Chapter 66 Roommates

Luann let out an oh and turned to leave. But before she could take two steps, Alvin grabbed her wrist. Luann's suspicious gaze shifted down and fell on the fair and slender fingers of the young master, untouched by the sun.

"Don't you want this hand anymore?"

Images of Myron's stern and sinister face flashed through Alvin's mind, like a mouse encountering a cat, he quickly withdrew his hand.
He looked at her pitifully.

“Are you also heartless? Don’t you care about what happened to me?”

Luann's face was full of question marks.

"I just asked you, didn't I? You seem unwilling to answer," Alvin chuckled and his eyes darted around.

"Ahem, as the eldest miss of the Curtis family, since you've just entered our family, don't you want to seize an opportunity to show yourself?"

"Can you do me a favor?" Alvin asked with a hint of meaning, Luann asked indifferently, "What favor?"

"Just tell me if you're willing!"

“You haven’t even told me what it is.”

"Well, are we still friends!" Alvin hesitated to speak directly, and Luann felt that something strange was going on.

Seeing Luann's silence, Alvin's confidence, which had just risen, immediately diminished. He tugged at Luann's sleeve and with a sweet voice, asked:

"Sis...sister-in-law, please, just agree to help me..."

Luann glanced at him sideways, somewhat helpless.

“Speak, what is it?”

Alvin felt a burst of excitement and began to explain in a coherent manner.

"I started a company, and things were going well, but recently...there have been a few small accidents..."

Luann interrupted the upcoming long discourse, "Get to the point."

Alvin's thin lips half-opened, and after struggling for a while, he finally squeezed out a sentence, "I need design drawings, a large number of them."

“What about the designers in your company?”

"They had something unexpected happened and went back to their hometown.”
“All of them?”

Alvin awkwardly scratched his head, "Uh, I only have two designers in my company, and one just quit the day before yesterday."

Luann was extremely surprised, “What do you mean? Why are there only two?”

"I was trying to save on company expenses, and the designer's salary was too high. The funds
my dad gave me were not a lot, so I..." Alvin smirked, a hint of shyness on his face.

Luann understood that this guy knew nothing about running and managing a company, otherwise, how could he make such an obvious mistake?

" My big brother used to have a wide network of contacts, so he must know a lot of people in the business field. I originally wanted to ask him for a few famous designer names, but he left so quickly."

"Sister-in-law, I heard that you're also working now, can you introduce a few people to me?"

Luann entered the villa. Alvin hurriedly followed.

"Even if I give you a list of names, you don't have the money to hire them."

“Heh heh, why are you so mean!”

Upstairs, they entered the bedroom.

Alvin’s footsteps behind Luann suddenly stopped.

She turned around and saw Alvin at the door, looking coy and blushing, beckoning to him.

“Why are you standing there? Come in.”

Alvin's eyes wandered, "This...isn't it inappropriate? It's broad daylight, a man, and a woman alone in a room. I feel a bit embarrassed. And besides, if big brother finds out, both of us will be in trouble.”

Luann slapped him on the forehead, causing him to yell in pain.

"You've got silly thoughts in your head. Don't want the design drawings anymore?"

“Yes, yes, yes!”

Approaching the table, Luann asked, "In what area?"
"Clothing! I own a fashion design company!"

Luann took out a small key and opened one of the drawers, pulling out a large stack of design drawings that were as thick as a thumb.

With a thud, they landed on the table and shook slightly.

“Just pick one.”

Luann waved grandly.

Alvin couldn't believe his eyes and started flipping through them in astonishment. He was surprised to find that every single design drawing, regardless of which one, was better than the ones his hired designers had created! And most importantly, all the works Luann showed him were fully colored, not a single sketch.

Wow...

“Luann, how did you have so many design drawings?”

Even though Alvin was easygoing, he noticed that something was not right.

"Bought them," Luann answered nonchalantly.

"Bought... bought them? As far as I know, design drawings from designers are quite expensive, aren't they?"

"Okay, didn't spend much."

“Oh”…"

Alvin nodded.

Luann already had the answer to Alvin's next question, "Why did you buy so many design drawings?" However, he realized that Alvin didn't continue to dwell on the issue but instead earnestly selected a dozen or so.

"Just these! Thank you so much, sister-in-law!"

"You're truly my great benefactor! You solved my urgent problem!"

"Don't worry, after everything is done, I'll invite you for a nice meal!"

Luann put the remaining design drawings back in the drawer.

“Don’t mention anything to your big brother about this.”

Alvin frowned in confusion.

“Why?”

Luann paused for a moment. "Because the money came from your big brother. I'm afraid he'll blame me for spending it recklessly."

Alvin suddenly understood and didn't dig deeper into Luann's flawed explanation.

"Got it, got it! Don't worry, I'm not the kind of person who burns bridges."

“Yeah.”

After sending Alvin away, Luann went to the company.

On the way, she received a call from her second brother.

"My dear Luann, when are you coming to the United States?"

“In a couple of days, coincidentally, I have a business trip for the company, so I’ll stop by.”

The tone of the other person instantly dropped several degrees, tinged with a hint of dissatisfaction.

"Can't you come earlier? You stayed in the Upper West Side for so long, didn't you miss me at all?"

“And please don’t tell me that you postponed the bidding just for your lousy business trip.”

Leaning back on the chair, Luann lazily replied, "Yeah, there's something going on with the company, and I can't leave right now."

"Tsk, tsk, tsk." The man's tone became odd. "You're not so dedicated to your own company, huh?"

“Second brother”…"

"Alright, alright, I won't tease you anymore." The man's tone suddenly turned low. "By the way, you've been-"

"That company that we're competing against is very competitive. This time, it seems like the mysterious CEO behind the scenes is going to personally participate in the bidding."

Luann instantly straightened her back, sitting up straight, her lazy posture suddenly tense. Her slender figure presented a defensive stance, but there was a hint of curiosity and excitement in her eyes.

"It seems like this bidding will be interesting!"
