Chapter 107 Design Director
The elevator ascended slowly.
It made a faint noise.
The tense atmosphere was like a spark that could ignite a prairie fire, rising steadily.
Luann lowered her eyes and glanced at the badge on the man's chest.
She sneered in disdain.
"You don't have the authority to decide whether I stay or go."
"The design director position, is it?"
"I want that position."
Ding!
The elevator reached the twenty-fourth floor.
The man squinted his eyes and said fiercely, "Where did this arrogant woman come from?"
He forcefully pressed the close button, no longer wanting to look at Luann for another second.
Knock, knock.
"Come in."
Luann pushed the door open and entered.
Diana and Watson were sitting on the sofa, with a contract placed in front of them, seemingly discussing important matters.
Upon seeing her, Watson immediately waved at her.
"Please, have a seat."
After speaking, he picked up the office phone and connected to the secretary outside.
"Bring a cup of coffee in."
The secretary was a young and beautiful woman with a graceful figure. Although dressed professionally, she couldn't hide her charm.
But even so, in front of Luann, she inevitably paled in comparison.
The secretary placed the coffee in front of Luann and casually glanced at her.
She seemed slightly surprised.
Isn't this Luann, the pianist who recently became popular on the internet?
Why did she end up at the Curtis Group?
The secretary was about to leave when Diana spoke softly, "Could you bring me a cup as well, please?"
"Alright."
Watson glanced at Diana, furrowing his brows slightly, seemingly displeased.
Luann silently observed their every move and took a sip of her coffee.
"Luann, from now on, you'll be working in the company."
"I'll introduce you to the company's operations first."
"Give me an overview."
Luann responded with a faint "Mm-hmm."
Watson sat up straight, crossed his hands over his lower abdomen, and explained to her.
"The Curtis Group headquarters is the lifeline of the entire Curtis Family, overseeing important projects in various subsidiary companies."
"One could say that everyone who enters the company is an elite in their respective industries."
the Curtis family is involved in a wide range of industries, from various design fields to real estate properties, and even sponsors entertainment events.
Too many to count.
In the span of hundreds of years of development, the Curtis Group has long become the backbone of the Upper West Side.
"When you took the elevator, you probably noticed that our company has a total of twenty-six floors."
"Except for the floors where the high-ranking executives are located, the remaining twenty floors are each dedicated to specific departments and their respective professionals."
"The second floor is for architecture, the third floor is for commercial properties, the fourth floor is for jewelry, the fifth floor is for wedding gowns, the sixth floor is for furniture and furnishings..."
"What we need to do is collaborate with the subsidiary companies on important projects."
Watson tried his best to use the simplest and most straightforward language to introduce Luann.
He had inquired and found out that Luann had spent two years as a mediocre employee at Wilber Company.
Clearly, she didn't know much.
But that's understandable.
One person's energy is limited.
Luann's exceptional talent in playing the piano already made her a prodigy.
As for work, he had no hope for her at all.
In any case, getting an extra paycheck was just a formality for her.
Luann nodded.
The operating model of the Curtis Group was not much different from that of the family behind her.
It was similar.
"I understand that it might be hard for someone inexperienced like you to accept this for a while."
"If you were to start directly at the headquarters, the psychological pressure might be a bit overwhelming for you."
"In comparison, working at a subsidiary company would be much easier, only needing to focus on a single industry."
"Luann, is there anything that interests you?"
"Girls usually like jewelry and wedding gowns, right?"
The Curtis Group had countless subsidiary companies, big and small.
If Luann liked any particular industry, he could place her there as a boss in a small company, which would be quite simple.
"I've never seen such a big company before, and I really want to give it a try here." Luann politely declined Watson.
Watson's expression stiffened slightly.
What does she mean?
He had made it so clear, yet Luann still wanted to stay at the headquarters and suffer?
There was no place for her to slack off here!
Watson cleared his throat, shifted his body slightly, and casually nudged Diana's knee, seemingly hoping that she would help him say a few words.
Diana completely ignored him.
Watson felt a bit embarrassed.
"Luann, uh..."
Suddenly, the office phone rang.
Watson answered the call.
"Vice President Curtis, the young masters are here?"
Watson's hand trembled slightly, and his eyelid twitched.
Why did these two troublesome ones come together?
…
First-floor elevator entrance.
Myron looked down, reading the latest message on his phone.
Alvin stood beside him, constantly glancing at his screen.
The elevator arrived.
The doors opened.
A pair of shiny leather shoes came into Myron's view.
"It seems I didn't check the calendar before leaving today, otherwise I wouldn't have encountered these annoying pests twice in a row."
The man held a stack of documents in his arms, his chin raised slightly, meeting Myron's icy gaze.
"What are you looking at?"
"Ugly freak."
"Are you qualified to take this elevator?"
A sense of hostility emanated from Myron's face, causing the temperature to drop like winter ice.
Alvin immediately stood between the two, blocking the intense confrontation.
"Guys, calm down..."
"We rarely get a chance to meet as brothers, don't argue as soon as we encounter each other..."
The man in front casually sneered, tilting his head and leaning against the elevator door, showing no intention of backing down.
"Am I not speaking the truth?"
"Just look at his face, so ugly."
"He has no self-awareness and keeps showing up, bothering everyone."
Alvin swallowed nervously.
The cold aura behind him grew even stronger.
Myron's thin lips parted, filled with a murderous intent.
"Do you find me annoying?"
"What if I gouge your eyes out?"
"Will I not be annoying anymore?"
The man's narrowed eyes flashed with anger.
"What future can someone who only resorts to violence have?"
Myron coldly snorted, "With your strength, you'll only lose faster."
Alvin weakly reminded, "Brother, don't forget, before the fire, big brother was the only one who had the potential to become the successor of the Curtis family."
During that time, Grandfather had high hopes for Myron and made him the acting president of the company.
Just one step away.
The man's face was full of disdain.
"You said it yourself, that was a possibility."
"Moreover, that was years ago, why bring it up now? It's really shameless."
Myron took a step forward.
The man remained unmoved.
Myron's gaze turned chilling.
"A dog that blocks the door is not a good dog."
Alvin pleaded, "Brother, we really have urgent matters, let us go up."
"This is the president's exclusive elevator. You're not the president, why should I let you in?"
