Chapter 150 A Battle of Livestreams

In a room.

A fragrant scent permeated the room as the melodious and delicate voice of a woman rang in the air.

Juliet Weaver sat poised at her computer desk. She was dressed in a provocative lace dress, which looked like it would expose more than she intended with just a slight movement.

At this time, an exaggerated grateful expression could be seen on her face, which she had meticulously applied makeup. She said in a sickeningly sweet voice, “Big thanks to Matthew for always supporting me! Love you~”

Matthew was one of Juliet’s biggest fans, and most importantly, he was very generous.

“Juliet! Luann Weaver is livestreaming as well!”

“That’s right. I just went to have a look. She might have more viewers, but no one sent her gifts. LOL!”

“Juliet, you’re definitely going to top the leaderboard today!”

Juliet was slightly shocked when she read the comments. When the shock finally subsided, she only felt a hint of disdain. She scoffed as thought about how her sister, Luann, must have live-streamed now to spite her. She wondered inwardly, ‘Does she really think she can compete with me?’ s

Juliet’s fans were fiercely loyal. They flocked to her livestream and lavished her with a steady stream of gifts. As such, she was very confident about her victory.

At this moment, the corners of Juliet’s lips curved up into a seductive smile. She feigned innocence as she said to her fans, “No matter what, Luann is my sister. Let’s not be mean, okay? I don’t want this to affect our relationship.”

“Juliet, you're too kind!”

“But, Luann doesn’t even treat you like a sister!”

Juliet sighed in relief inwardly when she read the comments. Then, she smiled and said, “Alright, alright, seeing as all of you support me so much, why don’t I sing a song? Feel free to request any song. Just send me a virtual sports car, and I’ll grant you your request!”

The comments stopped for a moment at the mention of a virtual sports car. After all, the cost of a virtual sports car was a thousand dollars. Many of them did not mind spending a hundred dollars or so but spending a thousand dollars felt too wasteful.

However, in the next moment, Matthew appeared again, sending ten virtual sports cars. Then, he left a comment that read: Sing whatever you like.

Julie said, delighted, “Matthew, you’re always so generous.”

Following that, she rose to her feet gracefully before she continued to say, “Let me prepare for a moment. I’ll be right back to sing a song for you.”

After stepping out of sight, Juliet hurriedly brought her phone out. She logged into an anonymous account and quickly entered Luann’s livestream. Upon seeing how lively it was in Luann’s comment section, flames of jealousy began to burn in her heart. She could not help but leave a few snide comments.

“Ha, is this the best you got?”

“Cooking? Seriously?”

At the same time, fans of Luann switched back and forth between Juliet’s and Luann’s channels. The usual calmness was nowhere to be seen, and tension ran high.

Juliet put her phone aside before she returned and sat in front of the camera. Then, she began to sing as she swayed with slow and assured movements.

At this moment, the comment section was incredibly chaotic.

"Is this it? I guess all of you have forgotten about Luann’s perfect performance!"

"The audacity of Luann Weaver’s fans! Get lost! You’re not welcome here!”

The duo’s fans quarreled fiercely, but Juliet continued on unperturbed as though she was unaware of the turmoil.

When she finally finished singing, she pretended to read the comments before she feigned an expression of pure surprise. Then, she said in a soothing tone, “Everyone, please calm down. We should all be kind. There’s no need to be so unpleasant.”

Subsequently, a comment popped up.

“You’re just riding the coattails of someone’s popularity!”

Tears welled up in Juliet’s eyes immediately as soon as she read the comment. It was as though she was genuinely hurt by the other party’s words.

“That’s not what I meant! You misunderstood me.”

"Ewww, you’re acting is so cringe!"

"Why do you have to be so cruel? You already made Juliet cry! What else do you want?"

Juliet said tearily, “Forget it. Let’s just focus on my singing. Let’s do what we always do and find someone for a battle, okay?”

A battle in this regard meant challenging another live streamer. If the other party accepted the challenge, fans of both parties would be brought together. There would be a split-screen for a fifteen-minute showdown between the two parties. The duo would showcase their talents, and the winner would be determined by the number of gifts. The loser would have to accept a punishment dictated by the winner.

Juliet did not hesitate and quickly issued a challenge to Luann’s channel. In the next second, a familiar frame appeared next to her.

Meanwhile, Myron, who was filming Luann, was bewildered. He immediately sensed something was amiss when he saw the flashing notification. However, before he could figure it out, his finger had accidentally clicked on the notification and accepted what seemed to be an invitation.

Juliet reacted quickly and greeted cheerfully, “Sister, what a coincidence!”

Luann, who was in the midst of cooking, paused when she heard the familiar voice. She could not hide the surprise on her face as she approached to have a look.

"Juliet?"

Juliet nodded with a twinkle of mischief in her eyes. She asked, “What a coincidence. I didn’t expect us to be livestreaming at the same time. Moreover, today is my main livestreaming day.”

The implication was clear. It was obvious that Juliet was suggesting that Luann had intentionally started a livestream at this time to steal her spotlight.

"Oh, is that so?" Luann replied indifferently.

With a coy smile on her face, Juliet asked, "So who’s going first? You or me?"

“Up to you. I really don’t care,” Luann replied. Her attention was all on the stew simmering in the pot."

Juliet pretended to hesitate as she asked, “But won’t that be unfair to you?"

Luann looked at Juliet frostily and asked, “What do you mean by unfair?”

Juliet pouted and propped her chin on her hands, trying to act cute. Then she said, pretending to look concerned, “The winner will be determined by the number of gifts, you see. If you don’t showcase your talents, why would anyone shower you with gifts?”

Juliet had briefly looked at Luann’s gifts earlier, and there were not many. Based on this, she concluded that Luann’s viewers were not very impressed with Luann’s livestream.

Luann said with a fake smile on her face, “The winner will be determined by the number of gifts. We better not compete. I hate to see you suffer from a crushing defeat.”

Meanwhile, Luann’s fans were already itching to make a move. Their fingers were hovering over the ‘donate’ button.

Juliet stroked her chin, looking pensive. Then, she said in agreement, “You’re right. After all, considering Myron Curtis throws money around like confetti at the race track, dropping a few million without batting an eyelid; it would indeed be unfair. After all, he could use an anonymous account and send you gifts. With that, there’s no doubt that I’ll lose.”

Juliet’s words stirred her fans up immediately.

“When it comes to spending money, who can beat Myron Curtis?”

“That’s right. This is unfair to Juliet!”

“Luann just loves picking on Juliet. What a vile woman!”

Despite these comments, Luann calmly asked, “If you’re so sure you’re going to lose, why did you challenge me?"
