Chapter 125 An Easy Victory
A curious baby face leaned close to Luann's ear.
Startled, she accidentally dropped her food.
Mr. Curtis, with his blurry vision, hadn't worn his glasses and couldn't see the words on the paper at all.
"What are you so engrossed in?"
Luann hastily stuffed the note into her pocket.
"Oh, nothing, Chairman. Will you eat with me?" she said hastily.
Without hesitation, Mr. Curtis shook his head.
"No, no. Myron bought this for you, and I wouldn't dare to eat it."
Feeling sleepy from being full, Luann yawned.
Everyone couldn't help but make fun of Joshua, "What is he doing? He's so slow!"
"Is he embroidering? My back hurts from sitting for so long!"
Evan wasn't any better than the others, but he tried to comfort them.
"Forget about it. Slow and steady wins the race, what's the rush?"
"Not like some people who draw in advance. Maybe it won't be any better, like a piece of waste paper."
Luann smiled faintly.
She wasn't really bothered.
Finally. After a long wait.
Joshua finally stood up.
"I'm done!"
Just as Luann was about to get up to retrieve the design that was about to gather dust on her desk, Joshua stopped her directly.
"Wait, in order to prevent cheating, I request that we take photos of the two designs right now and let the employees vote on them!"
Luann looked at him with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes, "Sure, but I hope it's anonymous."
"No problem!"
Joshua scoffed.
He had reached his current position based on his abilities, not because he was the second young master of the Curtis family!
Even if it was anonymous, he would still earn everyone's recognition!
Soon, someone came in from outside, took two photos, and posted them in the company's group chat, along with a simple voting software.
The deadline was set for noon tomorrow.
After everything was done, Mr. Curtis couldn't wait and got up.
"Alright, we've been busy all day. Quickly bring your designs over for us to see!"
Just as Luann picked up her design, Joshua had already walked past her, deliberately bumping into her shoulder.
Luann whispered softly, "Childish brat..."
Joshua handed over his neatly arranged design, his tone filled with complete confidence.
"Chairman, shareholders, please have a look!"
Mr. Curtis reached out and took it, nodding in satisfaction.
Then he showed it to the others one by one.
"Not bad, not bad. Joshua has made progress with his design."
"Yes, it seems he went beyond expectations, even better than what I saw last time!"
All ten shareholders gave Joshua highly positive evaluations.
Mr. Curtis's heart sank slowly.
Damn it, could these old folks be turning against me collectively?
"Now let's take a look at Luann's!"
After receiving Luann's design, Mr. Curtis froze in place.
He stared wide-eyed in astonishment, as if he had witnessed something terrible, unable to say a word for a long time.
Evan became impatient and approached.
"Old man, what on earth did this girl draw..."
His words abruptly stopped, as if someone had choked him.
Seeing that things weren't right, the other shareholders rushed over to take a look, their reactions matching the shock and confusion on Mr. Curtis's face.
Joshua blinked in confusion.
"What's going on?"
"Did Luann's design reach a new level of ugliness?"
But when he saw the drawing, he was even more shocked!
It wasn't ugly.
It was beautiful!
Luann had designed a type A wedding dress that was the least picky when it came to body shape, with a natural, gracefully sloping straight line for the skirt.
She used lace hollow-out designs at the shoulders, emphasizing the slender neck.
A sheer veil covered the chest, with embroidered patterns flowing down and accentuating the slim waist.
The sleeves were made of lightweight sheer fabric, ending at seven-eighths length with a bubbly effect, exuding an ethereal charm with every movement.
Luann had paid great attention to detail in the design, meticulously drawing every pattern that could be overlooked on the lower part of the skirt.
Joshua's eyes widened even more, and he exclaimed in disbelief,
"How is this possible... This can't be!"
"Luann! You must have switched the design!"
"Show me the one you drew yourself! Bring it out!"
Luann calmly replied, "Is it so difficult to admit someone else's excellence?"
Joshua glared angrily, his anger burning in his eyes.
"I know, you and Myron must be in cahoots, deliberately plotting against me, right?"
"Where's the design? Where did you hide it?"
Joshua reached towards Luann's pocket.
In the next moment, Myron pulled Luann behind him.
He protected her.
His icy voice was as cold as eternal ice, filled with chilling intent to kill.
"Can't handle losing, can you?"
Joshua was so enraged that he almost spewed blood. "Myron! Clearly, you're protecting her!"
Luann peeked her head out from behind Myron, looking innocent.
"By saying that, aren't you neglecting the chairman and the shareholders?"
"Did they spend nearly eight hours working hard just to waste time acting with you?"
Joshua suddenly realized, and when he glanced sideways, he indeed noticed that their faces didn't look good.
Although Joshua's words seemed to be scolding Luann, in reality, he scolded them all!
Joshua hurriedly explained, "I'm sorry, that's not what I meant... "
"Enough." Mr. Curtis interrupted him, shaking his head disappointedly. "Vote."
Under Joshua's nervous gaze, the shareholders wrote their names on the paper.
"Evan, reveal your choice!"
Mr. Curtis forcefully grabbed the paper with Evan's written name.
Evan sat silently in his chair, his face alternating between red and white.
He never expected that he would make such a misjudgment!
"Let's see, let's see!"
Mr. Curtis opened them one by one.
The result was unexpected, but also expected.
"Ten to zero!"
"Luann wins!"
Luann smiled gently, neither arrogant nor rash, as she looked at Joshua's darkened face and kindly reminded him,
"No need to rush, let's wait until morning to talk about the contract signing."
"The result will come out at noon, then we can talk about it."
Joshua's body trembled!
He had originally intended to humiliate Luann, intentionally raising this suggestion to make everyone in the company mock her and take away her courage to step into the headquarters again.
But now... Joshua hurriedly picked up his phone, opened the group chat that had already received 1000+ messages, and discovered the lively and audacious discussions happening inside.
They were shamelessly flattering Joshua.
[Oh my, it's anonymous!]
[Do we even need to look? Image one is definitely the masterpiece of our design director!]
[Exactly, Luann's design is incomparable, they're not even in the same league!]
[Seriously, image two is so ugly, it's hideous!]
[I really don't know who gave her the confidence to compete with our director, is she even qualified?]
[The director's talent has been evident to everyone in the company for so many years. Let's all vote for image one and send Luann packing!]
[No problem!]
Joshua froze for a moment as a glimmer of hope emerged in his heart. But when he opened the voting channel and looked at it...
Image one was Luann's work...
Joshua "..."
