Chapter 82 Three Days in the Hospital

Soon after they had made it halfway through the journey, Eddy received an urgent call from the company, needing to handle a project he had to leave immediately.

At the hospital, Myron settled Luann in a chair and went to handle the paperwork.

Her phone rang at this moment.

Luann answered.

Excited yelling came from the other end, "Darling! We successfully won the bidding!"

Luann's face darkened slightly.

Adolph hadn’t realized the seriousness of the situation yet.

"Surprised?"

“Expected or unexpected?”

Luann coldly asked, "I called you a little over an hour ago, why didn't you pick up?"

"I didn't see it. I was on my way to the bidding at the time, and my phone was set to silent."

"After the bidding ended, didn't I call you back immediately?"

"Darling, tell me, how was it between the two of you last night?"

Luann ground her teeth in anger.

"So, that's the reason you didn't come to find me all night?"

"Nonsense, is your second brother that kind of person?"

Through the phone, Luann could almost see the smirk on his face.

Adolph got into the car happily, crossing his legs.

Content and at ease.

"At four in the morning when it was still dark, your second brother was looking for you all over the streets."

"He found me and made me so hungry. Luckily, I saw a roadside stall and bought several pancakes to eat."

"Those pancakes were so delicious!"

"I couldn't control myself and ate too much."

"You know, when I'm full, I get drowsy."

"I thought you had run away with some wild man, engaging in intense activities all night. No wonder you couldn't get up in the morning."

"We both had to participate in the bidding, so I went home and had a nap."

"It turns out my speculation was accurate."

Luann tightened her fingers, grinding her teeth.

"Adolph!"

Adolph quickly consoled her, "Don't be angry, don't be angry. It doesn't matter if you came on this trip or not because the president of that company didn't even show up."

Luann's mood suddenly dropped, her gaze turned chilling.

"Why didn't he come?"

"Weren't they eager to win this bid?"

Adolph sighed.

"Who knows."

"Well, it's fine. We won the bid effortlessly this time."

Luann cut the phone call feeling gloomy.

Myron approached from a distance.

"The forms are ready. Let's go get the X-ray of your ankle taken."

"Okay."

The results came out quickly, and it wasn't too serious, just a sprain.

"Avoid strenuous activities for the next two weeks, don't use your right leg, and prevent further injury."

"You should stay in the hospital for the next three days for observation purposes."

Luann fell silent for a moment.

"Can I not stay?"

"Can't I just get medication?"

Since the bidding was already over, she planned to return to her home country.

Moreover, it was her least favorite place.

The hospital.

From childhood to adulthood, whenever she fell ill, her eldest and second brother would call a family doctor.

Myron's tone was firm and his voice low.

"No, with such a serious injury, you need to rest here with peace of mind."

"Don't think about running around."

After completing the procedures, he escorted Luann to a private hospital room.

Looking at the furnishings in the room, Luann closed her eyes tightly, calming herself.

Myron helped Luann onto the bed and casually drew the curtains by the window open.

"I'll take care of you for the next few days."

"There really is no need to." Luann decisively refused without even thinking, "Don't you have things to take care of here in the U.S.? I can manage here by myself. "

"Luann, please stop thinking that you'll be bothering me. We are husband and wife," Myron's gaze locked deeply onto her.

Luann's eyes wandered.

Observing Luann's expression, Myron...

He knew what she was thinking.

So he added another sentence.

"If Grandma finds out that you got hurt and I wasn't by your side, she'll definitely nag me endlessly."

Luann lay in bed and pulled the covers up to her neck hard.

“Whatever.”

Myron's phone rang.

He glanced at the caller ID, walked out of the ward quietly, closed the door behind him, and headed towards the safe passage.

"Hello."

“Myron, the company just called. I went back to the office to handle it.”

"I also stopped by the auction, but it had already ended."

Myron responded with a flat “Hmm,” his tone devoid of fluctuations.

Eddy sighed deeply.

"It's all my fault."

If he hadn't foolishly locked Luann in the room, she wouldn't have jumped out of the window and sprained her foot.

Then none of the following would have happened.

“I’ll take Luann back to the country in a few days,” Myron said coldly.

Eddy grabbed his hair forcefully, feeling a mix of surprise and joy.
“You’re not mad at me anymore?”

Myron's eyes darkened, with a flicker of coldness.

"Coincidentally, there's a project I need to work on urgently. Following up would take about a month. You just stay here and handle things."

Eddy let out a mournful cry.

“No!”

"Myron, let's discuss this..."

The only response he received was the sound of the call being hung up.

Myron leaned against the wall and pulled a cigarette out from his pocket.

With a snap, it lit up.

The smoke curled up.

Inhaling and exhaling clouds.

Covering up the faint irritability in his eyes.
...
Luann was not comfortable in the hospital room.
Her mind was filled with restlessness, constantly locking and unlocking her phone, repeating the same action.

It wasn’t until Adolph’s call came through that he interrupted her strange behavior.
"You little brat, had enough fun yet? When are you coming back?"

“How long are you going to stick around that wild man?”

Luann remained indifferent.

“I’m currently in the hospital and can’t come back for the time being.”

Adolph sat up from his comfortable position, pushed his glasses up, his eyes showing a hint of surprise and a trace of worry.

“Oh, is that so?”

"It seems like that man is quite energetic to have sent you to the hospital?"

Luann gritted her teeth.

“I really want to use a hose pipe to flush out all the obscene rubbish in your head!”

Adolph's lips lifted slightly, and he let out a chuckle.

“What’s really going on?”

"I sprained my foot."

“I’ve reminded you so many times, be careful in your everyday life. Even if you see a handsome guy, you shouldn’t get so excited.”

"Get lost!" Luann's angry voice echoed loudly.

Myron, who was standing outside the hospital room, paused for a moment and reached out to push the door.

Adolph comforted the agitated little cat.

“Then you pick a time, I’ll come over and replace your phone for you.”

Luann furrowed her brows tightly. "Don't bother coming."

“Why not?”

“My husband is with me.”

Upon hearing that there was a man by her side, and moreover, her legal husband.
Adolph's tensed shoulders relaxed, with a glimmer in his eyes.

All worries disappeared.

He slumped back into the sofa and lazily said, “So what? I’m your big brother.”

Luann replied straightforwardly, "In summary, you shouldn't come over."

“I don’t want him to see you, and I don’t want him to know about the relationship between the two of us.”

Regarding her identity in America, Luann naturally wanted to keep it hidden.

Moreover.

When she married Myron, she was expressing her intention as the head of her own family.

Now that she hadn't discovered anything, it would be such a loss if something were accidentally revealed to Myron.

“Alright, alright, if you need anything, remember to call your brother.”

“Okay, I have to go now. ”

Luann stuffed her phone under the pillow.

Outside the door, Myron’s hand hung in the air.

Stiff for quite a while.

...
