Chapter 85 A Lady who Pouts

Luann pressed her red lips together and smiled contentedly.

"No nightmares."

But Holly couldn't smile.

She stared intently at Luann's face, not missing any subtle expressions.

Her fingers tightened slightly.

Her fingernail lightly pricked Luann's delicate hand.

"Liar!"

"Do you think you can hide it from me?"

Luann sighed sadly.

She had to be honest.

"I did have a nightmare, but I don't know why, I felt much better afterwards. The pain wasn't as intense in the dream."

Holly looked at her with concern, pulled her into an embrace, and soothingly comforted her in a soft voice.

"It's okay, it's in the past, everything has already passed."

Luann's perfect chin rested on Holly's shoulder, her beautiful eyes shimmering with gentle and soothing tears.

"Alright, I'm not as fragile as you think."

Holly let out a spoiled hum from her nose, creating some distance between them and reached out to pinch Luann's cheeks.

She pulled slightly them apart.

"That's good then!"

Ding—

Eddy came up on the elevator.

He saw Myron leaning against the cold wall and couldn't help but comment.

"Luann's friend is really strange!"

"She looks cute, but her words aren't likable."

Myron raised his gaze slightly and glanced at him.

The partially closed hospital room door creaked open.

"I don't like you either, so no need for you to like me."

Caught red-handed speaking ill of someone behind their back, Eddy felt not only embarrassed but also angry.

"You!"

Luann called out to her loudly, "Holly."

Holly made a face at Eddy, sticking out her tongue and rolling her eyes, then merrily ran back to Luann's bedside, as obedient and cute as a little lamb.

"I'll take care of Luann, men are always careless and clumsy, they probably won't be much help."

Eddy frowned unhappily.

"Who are you calling careless and clumsy?"

Holly provocatively stared back.

"Did I mention anyone by name?"

"Why are you so eager to jump to conclusions?"

Really, how could a man like him win Luann's affection?

Myron stood by, his cold brows and eyes scanning over Holly without pausing for a second.

His gaze lingered on Luann, but his words were directed at another woman.

"She'll be discharged in a few days, no need to make a big fuss."

Besides, Myron finally had a chance to be alone with Luann.

But one interruption after another kept occurring.

"That won't do!"

"Other than myself, I won't let anyone take care of her."

“Darling!”

"Besides, there isn't even a female caregiver in this house."

"What if Luann wants to take a bath, and what will she do when she needs to use the toilet?"

Seeing Myron's face turning dark, Eddy hurriedly said, "They are a couple, so it's naturally her husband's responsibility. Why are you so bothered about it?"

Holly teasingly smiled, “Oh, getting anxious, are we?”

"Do you feel it's unfair that this is not your concern?"

Eddy’s eyebrows twitched fiercely.

"What nonsense are you talking about..."

Myron was enveloped in a gloomy atmosphere, and he spoke coldly, "Miss Holly, I am Luann's husband's secret, I..."

Before he could finish his sentence.

Holly innocently blinked and directly embraced Luann's neck, pressing her cheek against hers.

Rubbing against her.

Acting spoiled.

Speaking with a sweet voice.

"Luann, let me stay and take care of you, please, otherwise my visit would be in vain!"

Luann glanced at Myron out of the corner of her eye and nodded, "Alright, you can stay then."
After all, what happened in the bathroom yesterday had made Luann feel embarrassed.

Upon hearing this response, Myron’s cold aura escalated.

Eddy took the opportunity to pull him out before he lost his temper.

"Hey, they say that spoiled women have the best luck!"

“I didn’t expect that not only men but women are like this too.”

Recalling Holly's tone of speech earlier, goosebumps formed on Eddy's arm.

He turned his head and found Myron lost in thought.

"What are you thinking about?"

Myron snapped out of it and replied lightly, "Nothing."

"Since we're not needed here, let's go back to the company."

“It’s a good time to handle important business before you leave.”

"Alright."
...
Inside the hospital room.

Holly sat on a chair, peeling a pear for Luann.
"By the way, your husband looks quite scary. Aren't you terrified when you're together with him?"

Luann shook her head gently, “Not really.”

"Tsk, love is blind, and you're good at telling white lies."

With Myron's appearance, if he stood on a street, no one would dare to approach within three meters.

“By the way, did you find anything in your investigation of the Curtis family?”

Luann lowered her eyes and said calmly, "I only had the chance to visit the old mansion once, and many people haven't even seen it."

“But Myron’s parents don’t have a good relationship.”

Holly handed her a piece of pear that she had cut.

“Maybe that could be a breakthrough.”

"the Curtis family has expanded their overseas business in recent years, and it seems like there are people supporting them behind the scenes."

Luann delicately picked up the piece and put it in her mouth, enjoying the sweet fruit aroma between her lips and teeth.

"Mhmm."

"I heard that there's a lot of internal conflict within the Curtis family."

Holly sighed, "Noble families are truly complicated."

Luann kindly reminded her, “You’re also in a noble family.”

Holly shook her head with a calm tone, no ripples in her voice.

"Forget it, if it weren't for you, I'd still be in the orphanage."

"Here, the last piece, for you."

Luann looked at Holly's hand, her thoughts swirling, and images of two little girls from years ago appeared in her mind.

The chubby little girl with two ponytails reached her plump little hand out and picked up the candy that had long melted together with the wrapper, carefully sharing it.

"One for you, one for me."

“The last piece, I’ll give it to you too.”

Holly waved her hand in front of Luann's eyes.

"What's wrong with you?"

Luann snapped out of her thoughts and sighed lightly, “Nothing.”

Holly put the knife down and washed her hands.

"I'm a bit tired, I want to take a nap. Wake me up later, and I'll go buy dinner."

“Alright.”

Holly lay down on the sofa, covered herself with a thin blanket, and quickly fell asleep.

When she woke up, the sky outside the window had turned completely dark.

Holly suddenly sat up and checked the time.

"How did it get so late?"

“You must be hungry, right?”

"I'll go buy some food now!"

Luann sat by the bedside, scrolling through her phone, and said casually, "It's fine, no rush, take your time."

Holly slipped her shoes on and rushed out in an instant.

The hospital room became quiet for a few minutes.

Then, the sound of the door suddenly rang out.

Luann smiled and asked, “Forgot your phone...?”

The smile on her face froze as soon as she saw the person who entered.

Her long lashes trembled lightly.

Myron walked in, silently approaching Luann.

In the face of Luann's puzzled gaze, he hugged her shoulder and imitated Holly's action, affectionately rubbing against her.

Before he could even say the coquettish words he had practiced the whole afternoon, a tender little hand covered his forehead.

"You...have a fever?"
