Chapter 42 Deliberate Approach

Wilber's face turned pale, and he couldn't find any words to refute Luann's sharp remarks.

Holly timely spoke up, with an apologetic expression on her face, naturally diffusing the awkwardness of the moment.

"I'm sorry, you both seem to have misunderstood."

"Just now, I accidentally stepped on you... are you Juliet, Luann's sister?"

"I'm truly sorry, your shoes must be dirty, let me wipe them for you."

As Holly bent down, Juliet took a step back and fell into Wilber's arms, displaying a generous attitude.

"Never mind, it wasn't intentional anyway."

Holly smiled comfortingly.

Her big twinkling eyes were even brighter than the stars in the sky.

They were filled with the innocence and naivety of a young girl, easily sparking others' protective instincts.

"Thank you for forgiving me!"

Luann glanced at Holly with a sideways look and faintly noticed the hidden shrewdness on her face.

After years of friendship, she was well aware of Holly's scheming thoughts.

Wilber couldn't help but glance at Holly a few times.

She naturally looked sweet, especially with her petite height.

Standing there, she appeared cute and adorable.

Compared to Holly's naturally advantageous packaging, Juliet's later-stage makeover seemed a bit inferior.

"Wilber, let's go."

Juliet tugged at Wilber's clothes and took a step forward.

But in the next second, she frowned lightly, and her small mouth let out an alluring low whisper, sparking countless thoughts.

"Wilber, it hurts so much..."

Wilber immediately worriedly looked at her feet and squatted down in front of her, gently speaking.

"Climb up."

As Juliet climbed onto his back, she provocatively raised her chin at Luann before snuggling up happily.

After they left, Holly put away all her expressions on her face and spat out fiercely.

"Pah!"

"Scum!"

Luann led her towards their seats.

"Stay away from him."

Stay away?

No, no.

Luann suffered so much injustice from Wilber.

As Luann's best friend, how could she let things slide so easily?

Wouldn't that be too good for that couple?

"Don't worry, okay!" Holly glanced at the seat number, a little anxious. "Luann, you should go to the backstage to talk to your teacher first. I'll just find yourself a seat."

"Well, if you can't find one, give me a call."

Holly's nimble figure caught up with Juliet and Wilber.

As she watched the two of them sit in the fifth row, Holly stood waiting on the side, observing her surroundings and searching for suitable targets.

Finally, a handsome man passed by her and headed straight for the fifth row.

Holly quickly grabbed his arm and asked, "Excuse me, sir, where are you sitting?"

"The fifth row."

"Let's switch seats! I'll sit in the fifth row!" Holly exclaimed excitedly, waving her ticket at him.
He raised an eyebrow and glanced casually.

"Miss, the view in the third row is better than the fifth row."

"I... I'm nearsighted! I can't see when I'm too close!"

Holly snatched his ticket and handed her own to him. She hurriedly ran towards Wilber.

The man watched her bouncing figure and smirked.

"Interesting..."

Holly sat down next to Wilber and greeted him.

"Hi, what a coincidence! It seems like our seat numbers are adjacent."

Wilber's face briefly showed a fleeting surprise, which he hid well.

"Yes, quite a coincidence."

Holly looked around at the stage and sighed while resting her chin on her hand. "It's my first time in such a big place. You guys seem to come here often, right?"

Wilber lifted his chin slightly, displaying a hint of arrogance and pretentiousness.

"I come occasionally, mostly to listen to this kind of music. It can cleanse the soul and relax the mind."

Holly lowered her head upon hearing this and forced back a smile that was about to burst, her body trembling slightly from holding it in.

This guy sure knows how to brag!

"Oh really, I also like Vincenzo 's works. Which piece of his do you like the most?"

With just one question, Holly caught Wilber off guard.

If it weren't for Juliet, he wouldn't have wasted his time and emotions coming to a place like this.

"Uh...," a thin layer of sweat formed in the palm of Wilber's hands. He touched his nose and his gaze wandered.

Holly smiled, revealing two small dimples and crescent-shaped eyes sweeter than candy.

"Is it 'Whispers of Summer'? I love that one too!"

Wilber seized this lifeline and immediately jumped on board.

"Yes, yes, exactly the same."

As Juliet listened to their conversation, she couldn't help but pull Wilber a few times.

But to her surprise, he remained indifferent, not even looking at her.

Juliet gritted her teeth, her voice sounding sweet and delicate as she pretended to be weak.

"Wilber, why are you always chatting with this lady alone?"

"Well, she's also interested in piano and I wanted to discuss it with her."

"How about we switch seats then?"

Wilber cleared his throat lightly and pointed to the stage.

"Don't you say your seat has the best view in the whole row? And it's right next to the stage."

"Okay? The seat I'm sitting in is a bit crooked now."

"Besides, aren't your feet uncomfortable? Don't bother moving around."

Juliet stared at him unwillingly.

"Wilber, but I..."

Holly stood up and smiled sweetly.

"Sorry, I need to go to the restroom."

After spending some time in the restroom, when she came out, she indeed saw Wilber standing there with a gentle smile, handing her a tissue.

"Thank you."

"I used to hear Luann talk about you all the time. Meeting you today, you really are as she described, a charming man."

Wilber's face stiffened slightly, "What... What did she tell you?"

Holly sensed his unease and casually replied, "Nothing much, I've been abroad for a while, so we haven't been in touch much. I heard she got married, that's why I rushed back."

Wilber secretly breathed a sigh of relief, "I see."

"Well, don't keep talking to me here, it seems like your girlfriend isn't very happy."

"After all, you are a married man, I should keep my distance."

Holly's words carried a hint of curiosity and teasing.

As she walked past him, she deliberately bumped into him with her shoulder.

This bump made Wilber's heart tremble.

The calmness he had cultivated for over a year seemed to be stirred up by this petite woman in front of him.
