a small bag himself.
The two quickly arrived at the hotel, where Lionel booked an additional room.
Emma hurriedly said, "Lionel, let me pay."
"I'll take care of it. If you feel uncomfortable, you can treat me to a meal." Lionel smiled gracefully and politely.
Emma agreed, although she had planned to go upstairs to sleep.
But since Lionel had brought it up, she was awkward to refuse him.
They found a nearby western restaurant, ordered their meals, and started chatting casually.
In fact, Emma and Lionel weren't particularly close, but Lionel was warm-hearted and often took care of her.
"After dropping out of school, which school are you planning to attend?"
Lionel folded the napkin slowly and neatly.
"I'm not sure yet, my sister will arrange it for me."
"Your sister... Grace Curtis?"
"Luann." When Emma mentioned this name, she was firm and carried a hint of pride.
Lionel didn't delve too much into the relationship between them.
"That's fine, so Jenny won't bother you anymore."
"If you ever need anything, feel free to reach out to me, I'll be there for you."
Emma smiled, "It's okay, I can ask Luann because she seemed omnipotent!"
Lionel pursed his lips slightly, with a hint of hidden agenda.
"But Luann is already married; she also needs to take care of her family."
"And we have a senior-junior relationship, so there's no need to be so formal."
"Alright."
The waiter in a tuxedo soon brought out two steaks.
Emma took out the wine that had been chilled and poured it.
Lionel skillfully and quickly cut his steak into neat pieces.
"You can have mine, it's already cut."
Glancing at it, Emma said, "No, thank you."
"Don't be polite." Lionel gestured to switch their plates.
Emma quickly stopped him, "I really don't need it!"
“Why?” There was a subtle hint of hurt in Lionel's eyes, was Emma rejecting him? But he hadn't even taken a bite.
Emma seemed hesitant, but after a moment's thought, she said, "I just feel like my piece of meat is bigger than yours."
Lionel paused for a moment, then couldn't help but chuckle softly.
Emma blushed, quickly picking up her fork.
"Ok, finish your meal and go back to rest early. You've had a long day."
"Okay."
After dinner, Emma left immediately.
She took a shower, wrapped herself in a bathrobe, and lay down on the comfortable bed, rolling around a few times.
On the bedside table was a leaflet introducing the hotel's various amenities.
There were swimming pools, hot springs, billiard rooms, karaoke, private cinemas, and countless others.
Deciding to take a nap first and then go for a soak in the hot springs, Emma set the alarm and quickly fell asleep.
Next door, Lionel had been paying attention to the sounds behind the wall.
He listened intently for a while but didn't hear any noise.
"Is she really asleep?"
A hint of melancholy flashed in his eyes.
He couldn't help but recall the first time he saw Emma when he welcomed the freshmen.
Emma was so youthful and beautiful, clean and bright, like an immaculate piece of paper.
He was unexpectedly enchanted by her.
Unfortunately, he never had the chance to express his feelings to Emma.
