Eddy's hand was in pain.
But Eddy had a smile on his face.
"Eddy, are you crazy!"
Holly screamed angrily, not sure if she was angry or anxious.
"You going to lose your arm!"
Eddy approached her and lowered his head.
Their breaths merged.
"Are you worried about me?"
Holly gritted her teeth and forcefully pushed him in the chest, but didn't even move his figure.
"Who would worry about you!?
"I hate you so much.
"Do you know that you're so annoying?"
Eddy nodded.
"I know."
Holly looked up at him, hesitating in her words.
"Let’s just forget about it. I won't argue with you anymore, just leave quickly.
"The things before, let's pretend they never happened."
Eddy pursed his thin lips, standing in place without saying anything or moving.
Holly couldn't help but urge, "Isn't it very impolite to barge into a girl's house in the middle of the night? Let's talk about it in a couple of days!"
"Holly," Eddy's voice was low.
It was a rare seriousness.
"Can't you try to let the person who loves you enter your world?"
Holly's eyes showed a hint of panic.
"I don't know what you're talking about."
Eddy emphasized each word, "I can find out everything about you and Luann."
"Including how you were bullied in the orphanage, and how Luann took you away and gave you a warm home, I know all of it.
"I know that during the time from when you were six to twenty-two years old, you lived with Luann.
"She was the sunshine in your life, she was everything to you.
"You wanted to protect her, to defend her, and not allow anyone to bully her.
"But have you ever thought about yourself?
"She is already perfect and excellent, and she has Myron who loves her.
"But what about you?
"Who do you have by your side?"
Holly lowered her head, and her playful hair was messy, looking cute despite not being groomed after getting out of bed.
Eddy wanted to see Holly's expression, but he could only see the whirl of hair on top of her head.
"You appear sunny, enthusiastic, and lively, but you are not like that.
"All your joy is just to bring happiness to Luann.
"Your past injuries..."
Holly interrupted his words with rapid breathing, "They are all in the past, there's no need to bring them up again, right?"
"Is that so?" Eddy looked at the small dog in her arms, "If they really are in the past, why are you afraid to raise Little Yellow? Why just make a shelter nearby for it?"
Holly remained silent.
"Holly, can’t you try to accept me?" Eddy's hand fell on her shoulder.
It was strong, with warmth.
Just like Luann's hand in the past.
"At worst, it's like having an extra boyfriend.
"Anyway, you have so many fresh-faced guys around you, you don't lack men, right?"
Holly raised her complex gaze.
To Eddy's surprise, there were no tears in her eyes.
She was so strong that it was heartbreaking.
"You're not a child anymore.
"If I spend money to support you, I would feel like my money is going down the drain."
Eddy was momentarily speechless.
"Then I can support you.
"My Nash family is wealthy enough to take care of you."
Holly looked disdainful, "Relying on your parents? No ambition at all."
Eddy nodded, "Well, are you saying that you have ambition? Considering that you let Luann send you money."
Holly rolled her eyes, feeling that there was no point in talking to him anymore!
Little Yellow, sandwiched between the two of them, couldn't help but make a noise, seemingly searching for attention.
Holly let it down.
Then she opened the door.
"Go outside."
It was unknown if she was chasing Little Yellow or Eddy.
Little Yellow looked at Eddy, then slowly moved towards Holly's feet. Its small body lay down, with its chin resting on her heel, eyes half-closed in comfort.
Almost as if silently provoking Eddy.
Eddy's brow twitched, suddenly exclaiming in pain.
"It hurts so much.
"I can't make love anymore!
"At this hour, what if I encounter a bad person when hailing a taxi?"
Holly watched him with a straight face.
"If you encounter a bad person, it is probably the bad person who should be running."
Eddy reached out his hand towards her, "Holly, have some pity, I'm really in pain.
"When you squeezed my arm just now, it hurt my feelings as well.
"I feel like I have internal injuries now."
Holly was speechless.
"Could it get any more ridiculous?"
With these words, she lifted Eddy's sleeve, intending to see how serious the injury was.
Because she knew deep down that the force from that slammed door was not light.
As she lifted the sleeve, a visibly clear blood trail appeared in her line of sight.
Holly was stunned.
How could it be this serious?
It must be so painful!
Eddy was also taken aback, he thought it was only a minor injury, but unexpectedly, it looked so intimidating.
He had meant to play up his suffering, using a little bit of self-pity.
But now he was worried about scaring Holly.
He decisively lowered his sleeve.
Just as he was about to speak, Holly said, "Sit down."
"Huh?"
Was his moment finally coming?
"I'll apply medicine for you," Holly said and walked towards the sofa.
Little Yellow made a dissatisfied noise and hurriedly followed, wagging its small tail.
It cleverly didn't jump on the sofa, but stayed by Holly's feet, watching as she retrieved the medicine kit from under the coffee table.
Eddy smiled faintly, "Okay."
Holly took out the items, her movements were skilled as if she did this regularly.
Eddy gazed at Holly's serious appearance and couldn't help but be captivated.
Soon, she finished bandaging Eddy's injured area.
"Done."
Eddy reluctantly pulled his arm back.
Forget it, forget it.
If Holly treated him so gently, then tonight wasn't in vain for him.
Eddy stood up.
Holly watched his back and couldn't help but ask, "Where are you going?"
"Home."
"It's not possible to make love like this, is it? And it's almost dawn, so let's not keep fooling around," Holly paused for a moment before continuing, "Rest here for a bit, and once I've slept well, I'll take you back."
Eddy raised an eyebrow in surprise, feeling a surge of joy.
"Really?"
"Yes."
"Baby, I knew you were looking out for me," Eddy stepped forward and unreservedly embraced Holly's waist, leaning down to kiss her.
Holly's mouth twitched suddenly, and she firmly pinched Eddy's earlobe, pulling upwards with force.
"Eddy, if you dare to mess around again, do you believe I would sever all ties with you?"
She lifted her knee, her face menacing.
Eddy showed no fear.
"Then wouldn't you be a lifetime widow?"
