In the photos, Luann had a beautiful smile, her eyes shining brightly like stars.
In her arms was a lazy and noble-looking stuffed cat, with its tiny paws resting on her hand, stealing glances at the camera.
Those who saw it couldn't help but feel a warm sensation in their hearts.
Many of the viewers couldn't help but be stunned, and after a while, they pressed and held to save the photos.
[Does anyone have a master to help judge if she's wearing makeup or using beauty filters?]
[To be honest, there's no trace of makeup and no beauty filters at all.]
Luann, who had just come out of the bathroom, was drying her hair leisurely as Myron looked at the comments circulating online with an indifferent expression before setting his phone aside.
"It's getting late. We should rest soon," Myron said softly.
"Okay," Luann replied.
Sitting in front of the mirror, Luann calmly applied skincare products without letting the online controversy affect her mood. On the other hand, Holly rushed over to Luann once she learned about the situation.
Ding—
Wearing thick gloves, Luann took out the dessert from the oven. The sweet aroma instantly filled the air. She divided it between Myron and Holly.
Holly was getting increasingly anxious. "It's already this late, yet you're still thinking of eating here!" she exclaimed.
"Why aren't you worried at all about what's happening online?"
Luann smiled at Myron, the taste tester. "How does it taste?" she asked.
After taking a bite, Myron squinted his dark eyes and earnestly savored the flavor.
"It's good. The sweetness is just right, not overly cloying. It has a soft and crispy texture. It's excellent," he commented.
Luann smiled even more and sat down. Then, she said to Holly, "What's there to be anxious about? If we're in a rush, they won't stop talking nonsense, will they? The internet is filled with keyboard warriors and those who stir up trouble. Just ignore them."
Holly gritted her teeth and, seeing that Luann remained unfazed, turned to speak to Myron.
"Luann doesn't care, but as the legitimate wife, you can't just sit back and—"
"It's delicious, give me another one," Myron interrupted her.
Immediately, Luann handed another one to him and placed it near his lips. As he took a bite, the crispy outer layer fell into Luann's palm.
Watching their carefree demeanor, Holly felt that she had come at a very inappropriate time.
"Would you like to try one?" Luann asked her.
Holly's expression turned serious.
"Two worthless foodies, you guys!"
An egg tart was stuffed into her mouth.
Holly chewed and her eyes lit up.
"So delicious!
"Let me try something else!"
Luann placed various delicate desserts in front of her.
Holly stuffed them into her mouth one by one.
"So incredibly tasty!
"Oh my, Luann, your skills are amazing again!"
She completely failed to notice the darkening expression on Myron's face in front of her.
Luann not only fed her but also let Holly eat the desserts that were meant for him.
Not wanting to be outdone, he quickly started eating as well.
But compared to Holly, he was a bit weaker.
As Holly praised the food while eating, saliva sprayed everywhere.
They watched as only two or three desserts were left from a whole oven's worth.
Myron couldn't help but speak up, his expression grim "Luann made those for herself too, but you ate them all. Don't you think it's rude?"
Holly blinked in confusion.
"No, Luann has always made desserts for me like this before."
Myron's face grew even darker.
After finishing the remaining few, Holly patted her satisfied belly.
It seemed she had completely forgotten the original purpose of their visit.
"I'm so full."
"Since you're both indifferent to this matter, there must be a solution. I won't intervene anymore."
"I'm leaving, I'm leaving."
Luann nodded. "Okay."
However, the negativity beside her lingered long after.
Luann pretended not to notice.
She got up.
Her hand was grabbed.
Myron said softly, "I haven't eaten much."
Luann smiled lightly. "Just taste it."
"You're biased." Myron's voice instantly became low, his head drooping, and his tone carried a hint of grievance.
Luann was amused by him and reached out to touch his soft hair.
"Well, you made it for me, but Holly ate it all."
Luann nodded. "I didn't expect her to come at this time. If you like it, I'll make it again tomorrow."
Myron seemed unsatisfied with this answer. "But what if she comes to mooch food again tomorrow?"
Luann thought seriously for a moment.
"Well, how about we just have John keep her outside and not let her in?"
Myron looked up, a hint of joy on his face.
"Really?
"What if Holly reports you for being stingy when that happens?"
"Isn't it true?" Luann didn't answer directly, but her eyes were full of playful meaning.
The tiny bit of joy left in Myron was instantly shattered, turning into anger.
"Where am I stingy?
"I'm not stingy at all!"
He abruptly got up and seemed to be angry at Luann, walking quickly towards the exit.
Luann looked at his sullen appearance and found it amusing.
She caught up to him and grabbed Myron's hand.
He shook her off.
Luann pulled again.
"Are you here to please me?" Myron asked.
"No, just wanted to see how the flowers in the backyard are blooming. I planned to pick some and put them in a vase," Luann said, and then lightly passed by him, heading straight to the backyard.
Myron stood in place, his eyes filled with resentment, like a young wife abandoned by her husband.
The old lady came out of the house and, seeing his expression, asked curiously, "Myron, what are you looking at?"
Myron averted his gaze, his face icy.
"Nothing."
The old lady patted his shoulder, saying, "If there's anything on your mind, tell grandma. Grandma is an experienced person who can definitely help you find answers."
Myron's gaze flickered slightly. "How did you and Grandpa get along?"
