Chapter 268 Broad-minded
The old lady was caught off guard by Myron's question.
She took Myron back to the living room and said, "Your grandfather, he always spoils me, and he's always there for me."
"Our relationship has been good all these years... Why do you suddenly ask this? Did you fight with Luann?" The old lady's expression tightened.
"If there's any anger or misunderstanding between a couple, it's best to resolve it quickly and not let it become a lingering issue."
Myron sighed, "She made me angry, and she didn't even try to coax me."
The old lady looked puzzled and repeated, "Did she make you angry? So are you angry now?" Myron nodded earnestly, looking humble and eager to learn. "What should I do in this situation?"
The old lady took a deep breath and then suddenly hit Myron on the head. "You, as a grown man, can't even look at your faults. What's the point of getting angry with your wife?
"Can't you be more open-minded?
"Women need to be cherished. I've never heard of a husband who needs to be cuddled by his wife!"
Myron, holding his aching head, felt that he had made the wrong decision in a moment of panic and felt very aggrieved. John stood by, holding back a smile, "Madam, you haven't asked what happened yet."
"Myron, please tell us clearly so we can think about what to do for you."
Myron earnestly recounted what had just happened.
"I just feel that it was Luann who made the food, but someone else ate it, and it made me feel upset."
The old lady immediately scolded, "You have the nerve to be upset?" "It's your fault. You can't even compete for attention! Whose fault is that?"
Myron felt totally speechless.
The old lady shook her head in disappointment, "Forget it. I can see that you haven't read the books I gave you last time."
"Myron, I really don't know what to say to you." "Good luck fending for yourself."
Luann walked in from outside, hearing the lively conversation inside. "Grandma, what are you all talking about?" She was holding a large bouquet.
The old lady immediately put on a smile, "We're not talking about anything. Why do you have so many flowers?"
"I want to arrange them in a vase and put them in the bedroom," Luann said with a smile.
The servant quickly brought a vase and placed it on the table. Luann sat on the carpet, leisurely trimming the flowers with scissors.
Seeing this, the old lady hurriedly left with John, not wanting to disturb their alone time.
Myron's face was gloomy, and he sat in the corner, looking very sad. Luann glanced at him from time to time, finding Myron in such a state quite rare and somewhat endearing.
Lost in thought, Luann suddenly felt a sharp pain in her fingertip.
Myron immediately looked over. "What's wrong?"
A drop of bright red blood appeared on Luann's hand.
Myron asked nervously, "What happened? Did you get pricked?"
He looked at the rose that was halfway through being trimmed, lying quietly on the table.
"Yes, I'm fine."
Myron grabbed her hand, squeezed out the blood, and quickly took out a first aid kit to treat her wound and put on a band-aid. "Be more careful," he paused, "or let me do it."
"Can you?" Luann looked at him with a smile.
"I can learn." Myron naturally sat next to her, picked up the rose, and started trimming it according to Luann's instructions. Soon, the vase was filled with beautifully arranged flowers.
"Good job," Luann praised, picked up the vase, and stood up to go upstairs. But as soon as she put the vase on the table, she turned around and got trapped by Myron's vibe.
His deep eyes were filled with suppressed emotions, his hands on the table, enclosing her in his embrace. There was little room to move in the narrow space, and Luann found herself leaning back, her hands on his shoulders.
"Mr. Curtis, don't you want dessert?"
"I think you're sweeter than dessert." Myron lowered his head and lightly kissed her.
Luann pouted and looked at him. "I still have things to do. We can continue tonight..."
Myron nodded, holding her waist, and sat down on the chair. Luann sat on his lap, her feet dangling, swaying gently.
"I plan to take a walk later."
"Good, I'll go with you."
"Didn't you say you had something this afternoon?"
Myron checked the time. "You're right; I almost forgot."
A nice lady ruins the day.
"You go, I'll just wander around." Luann agilely got off his lap. "Then come back early." Myron reluctantly touched her face. Luann leaned her head and affectionately rubbed her cheek in his palm.
"Okay."
Luann left the house and went to a small shop she often visited to have a bowl of pasta and a sandwich. When she went to pay, two girls in the shop were whispering.
"Oh my god, is that Luann?" Girl A asked.
"No way; how could Luann eat here?" Girl B replied.
"It really looks like her. Let's go and check it out!" Girl A suggested.
The two young girls looked at each other, left their food untouched, and hurriedly followed.
They followed Luann as if they were tracking someone's privacy, hiding here and there.
"You run ahead and pretend to wave at me to see if it's Luann!" Girl A said.
"No problem!" Girl B replied.
They quickly discovered that it was indeed Luann.
Girl A shouted, "Oh my god, it's really her!"
"I'm so excited. Should I tell everyone in the group?" Girl B asked.
"I want an autograph!" Girl A said.
Girl B urged, "Hurry up, Luann is leaving; let's catch up and see what she's up to!"
Luann soon stopped.
The calm and clean sunlight was shining on the sparkling river, and a row of people sat under the shade, fishing with their fishing rods. There were buckets placed beside them, and a few people were gathered around.
"How come it took you three hours to catch only two fish?"
"Don't you know, the fish here are all very cunning! Look at Percy; he hasn't caught a single one so far. The fish bait has all been eaten, and if you didn't know any better, you'd think he was feeding the fish!"
Luann walked up and looked down.
"Wow, who's this beautiful lady!"
The two girls who were not far behind Luann fumbled with their phones and shouted in the group.
[What should I do if I see Luann? I'm too scared to say hello]
