Chapter 132 Kneeling in the Rain

Seeing this, Old Master seized the opportunity.

"Since you all think that Luann is more qualified to be the Design Director, then I announce..."

Luann lifted her gaze, softly calling out, "Chairman."

Old Master immediately turned his head, his eyes filled with a gentle affection.

If it was due to Myron the first time he met Luann that he was kind to her,

Then at this moment, he was truly impressed by Luann's designs.

Such talent, at such a young age, was enough to make him highly regard her.

"What's the matter?"

Luann looked at Joshua, who seemed completely down-hearted and lifeless, and kindly reminded him,

"We agreed on two trials, just two trials."

"I don't want to take advantage of him."

Old Master was taken aback.

He didn't expect Luann to be so spirited.

"Alright, then we'll proceed with the second trial tomorrow!"

"Okay, everyone, disperse."

Old Master urged the employees.

They left in groups of two or three.

As they went downstairs, an eerie silence filled the air.

Once they returned to their respective positions, many who hadn't intervened in the matter couldn't wait to inquire.

"How did it go? Did our director win? Was Luann punished?"

Ding dong...

Everyone's phones simultaneously rang twice.

They picked them up in unison, only to find that two videos had been uploaded to the company group.

One was the entire process of Luann's two-hour design.

The other was the entire process of Joshua creating the group and giving out red packets to campaign for votes.

After watching them, the crowd whispered to themselves.

"So, we misunderstood Luann?"

...

Dark clouds obscured the evening's crimson glow, enveloping the entire sky in a menacing and oppressive darkness, as if it would come crashing down.

The howling wind fierce and piercing, howled through the air. The strong wind brought with it a torrential downpour, suddenly attacking.

Crackling sounds echoed as raindrops fell on the window, creating a crisp sound.

Myron, with one hand around Luann and the other opening the car door,

Luann sluggishly got in and sat down, a soft pillow tucked around her waist.

"What do you want to eat tonight?"

Myron seemed to be in a good mood, glancing at Luann.

The light from above fell upon them, outlining the soft curves of her cheeks.

Luann smiled softly, "Let's eat at the old mansion."

"That was exactly what I had in mind."

After Myron finished speaking, he slowly started the car.

The car stopped at the entrance of the old mansion, and Myron stepped out with an umbrella, protecting Luann from getting even a drop of rain on her.

The two of them leisurely walked on the stone platform, when they saw a person kneeling in front of the villa's door.

As they got closer, they realized that this person was completely drenched, shivering incessantly.

It was Joshua.

His face was washed by the rain to the point where he could barely open his eyes, his back straight and full of resistance.

Old Master stood at the entrance with his cane, his face dark and gloomy.

As long as Joshua relaxed his guard, he would raise his cane and whip it at him.

"Kneel properly!"

"Don't move!"

The sound of rain...
There were two pairs of footsteps in the silence.
Luann and Myron stopped beside him.
"Grandpa."
He's expression softened a little, "Come in and sit, it's windy outside."
"The kitchen is preparing food, just let us know what you want to eat."
Myron nodded, folded his umbrella and handed it to Luann, then followed He into the house.
He's voice came with the wind, "Luann, if he doesn't kneel properly, you can hit him!"
Only then did Luann understand why Myron gave her the umbrella.
Joshua narrowed his eyes, raised his head, and stared fiercely at him with bloodshot eyes and a ferocious expression.
"Are you satisfied now?"
Luann innocently blinked her beautiful eyes, her long eyelashes trembling slightly with some confusion.
She bent slightly, her hand resting on her thigh.
"What do you mean I'm satisfied with?"
"Haven't you been causing trouble all this time?"
Joshua's teeth chattered, his voice trembling.
"Hehe, Luann, I won't let you succeed. It's absolutely impossible for you to take away my position!"
"You pretend to be magnanimous and fair in front of everyone, wanting to compete with me for the second round."
"I will make you pay for your arrogance!"
Luann made a casual sound.
All of Joshua's threats felt as if they were hitting cotton, without any force.
This feeling made him very annoyed.
"Get out of my way!"
Luann stood in front of him.
"I'm happy to stand here. Do you have a problem with that?"
"Luann!"
"I'm here."
Joshua gritted his teeth but couldn't do anything to her.
It wasn't until a servant came to call her for dinner that she walked to the dining room.
Taking the opportunity, she asked.
"What should we do with Joshua?"
He said without any hesitation, "Let him starve! He can kneel here all night for me!"
After eating and drinking her fill, Luann was pulled by He for a chat.
Soon, night fell, and the rain outside also became lighter.
He got up and went upstairs to rest.
Luann went outside the door.
She found Joshua kneeling there, trembling uncontrollably.
Hearing the movement, he trembled and raised his head, his tone as ferocious as ever, but devoid of strength.
"You...damn woman, you've come again...to see me in this state..."
Luann took out a steaming hot meat bun.
Joshua tugged at the corner of his mouth and sneered disdainfully.
"Trying to...please me?"
"Luann, let me tell you, even if I starve to death, I won't eat what you bring me..."
Luann took a bite of the bun and closed her eyes in bliss.
"Mmm, it's so delicious."
Joshua: "..."
"Don't think too much, this is the last bun. I thought you didn't have dinner, so I'll let you smell its aroma." Luann took another bite.
Joshua angrily growled, "You're truly wicked, woman!"
Luann smiled faintly.
"Thanks for the compliment."
Joshua couldn't help but sniffle.
The fragrance seemed to fill the air uncontrollably, swirling around. It made his hungry stomach growl desperately.

After waiting so long for Luann to finish eating, he thought the torment would finally end. However, Luann waved her hand signaling for the servant to bring over a small stool and reclining chair, along with plenty of snacks, cakes, and desserts.

"Luann, you!" Joshua clutched his chest, infuriated and in pain.

Luann reclined on the chair. From this angle, she could see the slightly translucent sky, washed clean by the rain, and faintly discern a few stars.

As she continued to watch, drowsiness overcame her, and she fell into a deep sleep.

Joshua stared at her with resentful eyes.

Soon, Myron walked out of the living room, wrapped Luann in a fluffy blanket, and carried her horizontally.

Joshua chuckled sinisterly, his voice tinged with eeriness, "Just you wait, I will make her pay back twice the humiliation she gave me tomorrow!"

Myron didn't even turn his head.

"You won't have the chance."

He lowered his head, looking at the peacefully sleeping woman in his arms.

"I believe in her."

"She will definitely win."
