Chapter 383 Gained Three Pounds
By the beach on Heart Island, Luann was chilling, sipping on a fresh coconut, her huge sunglasses covering half her face.
She rocked a stylish white and blue swimsuit, showing off her long, straight legs.
Water splashed, and out came a perfect figure. Droplets slid down his chiseled muscles.
Luann couldn't help but stare.
Myron shook the water from his head and strolled ashore, leaving footprints in the hot sand. "Not going in?"
Luann cleared her throat. She wasn't a great swimmer and found the ocean kinda scary.
"It's too sunny. I'll get tanned," she fibbed.
Like a magician, Myron pulled out sunscreen. "I brought this for you."
Luann's smile wavered.
"Want me to help you put it on?" Myron asked gently.
Luann sighed and turned over. "Go ahead."
Myron chuckled, his laugh deep and pleasant. He poured sunscreen into his palm and spread it on Luann's fair skin.
"Isn't it a waste to go in the water now?" Luann asked.
"No worries; I brought plenty."
Luann was speechless. After applying the sunscreen, she got up. Myron helped her with a mask and snorkel. "We'll snorkel in the shallow area. The water's not deep, so no wetsuits needed."
The sea was clear, and she could see tropical fish and corals even without dipping her head in.
Myron wanted Luann to try snorkeling but didn't push too hard.
"Okay," Luann said, clinging to Myron's arm.
It was afternoon, and the sun wasn't as harsh.
"Give it a try. Don't be afraid; I'm right here." Myron's voice was soothing. He guided her, helping her squat down.
After many reassurances, Luann took the plunge. It wasn't as hard as she thought.
The mask kept the water out, and the snorkel ensured she could breathe. Luann quickly started having fun, like a kid.
Myron chuckled beside her, never leaving her side. When she got tired and came ashore, he dove into the deep sea.
Luann took out her phone, recording videos and snapping pictures of Myron. She picked the best ones for her wallpaper and screensaver.
They stayed for nearly half a month, making up for their missed honeymoon.
When Holly and Eddy came to pick them up, they were surprised. "Oh my God, Luann, you seem to have gained weight!"
"Really?" Luann was surprised. She usually didn't gain weight easily and didn't watch her diet much.
Eddy looked at Luann and nodded. "Yeah, it seems so."
Myron grinned. "She did gain a bit, probably three pounds."
Eddy laughed awkwardly. "Aren't you overdoing it a bit?"
Holly chimed in, "Yeah, do you think your eyes are a scale?"
Back home, Luann stepped on the scale and saw she had indeed gained exactly three pounds.
Holly and Eddy fell silent.
"Anything happen while we were gone?" Luann asked, concerned.
Holly replied, "Are you asking about Grace? Haven't heard from her in a while. Eddy said she's been sidelined, hasn't returned to the Curtis Family, and is recovering in the hospital, seeing no one."
She paused. "As for Wilber and Juliet, their relationship seems good. I saw them at a baby store once."
Myron and Eddy were off in their own conversation.
Holly coughed. "Luann, do you think Juliet might be pregnant?"
"She is," Luann said calmly.
"What? Wilber's lucky. Even though Grace messed him up, he still has a kid!" Holly exclaimed.
"You're overthinking it. Juliet had an abortion," Luann said flatly. "And she's been with many men, so who knows if it was Wilber's."
Holly's eyes widened. "How do you know?"
Luann pulled out a taped-together document from under the coffee table and handed it to her.
Holly's voice rose. "An abortion? Juliet had an abortion?"
Luann nodded, leaning back on the sofa. "But Wilber doesn't know."
Holly was excited. "They're a perfect match! Juliet destroyed Wilber's only hope. If he finds out, he won't let her off! I can't wait to see their relationship fall apart!"
Luann put the document away. "Don't stir up trouble. Let them handle it."
Holly gave her an 'I understand' look. "I won't get involved."
Two people with bad intentions were bound to scheme against each other, with no good outcome.
In the evening, Luann visited the Weaver family. As she guessed, only Brianna was there.
Brianna looked a bit haggard. Seeing Luann, she was surprised. "Luann?"
Luann walked over, carrying Brianna's favorite snacks, and placed them on the table.
"I went back to my mom's for a while, just got back recently, and saw Myron's proposal," Brianna said softly, holding her hand and sitting down. "Back then, I thought marrying you to Myron was a bit of a grievance. Now it seems, Myron treats you well."
Luann smiled. "How about Mike? Does he treat you well?"
Brianna was stunned for a moment, then smiled faintly. "After all these years, it doesn't really matter. Talking about whether it's good or not now is meaningless. I just hope to be by his side in his last days."
Luann's eyebrows raised slightly. "Did you know about his illness?"
