Chapter 453 Misunderstanding Deepened

The moment this thought hit him, Joshua felt totally thrown off. He couldn't help but think Hill didn't measure up to Myron.

'Hill's not a tall guy, just a bit over 5'7". He's not exactly built either, more on the slender side, and every time he dresses up, he looks like a kid, with maybe a hint of chest muscle. But even so, he just can't give women that sense of security they crave,' Joshua's mind was a mess, more confused and frustrated than anything else.

Watching them fade into the distance, Joshua couldn't stay put any longer and hurriedly followed them.

As Hill walked, she occasionally glanced back.

"What's up?" Luann asked, puzzled.

"Feels like someone's tailing us," Hill said, and as soon as she finished speaking, she spotted Joshua trying to hide, a smirk playing on her lips.

"Someone following us in broad daylight?" Luann was a bit surprised and was about to turn around, but Hill quickly grabbed her chin. "It's nothing; let's just speed up and lose him."

Trusting Hill completely, Luann nodded.

Hill had been a fighter since she was a kid, able to take on five boys at once. As she grew older, she started learning various self-defense techniques and was now quite skilled. So, Luann trusted her words.

"Just as I thought, not only is he touchy but also paranoid, constantly looking back while walking, afraid of being discovered." Joshua hid behind a wall, completely unaware that his stalking had already been exposed.

Soon, they arrived at a mall, and Luann and Hill entered a cosmetics store. Various lipsticks were displayed on the counter.

"I'll help you pick," Hill said, taking one out, expertly twisting it open, and applying it to Luann's lips.

Luann's lips were naturally rosy, making lipstick just an added touch. The store clerk smiled and said, "This color suits you very well."

Hill said, "She's beautiful; any color suits her."

As she spoke, she wiped off the lipstick from Luann's lips and started trying another one. For others, lipstick enhanced their look, but for Luann, it seemed like she was enhancing the lipstick.

"Hold on. I need to take a call." Luann took out her phone and walked a short distance away. "Hello, Holly."

Holly said excitedly, "I'm shopping at the mall next to your office. Want to have lunch together?"

Luann chuckled. "What a coincidence, Hill and I are here too."

"Which floor are you on? I'll come find you."

After giving her location, Luann returned to Hill's side to continue trying on lipsticks.

Hill said, "No need to try anymore, let's just buy all the shades here."

The store clerk's eyes lit up, and she became even more courteous, quickly calling others to help pack everything.

Before Holly even walked in, she spotted a sneaky figure peeking around. She walked over and slapped Joshua on the shoulder. "Hey, what are you peeking at?"

Joshua jumped in fright, turned around in a panic, and sighed in relief when he saw it was Holly. "Oh, it's you."

"It's you," they said in unison. Holly often came to have meals with Luann, so she naturally became familiar with Joshua over time.

"Who are you peeking at?" Holly followed his gaze. "Could it be Luann..."

Joshua quickly covered her mouth and dragged her aside. Behind a large pillar, there was plenty of room for the two of them to hide.

Joshua whispered, "Did you notice? They're buying lipstick together!"

Holly was momentarily stunned. The next second, she realized that Joshua probably didn't know Hill was a girl.

According to Luann, Hill seemed to be pursuing Joshua but hadn't revealed her true gender, leading to his ongoing misunderstanding.

Holly awkwardly said, "Yeah."

Joshua sighed with complex emotions. "I never expected them to be this close already. You should've seen Hill's skillful way of twisting the lipstick and applying it to Luann's lips. Doesn't that mean..."

Cold sweat broke out on Holly's forehead. She thought, 'Could it be that Hill's secret is about to be exposed?'

But unexpectedly, Joshua punched the pillar in frustration. "That means Hill is a playboy who often deceives young girls!"

Holly was dumbfounded. She quickly agreed. "You're absolutely right! You're so smart to figure that out!"

Joshua felt something off in Holly's tone. "Why do I feel like you're brushing me off?"

"Absolutely not." Holly sighed in relief and discreetly wiped her sweat. "I never thought Hill would be that kind of person."

"Yeah," Joshua said seriously, "Luann is smart but naive, easily deceived. Girls like her can't resist those smooth-talking guys. Luann must've been tricked by his sweet words."

Holly's mouth twitched slightly. "Yeah."

The more Joshua spoke, the more agitated he became. "I just don't get it. Luann doesn't like so many excellent men but chooses to be with a poor guy like Hill. Does she see me as invisible? No matter how I look at it, I'm better than that scrawny guy Hill."

The information in that sentence was a bit much, and Holly was momentarily stunned, thinking, 'Why does Joshua instinctively compare Hill to himself? Could it be that he likes Luann?'

"Look at Hill, so skinny." Joshua lowered his voice angrily.

Holly silently compared her height with Joshua's and envied Hill's height.

"I can't just watch Luann get deceived," Joshua said, pulling out his phone.

Holly immediately stopped him. "Wait! What are you doing?"

Joshua said word by word, "I'm calling Myron. He needs to know about this."

Holly panicked. "No! We need to plan this carefully."

Joshua firmly said, "There's nothing to plan. Myron needs to teach Hill a lesson."
